That's true, especially when you're trying to find the perfect scent. Plus ppl fail to realize that if you aren't throwing away perfumes, they add up over the yrs. I would still have scents I had as a teen/early 20s if I hadn't gotten robbed. I'm 31 now, so that would be around 30 bottles if not more.
People forget that some people can actually save up to afford the things that they like, and they know how to splurge when they have it. Literally people think you're either rich or you're broke. Most working women with large collections of anything, work hard for those and like to spend money on the things when they get a good deal or when they've saved up for up. Others don't know how to do that.

When it comes to influencers, I feel like it's simple. Basically, it's watch and admire. Then purchase responsibly, within your budget, and within your lane. You don't need to get everything that they have to feel beautiful, elegant, elevated, and worthy.

I’ve been on this wave for years now. I’ve actually never cared for lifestyle influencers. I never saw the overconsumption thing as aspirational. I followed Jackie Aina on CZcams years ago when her main thing was makeup tutorials, I learned a lot from her. But when her brand switched mainly to lifestyle, I fell off. I’m happy for her but it’s not my thing.
I was following a content creator years ago when she would do fashion try-on hauls, couponing & tips on how to save. She started making money & now everything is about designer, luxury brands & showing off her items. The content got really boring. That doesn’t excite me at all. & her lifestyle & fashion sense doesn’t even go with the expensive items she buys. Some people would rather own Chanel than own a home. I’m not into the lifestyle content creators either, especially when It doesn’t make sense.

I'm not into influencer stuff, never heard of Jackie, and couldn't tell the difference between the smell of expensive perfume and Barbasol. But seeing how excited her fans are about her fragrance coming out made me feel happy. My favorite video game essayist, Jacob Gellar, just released a book, and you bet I bought it. There's nothing wrong with buying products you want from creators you enjoy. If someone takes issue with that dynamic, then they don't have to engage with it.

I support any black person (especially a black woman) creating a great product that black people can buy and enjoy. Jackie has been in the business for so long. She works very hard and created a strong personal brand. She should be able to enjoy the fruits of her hard work. We as black people consume too much of what is produced by others to the detriment of growing our own businesses, communities, wealth, economies etc.. How many perfumes Jackie owns comes with the territory of being a global beauty influencer. A lot of it is probably free. I dont even watch Jackie as much anymore but Im happy to see her growing and building her own empire.. Regardess of the economic climate, there is still room to celebrate a sisters success..

I have not seen one person that has criticized Jackie, Nicki (the cleaning/organization influencer) or any of the other popular BW in luxury/soft life influencers doing anything to decrease their own consumption, adopt a minimalist lifestyle, buy more sustainable products etc. NOT ONE. I absolutely love the beginning of the commercial, the end was not as artistic. We also have to remember that as an influencer she didn't have to pay for all of the perfumes in her collection. Regardless of how she got it, as a fellow black woman I will support her, and her efforts as long as they align with the betterment of black women. P.S I hope she launches them in travel size too. I don't wear perfume enough to buy the larger bottles, but the travel sizes are perfect for me.

When I first saw the perfume, my automatic response was the bottle looks cheap. But I’m also a lover and collector of perfumers, with two bins full of fragrances. That's true, especially when you're trying to find the perfect scent. Plus ppl fail to realize that if you aren't throwing away perfumes, they add up over the yrs. I would still have scents I had as a teen/early 20s if I hadn't gotten robbed. I'm 31 now, so that would be around 30 bottles if not more.
People forget that some people can actually save up to afford the things that they like, and they know how to splurge when they have it. Literally people think you're either rich or you're broke. Most working women with large collections of anything, work hard for those and like to spend money on the things when they get a good deal or when they've saved up for up. Others don't know how to do that.

I’m not heavy into influencers, I can hardly recognize most of them but let Jackie do her thing. It’s been dope to see her progress in an industry that is not only racist but colorist. She’s the reason the brand two faced (don’t come for me if I’m wrong about the brand) expanded their color range. I think she’s iconic in her lane.
It’s also important to remember that this is what rich people do. They eventually stop marketing for the average income. It’s a little sell outy to me but 🤷🏽♀️ I’m not outraged at her. I’ve been on this wave for years now. I’ve actually never cared for lifestyle influencers. I never saw the overconsumption thing as aspirational. I followed Jackie Aina on CZcams years ago when her main thing was makeup tutorials, I learned a lot from her. But when her brand switched mainly to lifestyle, I fell off. I’m happy for her but it’s not my thing.

I was following a content creator years ago when she would do fashion try-on hauls, couponing & tips on how to save. She started making money & now everything is about designer, luxury brands & showing off her items. The content got really boring. That doesn’t excite me at all. & her lifestyle & fashion sense doesn’t even go with the expensive items she buys. Some people would rather own Chanel than own a home. I’m not into the lifestyle content creators either, especially when It doesn’t make sense.

I have several thoughts here lol. The first is that people have been coming at Jackie for a while now for no longer being “relatable” and sitting on her bedroom floor doing her makeup. I’ve always thought that wasn’t fair because she built her brand from the ground up and paid her dues, she deserves to reap the benefits. I think that anything that black public figures do will be scrutinized and that’s annoying. HOWEVER, I’ve always wondered why she has so many perfumes because they do expire lol. There are some fragrances I’ve had for years that she has on this shelf and they do not smell the same after a while girl lol. This can go in the category with the girlies that have shelves full of Stanley cups. You never need that much.

I'm not into influencer stuff, never heard of Jackie, and couldn't tell the difference between the smell of expensive perfume and Barbasol. But seeing how excited her fans are about her fragrance coming out made me feel happy. My favorite video game essayist, Jacob Gellar, just released a book, and you bet I bought it. There's nothing wrong with buying products you want from creators you enjoy. If someone takes issue with that dynamic, then they don't have to engage with it.

I support any black person (especially a black woman) creating a great product that black people can buy and enjoy. Jackie has been in the business for so long. She works very hard and created a strong personal brand. She should be able to enjoy the fruits of her hard work. We as black people consume too much of what is produced by others to the detriment of growing our own businesses, communities, wealth, economies etc.. How many perfumes Jackie owns comes with the territory of being a global beauty influencer. A lot of it is probably free. I dont even watch Jackie as much anymore but Im happy to see her growing and building her own empire.. Regardess of the economic climate, there is still room to celebrate a sisters success..

I have not seen one person that has criticized Jackie, Nicki (the cleaning/organization influencer) or any of the other popular BW in luxury/soft life influencers doing anything to decrease their own consumption, adopt a minimalist lifestyle, buy more sustainable products etc. NOT ONE. Jackie works so hard and she deserves everything that she gets. She made the right decisions and moves to be able to enjoy her luxurious life and I pray that she gets everything that she deserves they may just be haters.
I can't wait to smell them. If it is something that I like, I'll get one. My limit is 5 smells at a time.
Between her candles and now perfumes, she is in the fragrance business. Her collection is not just vanity, it’s research, it’s work, and it’s what she’s passionate about. Every one has their thing.

I like Jackie. She earned her money. I’m buying the perfume when Ulta or Sephora has a sale.
I watch influencers for entertainment purposes only. I don’t buy what they buy. Because I have my own sense of style. But, I’m happy for her she’s doing her thing.
Lastly, people are making a big fuss about her having so much perfumes etc…in the same breath going out and buying Beyonce’s perfume and hair care line. People pick and choose their favs. So what’s the difference?

Its called influence people not force... either you are influenced or not. I would never have this much perfume. I don't even like that many smells enough... but its her not me and I can be happy for someone else without being jealous or feeling lack in my own life... Lord strengthen their minds, they are weak and envious

I absolutely love the beginning of the commercial, the end was not as artistic. We also have to remember that as an influencer she didn't have to pay for all of the perfumes in her collection. Regardless of how she got it, as a fellow black woman I will support her, and her efforts as long as they align with the betterment of black women. P.S I hope she launches them in travel size too. I don't wear perfume enough to buy the larger bottles, but the travel sizes are perfect for me.
My thing is they buying bath and body works every month hurting eh environment with cheap bottles but she may use the same perfume for over a year
6:49 Fragrance sales have actually exploded since the pandemic. In 2022 the company I worked for hit $3B in sales on just the luxury collection alone. People aren't "de-influencing" in this case, they're just hating on Jackie Aina

Because someone has a 1000 perfumes and shows them to you doesn’t mean you have to. As some sort of collector myself I will still tell you to not run around buying something because someone else did buy it or told you need it.
We are adults working for our money so we all should know what we can afford, what is reasonable to buy and. Once you know yourself do whatever makes you happy and won’t hurt you
I don’t understand the outrage. They really want Jackie to be the champion for every cause. Every time this girl launching something, it’s problem. That being said, I used to follow Jackie back in the day, not so much now. Mostly because her content doesn’t resonate with me and my lifestyle. When I first saw the perfume, my automatic response was the bottle looks cheap. But I’m also a lover and collector of perfumers, with two bins full of fragrances. I’ll be testing them out in Sephora and buying it. Good for her. Starting a business isn’t easy. Especially for black women. So I’ll be supporting.

It’s simple. If you don’t like it, then don’t watch it… and if you don’t want it or don’t want to support it, then don’t buy it. What’s frustrating are those influencers who are on here doing the bare minimum and making bank. Jackie has worked hard to get to where she is… I remember military Jackie, and talking about her divorce with the bad camera Jackie. Look at where she is now. So I can’t knock her for just continuing to expand herself and her brand.
I'm not shocked that Jackie has that much perfume, been following her for years, and I've realized that she's obsessed perfumes. And I believe some of those were gifted to her, but even if she bought them I personally do not care, it's not like she was gonna send me some of the money she'd have used for the perfume if she didn't buy it so why would I care. She is a rich woman, she is into beauty, why is that collection surprising 😅
