Mahalo and thanks for watching!
Aloha pickle lady when I do my stir fry vegetables first, I usually seasoned the vegetables and then I throw the noodles in after, this way when you throw the noodles into the vegetables that are already seasoned it helps to coat the noodles and it minimizes the time of trying to incorporate the flavor into everything, constantly mixing and mixing and then if I need more seasoning after I've added the noodles with the vegetables I add more seasoning. This helps to lessen trying to mix and incorporate all the seasonings into the dish after you have placed the noodles in,. Another option is I have added my seasonings to a bowl and added a little bit of hot water to melt chicken powder or pork powder or anything of that sort along with oyster sauce sesame oil Etc and then pour it on top of the vegetables and noodles and mix as this helps to incorporate the flavors into the noodles because it's in sauce form.
at any rate I love your cooking very very much thank you for sharing❤❤❤
Mahalo nui loa

You can cut down the recipe for a smaller wok, but I have to cook a lot for big eaters and leftovers.
Right on Aunty.🤙🤙
Thank you Pickle Lady for sharing your recipes with us! Mahalo from Henderson, NV, a fellow Hawaiian islander.

Thanks for all the knowledge Aunty. 🙏 I'm from Oahu and trying to learn to cook Asian inspired local style on my own, and this channel helped alot.
Great, there are so many more recipes I want to share and will continue as long as possible.
Always wanted to make this. So easy. Mahalo
The first video I came across, was your Char siu video. My grocery cart has the meat in it because I am making it! I have been wanting to make Bao for some time but haven't had the motivation yet! So, Saimin is another dish I must make because I am convinced that my family would love it! Love your recipes!
Thank you so much. People are interested in my videos for the simplicity. The char siu recipes has over quarter of a million views. The bau always comes out good, so soft and fluffy and easy to make.
Used to skip Sunday school and go eat Saimin a few blocks away with my friends...
lol.
Ooohhh....I can smell it!!! Waianae girl here who now lives in Louisiana. I miss all this food so much! Will try this one for sure!
Thanks and so easy, all you use is the ramen packets and add anything you wants.
One of my comfort favorites.. thank you..
I can't find really good Saimin noodles anymore... I can't even find them to order online.. All the good ones must be in Hawaii and sold locally only.. We used to get these ones that were so wholesome chewy and delicious at our old Marukai market.. Lately the ones I've had just seemed like so much white flour and not the right texture... They don't carry the amount of Hawaiian products they used to.. Perhaps I should learn to make them
Yes, I miss a lot of stuff that we can't get here. Just have to substitute lol.
Yummy 😊😊
Looks delicious, not too oily at all.
I try not to use much oil.
looking so ono aunty👍 i use the dashi frm the noodles with spam n red n white kamaboko and a bag taro brand chop sui mix 🍜🌺🤙🌺
hi leonora kung hee fat choy your fried saimin looks good yours is different good idea to use dried saimin i will try that we like spam n kamabuko inside
Looks great, just think a couple cloves of chopped garlic would add a lot.
Thank you for sharing, looks so ono. 😊🤙🏽
Thank you Aunty! Much mahalos for da recipe🤙🏽
One of my favorites. I made it as a request from my daughter who was a teenager. She described it and I made it.
125 like.yummy.
Aunty, I always find it's easier to use tongs to mix up noodles. Don't get hurt Aunty! 🙏😘❤️❤️❤️
Your fried saimin looks ono! I make it very occasionally as a treat for my family, and we use whatever kind of meat and veggies we have available. That’s what’s great about fried noodles. 🤙🏽🌺
Yes, also just like making fried rice.
This was delicious and easy to make! Mahalo from Palm Springs CA!
Look good auntie
Leonora, I enjoyed your Fried Saimin recipe... I'm your "500" like... just found your recipe and anxious to try it. I make ono char siu from a Star-Bulletin 1997 recipe so I will use it as you did... do you know Kalihi? Aloha from Iowa!
Who is Kalihi? You can put anything in the saimin. Recipes are just a guide. Once you make it, you can change it according to your taste.
@@HawaiisPickleLady Kalihi is a town in Honolulu... and Star-Bulletin was the newspaper. Ty for your recipe. Aloha 🍍🌴
I love this recipe 😋Can’t wait to make this delicious recipe 😋
You will love how simple it is to make.
Looks so ono! U sure did a lot of prep! Ty for ur video!
Prep is time consuming. Cooking is fast.
Ono, thank you pickle lady I can make my own fried noodles now.

Thank you dear lady 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Mahalo again Aunty!
One of the most popular recipes but so simple and you can add anything.
Mahalo's Auntie!
Thank you auntie for sharing! I am going to make this for my ohana now😙God bless you ! Sending lots of alohas from Seattle Washington ❤🤗
I first learned this when my teenage daughter asked me to make. I just asked what it tasted like and what ingredients were in it.
I like to make my fried saimin with either spam or Chinese sausage 😋. Aloha from Hawaii 🤙🏽
I like to add portagee sausage in mine.
Yum😋 Classic💖👍🏽
Mahalo, eggs, shrimp, bean sprouts. Nothing better than this. Char siu is key!😊😊😊
Try portagee sausage!
Thanks for sharing!
Our pleasure!
I am not a fan of Raman noodles but this looks great
You could use any other type of noodles, dry or refrigerated in packages, avoiding all the salt and additives. A tip: The shiratake (yam) noodles only have about 20 calories per 7 oz package
It clear and looks like a clear but soft spaghetti noodle, packed in water. It is a little over a dollar. It is chewy and already cooked. Use it like pasta. It's tasteless so you can season with anything.
I usually use the broth to wet the saimin while cooking in the wok so it's not so sticky. I LOVE fried Saimin!
Okay….finally someone can answer my question. I always have trouble with making fried noodles because it gets so dry. Do you have it boiling on the side while you’re cooking everything else or do you put it in at room temp?
@locoHAWAIIANkane really doesn't matter. I just keep it in the pot after I boil my noodles and use as needed. I don't like it too dry either!
@@cherylmedeiros6287 OH! So you cook the noodles in the dashi FIRST….and then put it in the fried saimin…???
@locoHAWAIIANkane that's how I do it. Gives it a bit more flavor.
@@cherylmedeiros6287 AH!!! I see…..mahalo nui for the tips! Okay so after you cook the fried saimin, you add the dashi at the end?
👍💜👍💜👍💜
Hello Leonara can you add komabuko and eggomelt for flavor and color to this dish.
I changed the recipe in You Tube and added kamaboko and eggs.
Looks tasty & simple to make. I think I may use spam cause hard to find char siu in Colorado that is ono. I know I not going make it myself either lol.
Spam works. Try my char siu recipe. Trust me, it is easy and so delicious made from pork butt. Better than many shops that I've tasted. There are over 290,000 views on that.
Looks easy and delicious!! I think even I could make this. I have a wok I've never used 😮 Can you gave this dish as a leftover? How would you reheat it? Thanks so much!!
A wok is just easier and not as messy as a frying pan where all the stuff splashes around. Just reheat in the skillet or microwave. It does wonders for leftovers.
You made so much fried Saimin you could feed all your CZcams viewers...... 😂..lol
Can you post a sauce you make for your pork shumai?
There is a recipe for siu mai, Cantonese pronunciation. All recipes are on my website, hawaiispicklelady.com. Look under dim sum or pork hash. Usually we don't use sauce but you can use soy sauce with Chinese mustard powder made into a paste, oyster sauce or any sauce of your choice.
We're you a teacher at highland intermediate?
No I wasn't. I am an occupational therapist.
You poor thing you don’t have anyone to help you mix that up and do taste tests with. I’m available if you need a taste tester. 🤣🤣🤣
This white girl has no idea what Saimin is. I even googled it but all that came up was soup. You mentioned the recipe was on your website, but what category is it under?
Saimin is the Chinese word for all kinds of noodles, sai means small, min means wheat noodles. You are familiar with ramen? Same thing. So many varieties from Japan best known as Maruchan, Top Ramen, Sapporo. Packages come from China, Korea, Thailand, Phillipines, etc. In Hawaii, when one goes to eat at a saimin shop, it is usually soup based with sometimes won ton (dumplings) and garnished with char siu (Chinese sweet roasted pork (recipe on the website under pork), green onions, and some type of greens. Fried saimin is the noodles in the package without the sauce packet and it is dry but moist. Look under noodles in the website. Hope this helps.
