I bought a Honda HR-V 2022 today. I did not wait for the 2023 because: By March 2023 due to supply chain issues getting worse not better and demand increasing the prices will jump about $4,000 and your interest rate will increase by at least 1.25% from what it is today. $$$ the better choice is buy a car RIGHT NOW THIS MONTH and ride it out for 10 years.

I agree. I just bought one today. It was the only one at the dealer and hot red! It was meant for me.

I picked up a 2022 HR-V EX and in my opinion, it's often times best to pick up a vehicle on it's last model year as opposed to the first year of a new generation. I say this due to the fact that most, if not all, of the kinks and issues have been detected/corrected by the end of the cycle. Compared to a brand new model that could potentially have many hidden issues not yet known due to lack of road time.

Great little suv for the price. I have the exact same model in the same color. Only gripes; lack of decent pickup with the engine, the speakers aren’t quite as loud to my liking, and the front is just a bit small width wise. I drive to work in uniform so my holster doesn’t quite have the full room I’d like. Can’t argue the economy of this vehicle though… a good purchase for me.

I bought a 2022 HR-V sport a few days ago. I came from a luxury packaged Ford Fusion. I was very spoiled by my Fusion’s features. I had a hard time parting with it, but after a few days- I’ve come to find I love everything about the HR-V. It doesn’t have a lot of advanced features, but I think this will make it much more reliable and any sort of repairs will be cheap due to the lack of extra features and sensors. The engine bay is friggin sweet. After my 7 year warranty is up, it will be easy to replace anything in it.
The ride is smooth to me. I love that the rear passenger door handles are sort of hidden away. The look of it is amazing all around- except for the exhaust tip. I’m replacing that thing asap. It should have came with something more sporty.. since this is a sport trim. Duh.
My fusion was quick- but this thing is quicker. Super fun to drive. I’m always excited to drive now.
My biggest gripe is that it lacks LEDs. It has DRLs, but everything else is normal/halogen bulbs (except the brake lights).
I’ll be swapping all bulbs asap. Hope this helps anyone on the fence about it.

I bought a 2022 HRV EX AWD over the holidays as my 15 year old mini-pickup was slowly dying. While it’s not a car you can expect to rob a bank and outrun the cops in, I find it plenty responsive for what I need. I drove it on an extended trip to be with family for Christmas and experienced well over 30 mpg. It’s has plenty of room for my road bike or a couple guitars, amp and ‘overnight kit’ as my “gig-mobile”… Seriously, I wasn’t expecting to like this car as much as I do!

Sport Trim *better have* fog lights. Just got one of these, after a few days: this car is Venom from Spider Man. Put it in regular drive and it’s Eddie Brock, doesn’t want to start trouble. Put it in sport mode, and with the paddle shifters it goes into manual shifting mode. Honda managed to make a CVT with paddle shifters and ancient tengu magic to feel like a stick shift AWD Civic. The engine braking into 3rd 2nd first is glorious and the exhaust has a little burble when you hit the right rpms. I’ve actually caught myself trying to hit the nonexistent clutch pedal and row the shifter. Venom takes over. My 2015 CR-V is a slow and comfy ol’ reliable compared to this little demon. Old school Honda Civic/ CRX vibes going on.

I purchased my '22 HR-V Sport in January this year ('22). I was worried about the low horse power at first, but having driven the car for 2 months I realize that it's plenty of horse Power for most situations. I live in Houston and have had no problems merging into traffic on the freeways or accelerating quickly to pass slower traffic. I did notice that when i had four adults in the car that the acceleration was greatly reduced. My main gripe about the HR-V is the super dated turn key ignition. My last two cars had keyless everything, so getting used to having to fumble for a key in my bag has been a pain in the butt. I also don't understand why the sport trim didn't get variable intermittent wipers. Every car i've owned since my 1988 Nissan Sentra has had variable wiper speed. Auto headlights would also be nice to have on the sport trim. A little to much "cutting corners" on the Sport trim in my opinion. But overall, i still love my HR-V and have no regrets in my purchase.

Bought my 2022 HR-V SPORT at Tower Honda in Longview Texas and I love it! The Aegean Blue Metallic is a great color. I enjoy not having all the horsepower. The only thing is I don't like the completely black interior. So, I bought accessories to liven it up. But, I love my vehicle.

I had to sell my 19 Accord touring hybrid in my divorce. I bought a new 20 Fit EX. After having to replace the rear axle assembly and strut in 2 and a half years with 20K miles, I wanted another accord. I had 8200 equity in my Fit EX and wanted a Accord EX for 23. My car insurance was going up 445 more on the Accord over 6 months. Horrible. The Civic was 440 more. The cheapest insurance increase was the 24 HRV EXL at 235 more. I got a Milano red with blind spot. Not the Accord but I refused to pay even more for insurance. I like my sun roof and leather interior plus large cargo capacity. Gas mileage sucks ass at 28 combined for Front wheel drive but I work at home. So far so good. I just got my insurance renewal and it went up. Thank god I didn’t get the Accord or Civic. It would be even more of a hike. I paid 29K, no mark ups, put 2K down. My Fit was 330 a month . My HRV EXL is 340 a month. I financed 20500.

Great video. I have purchased 5 Hondas in my life. i currently drive a FIT. adore it. but, i wanted the auto lift gate and some upgrades - so, i'm considering the HRV 23 MODEL year. but, i heard it's going to be a full 20" longer than the fit. that's a lot. I like buzzing in and out of places and i enjoy having the room in my garage. So, if it's just another big SUV i probably will just stay with my FIT.

Updated 4/5/2022: Happy we purchased the 2022 HRV (based on Fit platform) now that Honda has revealed the 2023 HRV (based on Civic platform). Others may prefer the 2023 HRV's newly styled front end however in my opinion it's not nearly as attractive as ours. The new longer hood also takes away some of the practicality of being small on the outside. Our base LX with 1.8 liter 140 hp front wheel drive is fun to drive and has plenty of power. Lightweight vehicles have very few circumstances needing more horsepower. Meets or exceeds EPA mileage ratings. We found this CVT powertrain to be nicely matched and similar to a car with traditional automatic transmission. Differences are only apparent under full acceleration or high-speed steep uphill freeway grades. On long grades rather than hunting for the appropriate gear (since it has none), the engine rpm will rise and fall repeatably. Enabling Sport Mode using the gearshift on these long climb's the rpm will quickly steady itself. We are perfectly happy with our 2022 LX having all the features we need. Purchased a couple of KONGDY Car Seat Pockets (gap fillers) from Amazon that provide additional storage for small items.

I find I can't use arm rests in the hrv so you're forced to sit like a driving student.I also struggle with the center console that barely allows you to store or organize anything. There's no engine temp read in out either. But the worst thing is the huge speedometer it's blocked by the steering wheel almost no matter where I adjust my set to my liking. Other than that it's a mechanicly sound vehicle that should last long after it's paid off

I have a 2020 Sport in milano red. Not underpowered in my opinion and the CVT is calibrated well to the engine. In fact the CVT in this is much better than the one in my 2018 Accord which I hate.

I know of no vehicle model run where the last model year was made worse than the first. Real Honda HR-Vs have rear door handles hidden in the window frame, and magic rear seats. In my opinion, the new 2023+ HR-Vs are not real HR-Vs, they are Civic Crossovers.

I have a 2016 HR-V EXL. From Day one it’s been in FT 🌱ECON🌱 mode. It’s fun, quick, sounds throaty. I have a blast driving it! I can use Sport mode or take it off ECON for more power. Mostly I use Sport mode for FUN! 🤩 And it’s always on ECON because, frankly, I’ve never had the need to change it. I live in the KC metro area. I’m looking to upgrade because my 20-yr-old grandson wants to buy mine. 😉

I drove a 2022 Honda HR-V hybrid for my road trip from San Francisco to Yellowstone National Park. I drove over 2100 miles and I average 32MPG for my trip.
What I like: camping mode works like wonder when I sleep in it in camping ground when temperature was around 30 degree. It was comfortable to sleep inside while the engine is keeping the temperature around 75 degree. Well equipment with technology: lane centering, blind spot monitor, power seat for both driver and passenger seats, moon roof, Adaptive Cruise Control.
What I don’t like: 32MPG is low for a hybrid vehicle. Lane centering is not reliable. Seat is very uncomfortable. It is the worst seat I have tried ever.

Mexican made have many issues, I don’t suggest this one. Like vent are running even if you turn them off. Mirrors are not heated, so if your weather is icy or you have ice rain, it is not possible to use the mirrors. Back up cam is not good at night time. You can’t see anything. It has 1.8Lt engine, so do not expect power. Well if you have money buy a CRV , if not . Only this one is available.
