One of the world's most underrated rock bands.
The best rock band for a long time you have to dance yea rock on
Funny I was sitting in my car in the village of Eastry Kent UK 🇬🇧
When they put live Aid on the radio and Quo opened it and I went from feeling pissed off with life from feeling on top of the bloody world 🌎 and they really made my day
I can't understand why some people don't like Quo still it's their loss Quo is only the best BRITISH BAND IN THE WORLD and I'm proud to be a no1 fan of them
RIP Ricky so sadly missed 😢😢😢❤ but I bet he's Rocking away up in heaven ❤ I really miss the good old days and wish I could go back again 😢 I no it's not possible but I've got my good memory of the good old days 😊
Rock on and on.
Only Status Quo could have opened for Live Aid and got the crowd in the perfect mood for a great day & night... Brilliant. R.I.P. Rick & Alan.
You mean NOBODY else could have done it? What about all those other years when......oh, forget it.
Piledriver, one of the classic albums of the seventies. Loved it.
Bloody good guitarist ya know.
Where would we all be without Status Quo?
We'd be in hell without the Quo
I love them so much.
The opening part of the gig has to be one of music's best ever set. The whole of the band deserves a knighthood. And NOW not next year. I am just so glad that I'm still alive to be able to see and hear it.
Thank you Francis Rick and ,Alan
I will love you all forever.
No one else could have opened Live Aid! They were the perfect choice! This tune is epic!
Slade could to the job and better!
@@macca63 Yes, sweetheart. Don't you have homework to do?
Slade a great singles band, Quo an albums band role roles reversed.
i agree i last saw quo in perth supported by aussie band screaming jets brilliant concert i would have went twice low priced shows when your that good its not about the money they love performing.
@macca63 why weren't they asked?
One great example of two rock bands begining with the letter Q. Quo and Queen turning a pop concert into a rock concert.
Never mock the Quo, been around 5 decades 😉
Rossi is one hell of a guitar player.
R.I.P. Rick Parfitt (guitar) & Alan Lancaster (bass) 🤘🤘
👍😊💙🇮🇪🇬🇧
Awww... I remember Live Aid being such a big deal back then. We were on vacation, camping somewhere out in the middle of Mooooh Pasture, but we brought a little portable TV and we spent the whole day watching all these great bands....Good memories!
i remember the day well, and its been said before, no one could have opened this gig up better. 1000% respect to the quo.
What a jam how could you not like this.
38 years later Fran is still rocking. Gotta admire him ❤ Thanks Quo 🙏🙏
Bloody hell, that was brilliant.
The only band in the world that plays rock and roll like this
ikr
Agreed 👍
Correct my friend, infact I struggle to think of another band that could do it like this in this way 😊
Bob Geldof did a stroke of genius by letting status quo open live aid.R.I.P Rick parfitt and Allan Lancaster
And he was here playing with 'The Bombers' at that time as well!
There's an interview with Bob where he lines out why Quo had to be brought back on stage: 'Whoever would withstand the pressure by opening the worlds' biggest concert? Only Quo can do, so they had to be re-activated!' Quo went on stage, fully loaded as ever, but totally unrehearsed.
They rehearsed on the Friday and called it a sound check , quality

Lancaster rocking that double denim like a boss. 😎😎🤟🏻🤟🏻
Live Aid !985, watched this with my best ever mate and future wife. How I wish I could go back there....
What a great band 🎸
Outstanding and a magnificent opener. Possibly live music at its best .... wonderful entertainment. Sad to have lost Rick and Alan RIP.
That shot from 03:48 showing the crowd clapping and then panning up and zooming in on the stage gave me chills. Such a perfectly captured moment of sheer joyful rock 'n' roll.
Yes it's an iconic moment in British Rock history, it captured everything about that day.
Rest in peace Rick and Alan ❤
That is amazing lead guitar.
No. 1 rock n roll band in the land! Nothing more to add!
Slade are sorry
Yerr dam right😊
The stress of being too young to ever see live aid.
The sound is fantastic! Rick looks so happy to be back on stage 😊
Imagine if they got to play a longer set! This was song 3 of 3. You could tell that the first two were a bit "rusty", since they were in retirement at that point in time. By the time they launched into Don't Waste My Time they were visibly more relaxed, warmed up and had the engine rollin'!
Rockin? Yeah. Caroline. Yeah. This? Woah. I love they chose a deep cut to end.
Wembley and Philadelphia both copped great weather for this great day.
My wife bought me the 4 dvd set just after it was released years ago.
So many no longer with us-Bowie, Freddy, some of the guys from Quo and Cars, as well as many more.
Quo....the best for ever
Rossi, the show man on its best. Quo hungry to perform (again) after the End of the Road farewell
Well. They didn't want to play. At the time the band was done. Coghlan left a few years before and at the time (1985) Rossi and Alan were not getting along. Also between Rick and Francis things were not good at the time. Drugs and booze were all around. It was Bob Geldof that convinced them they had to be there. Quo hadn't played together for over a year and didn't have much time to do rehearsals. They just got on stage and played. On stage, looking at the audience and all the cameras, it was when they started to realise how big the event Live Aid was and afterwards how good it was they were the first band on stage that day (publicitywise).
It was wonderful that day the weather was perfect I recorded this on vhs tape and listened in stereo on the radio just brilliant.
Nice to see Pete Kircher- really great and solid drummer.
had a very weak sound
John Coughlan missing
LEGENDS
I love this band.

" after four. Four..." Classic Rossi.
"....sitting with my legs going brown"
This was the best thing about Live Aid
No, Queen was on top!!!
@@janfoss2856 No, Queen is very overrated, Quo is better
@@Erick--__-- I dig both of them.

Gotta love Quo!
I've heard many criticise QUO , until they see them live.
That's how you start a world concert.....
Quo Forever ❤
They were great rockers!
They also did Pictures of Matchstick men - which was way ahead of its time
thats what started them off they are a true working band
I was there right at the front. Fantastic day.
i never knew that Mr. Andrew, you're a man of even more talents.....😀
Rossi is one hell of a player, up there with the best IMO.
Up there with the best ? You can't have heard the best in that case.
@@spanishpeaches2930 Best at what he does in the pop genre. Not making comparisons with a Spanish guitarist.
@@justaroundthecorner2883 I'm not talking about classical guitar. I could name thirty guitarists ( including my best mate) off the top of my head...and many more.. who would spank his backside when it comes to playing the electric guitar.
@@spanishpeaches2930 Thank for replying: your right of course there are some great players out there. His lead break in Blue eyed lady is impressive. He's earned his spurs as a player, still working on mine.
@@justaroundthecorner2883 All I would say about him is that he is the perfect fit for Quo, who were magnificent in the Seventies, but pretty rubbish from then on.
awesome band been a fan for many years much better live at a concert theres those who think they can rock you havent seen the best concert till youve been to a quo concert rock on quo
Too bloody right mate seen them may times over the years first with the original line up, then the Francis and rick years then again on the reunion tour
check out francis Rossi live at st lukes and king of the doghouse another is status quo backbone done a while ago takes a few listens sounds different but i like it check it out.
Probably it’s the best live performance of the Don’t Waste My Time by the band. Solos played by Francis are almost perfect, which is not very often.
Well, they were fairly reserved when they opened LIVE AID.
I have to agree with you that Francis played every note perfectly.
He normally misses a note here and there or bends a note or two.
Sad, that was Alan's last gig with the boys.
Well, they did the Reunion gigs in 2013 / 2014.
My apologies.
@@alanstrom2221 RIP Rick and alan
It was by far the best of the three songs they did that day.
@@sueperglue8847 Obviously you ain't no SQ-fan!
Golden, platinum memories! Thanks Ouo!
Brilliant ❤
Never realised they played this one . Great 👍
Can't believe they were still using cables instead of wireless guitar rigs but best day of my life ever.
Cables still were more reliable back then. Shows their professionalism.
Best Rock band of all time. Class song. 🙌
Viva status quo ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I'm obsessed with them
Absolutely brilliant 🙌
Best opening ever ❤ thank's for uploading,🎼 nana, nana, nana hehehe Status Quo 🎼 remember the german crowd, miss the old Times 😪

Classic Rossi.
that's how its done x
Был в 1989 на концерте в Олимпийском-это было очень круто. Руки в кровь!
Thank you for another one of the "Missing" performances. Hopefully, we wont have to wait another two weeks until you post the first Sade clip. Many of us have been waiting so many years to see her FULL set. One day , hopefully, the Trust will release the FULL concert on Up-scaled Bluray or one of the Streaming Services. Regards to all other Live Aids fans out there..
