Learning new tricks can take some patience. The most important thing is to always stay healthy while learning new skills that push your limits. Break down the trick you want into the smallest pieces possible and then map out how to connect all those pieces starting with the smallest ones first.
Think like a baby. Start by crawling, then learn to walk & eventually you'll be running. Your optimal environment for learning should include the right size and shape of waves. Equipment that is matched to your skill level and the conditions of the water. Getting the right instruction will help avoid injury and drastically speed up the learning cure.
