How to Make Ableton Quantize MIDI Notes As You Play Them

- Whether it's because of latency or imperfect timing, playing MIDI notes on the beat is really hard. Fortunately, there's an Ableton feature where you can tell it to snap all MIDI notes to the grid, according to whatever time division you select. This short tutorial shows how to enable that feature for occasions when you want your MIDI to have perfect timing.

I've forgotten this channel, the Ableton's bible. Glad to see it again!
This is pretty dope. Can you... "un-quantize" by a percentage like you can with manual quantization? That'd be particularly helpful for loosening the groove a little bit.
Adjust the swing
Go to groove pool select any groove put timing and velocity to zero and random to 100 and press the arrow ( found in groove pool section of the midi clip)
This os for live 11.1
You can also quantize the whole set of midi notes after the fact, choosing which grid to snap to. You can also partially quantize the notes by using the amount percentage at the bottom of the quantize tool.
Very good points
another epic tip i've never seen before. thank you
Nice, happy to deliver!
man THANK YOU. have been trying to find this for a while i’m new to ableton so i was moving notes manually 24/7 and kinda getting frustrated because i didn’t know where to find this
Glad I could help!
Thank you like always 🙏🏽
This is dope!
Thx can’t wait to try. This was bothering me
Love those tips
My Cubase teacher said: you can't master a track on Ableton: it's just for live performance.
For me it's just a DAW. If you say that, you clearly don't know very well a program... Ableton has a lot of features hidden. Yeah. Cubase has Vari-Audio, but the interface is awful. And yeah... Cubase let's you manage better more audio interfaces... But that doesn't make it better in every way... Also. For example some artists like Deadmau5 use Cubase on live and Ableton in studio, so they're just DAW.
Yeah man you can definitely master a track in Ableton
Ya bro def not true Ableton is so versatile these days u can really make anything u want on there, And not to mention all the 3rd party plugins available now a days u shouldn’t have no problem mixing and master tracks on ableton.
Jist listen to your teacher and learn what he is teaching. Each n Every soundengineer use its own strategy. Its all about strategy. There are 100s or plugins in wavesbundle thats doesnt mean you gonna put all those in a track. Make sence. Right?
No need to criticize cubase interfere. Thats a legendary daw. You dont have standard to criticize cubase stupid.
@@seshdevsingh4183 I've listened to him to learn Cubase, but at the end it just feels like an awful version of Live but with all the new features that Ableton doesn't want to introduce (even lacks on Wasapi on Windows... A Windows 7 feature meant to be like Coreaudio and every other daw has that, but not Live...)
😮each an evry day i unravels abeltone secret setings btw nice tabla beat
Thanks!
Man you re genius. Have u read an Ableton instruction, haven’t you? 😊
I would love your Ebook. Thanks for the tips !
I feel like a fail because the ebook was supposed to be out months ago, and I've been so busy that it's still only three quarters done. I promise I'm working on it though!
@@AbleinAbleton Don't man? You're providing genuinely helpful content in the meantime and it is appreciated. Take your time and get it right
We will wait! Np
Sick!!!

Wow
I love the sound, which synth are you using?
And thanks for the awesome tip!!
Thanks man! Honestly I don't remember, but I'm guessing either Serum, Dune3, or Thorn
THANKYOU NOONE HAS A VID ON THIS
CHEERS :)
Does this work when you’re recording midi via an external instrument? As a work around for latency?
when's that ebook coming
I just knocked out half a dozen more tips yesterday, we're gettin there...
What instrument patch are you using?
This was a Serum preset from a synthwave pack
Ableton needs your location
Haha, they'll never find me. I'm too quick!
Why you are fighting with beats specially tabla chata... And the way you used tabla😂😂😂😂😂... Before you start making a song, just decide your genre first, then go to wiki, learn about the exact style and length and rules.
