This scene compliments Gus in Breaking Bad. Walt's planted a bomb on Gus's car at the hospital, and Jesse tells Gus he thinks someone poisoned Brock. The random people that "don't notice him" are a decoy couple, hired by him to keep appearances and to not rise suspicion (they probably were ordered to act as if a security team isn't there). Because of the proximity of those houses, that tunnel must've been easy to dig unlike the lab which required planning for both the drainage/water system and ventilation system.

It’s been referenced how Madrigal has a lot of business interests globally. Say Madrigal has a hand in neighborhood/private community development they could easily build a tunnel and connect various houses while constructing the entire neighborhood.
Having those specific houses purchased by Gus and his team as their base is not that unlikely (as opposed to say Russians having an underground base in Indiana like in Stranger Things lol).

Everytime Walter drove into Los Pollos Hermanos people would be watching, if Walt were to try to go to Gus's house; Tyrus would be watching. And unlike Lalo, Walter isn't a seasoned ex-military Cartel enforcer. Any one of Gus's guys could probably take him head to head. Because he dosent seem to have a genuine goal doing the things he does whether its running a sophisticated meth operation or Los pollos hermanos. There's no family, partner or children to provide for even though he's exceedingly wealthy. No other outstanding goals. I believe he simply lived at that point to destroy the entire cartel and especially make Don Hector suffer. Also, the restaurant acts as a front for him to earn money for Eladio. He also uses the trucks to carefully move drugs across the border.
Plus, the restaurant helps serve his image as a community helper, through the amount of charity he does. The DEA never suspected him because he supported their cause.

Lalo was like some kind of Boogeyman horror movie villain in the first half of Season 6. Had all the main characters trembling just from the possibility that he survived that big shootout.

This whole sequence does so much work to humanise Gus. Seeing his paranoia, his exasperation at having to constantly look over his shoulder, really sells that the guy was human at the end of the day.

I always what drew Gus to this lifestyle. He’s an incredibly disciplined and tactful man. He’d make his way real high up in any corporate structure.
I could see him learning multiple languages and at least a graduate degree.
Maybe he wouldn’t make it to the top tier of a multinational. But with this level of discipline, he’d for sure hit the national levels.
This is the kind of corporate manager that could catch small details that others could not, and after several years of doing that, you’re making the top good decisions and putting good eyes on the middle level.

I just realized that the guy walking in the tunnel is Gus's body double. He's wearing the same clothes as Gus, I imagine his role is to walk around the decoy house facing away from the windows so that it appears Gus hasn't left the house.

I love when Gus “transforms”; in this and a few times in Breaking Bad, we see him sort of “shed” his Fast Food Manager by removing his simple business tie and bland cream colored shirt, only to put on darker tones, and sharper fit clothing. Literally going from Businessman to gangster.

You know this could be why he did Salamonga himself knowing that Lalo hit went wrong. Though I think that was more the personal wanting revenge part of it. But he clearly didn’t learn from Scarface. You let someone else shoot the man. A death is a death.

I just realized, Gus may have started into all of this out of a business opportunity, out of fun to have with his boyfriend back then... but ever since the incident at Don Eladios place, he only kept on going for the revenge against all of them... you never see him do it for a family, nor for the money to live it up... all just power and ultimately revenge.

0:20 the clip-on tie symbolizes Gus' professional persona perfectly. Something he can snap on effortlessly. It looks like a tie, but is merely concealing his true nature, laying just above the bulletproof vest.
