Summer of ‘80 was when I discovered the sweet citrus soda we know as Mountain Dew. It was made with real sugar back then, not high fructose corn syrup.
Adam, I have been following your video escapades for some time now and I would just like to compliment you. I am impressed by the way continue to grow as a documentarian. Your stuff just keeps on getting better and better. The drone footage is spectacular. The idea of a perpetual road trip is fantastic. Brother, you make it all look so easy, but I can only imagine the hours and hours of work you put in that no one ever sees. Adam, I admire you very much and look forward to my daily dose of Daily Woo. Take care, my vicarious friend.
Thank you Adam for all you do. When I was pregnant and done working, I spent my days catching up on all of your videos, phone propped up on my belly. Now my baby is almost 3 months and I think he recognizes your voice because many times when he wakes up and I watch your videos to pass the time late at night he falls right to sleep. Like it's comforting. Lol
The drone footage is amazing! I am one woofan who doesn't take your daily production work for granted. Nice job!
thank you Steve
+adamthewoo You should get some cKy albums. "Carver City", "Infiltrate Destroy Rebuild", or "B-sides and Rarities". HIM is also a good band. They're from Finland.
l agree. Recent vlogs have featured some amazing footage, and slick editing. Totally could be HollyWoo productions!
I just want to say thank you so much for your vlogs, they make me smile every day before i go to sleep here in Australia. You've also inspired me to start my own vlogs/youtube channel. Thank you Adam, thank you
Three points. 1:Mountain Dew, the drink of professional drivers. 2: The barber shop building resembles The Spirit of St Louis. 3: Beautiful sunset. Thank you Adam!
Awesome drone footage of World's Fair Park! I was actually down there in the area Saturday night. Also, gotta love that you stopped by the old Airplane filling station. Another great vlog Adam!!! Just wish you'd been able to do a meet n greet while you were here.
thanks Matt, the worlds fair stuff is so cool
I wanted to help you with the drone SD card so bad!!!
Those three wheel things are uglier than sin I call them handicap motorcycles
Have a great day !
have a mountain dew for me. it was my favorite drink and i can't drink them anymore because they give me headaches
You too adam!
Thanks Adam! You as well!
U2
u have a good summer adam!
I just can't tell you how great these vlogs are. I look forward to them each day. keep on doing good work.
I still use the Simpsons line, "Remember everyone, we're parked under the Sun Sphere."
totally in a simpsons episode, nice!
Ted Willson We always use the "remember we're parked in Itchy lot." From the Simpsons also.
Disappointing it was not full of wigs.
Good morning and an even better day, Adam! :-D Thanks again for all you do, the BTTF, Big Fish, and Jim Varney vlogs were re-watched again last night! :)
Love your comment about the fountain! Hilarious! And...so glad that you got out of the cemetery okay! Your vlogs always make our day! Prayers for safe travels.
Adam, I genuinely love what you're doing and watch you just about every day. Keep it up!! I love all the history you also add to the show. The respect you show to people is admirable. I can't wait to see your new adventures. Enjoy your circle of goodness!
I've ridden around Knoxville when I visited my family.
Some of them work in Knoxville.
Thanks for the tour.
I attended the 1982 World's Fair!! So glad I found your channel! I love it!!
Cool video, I was at the 1982 Worlds Fair with my Grandmother. We drove from Salisbury, N C in her 1975 green Cadillac Sedan De Ville :) was a fun trip and event to go to .
I love the irony of when he begins to tell the story of mtn dew, you can see him drive by a coke~cola truck.
That's funny considering it's a Pepsi cola product lol
That truck following you on the cemetery gave me the chills. Please be careful out there!! Gorgeous sunset at the end!!!!
I traveled to the same area a few months ago to film a vlog. I appreciate all of the detail you went into. Great video!
thanks so much
duh
?
Thanks for letting us go on your travels with you!
I was there in 1982! I was 8 years old. Thanks for showing what it looks like now.
Another cool video. My wife and I went to the World's Fair in Knoxville back in '82. It was pretty awesome. They had a restaurant in the sphere back then. Thanks.
Hey Adam, thanks for going to the Sunsphere. I was there in 82, and got pushed into that body of water! You brought back some interesting memories.
Things I loved about the video:
1) Woobraham Lincoln
2) Sunsphere - Great shots!!!
3) Water fountain sign
4) MT. DEW!!!
5) Woo not insane
6) Airplanes
7) Closing shot (There was actually a "Vlog Over")
good morning Adam. I had a very anxious night. It's good to have your videos to look forward to.
Thanks for having me along on this adventure adam this is awsome
Ah, the "birthplace" of Mountain Dew, how stellar!
Your videos trigger so many wonderful memories. I too remember my first taste o' the Dew. It was on a family vacation to Smoky Mountains National Park in 1963. My dad took a lot of pictures as slides, and meticulously cataloged them which helps keep these memories alive and accurate.
Part of the fun of road trips back then was stopping at the gas station. They would have brands and flavors of soda pop, root beer, and cream soda you'd never seen before. Anyway, we stopped at a gas station in Kentucky that had a Daniel Boone theme and there was this pop called Mountain Dew. I was drawn to it, and had to have it. That first swig was amazing! I saved the bottle (and many others over those years) as a souvenir. As you noted, a few years later Pepsi bought the formula and it was in every grocery store. But I'll always remember that first Dew. Thanks for showing me where it was made. :o)
The 1982 Knoxville world’s fair became a running gag on David Letterman’s late night show. I remember when he put together a 16 unit toaster and bragged that it came from the Knoxville world’s fair, home of the world’s largest toaster.
Good morning Adam, another excellent vlog as usual! Hello from Signal Mountain, hope to see you around Chattanooga this week.
The next city down, Lenoir City, is where my husband and I met, married, had our first baby..... also has a large dam. You can walk out on the locke and see where the big boats and barges come in from the lake and get lowered to the river. Really nice place. check it out if you have time. Tellico Dam
Absolutely!! Beautiful area, Fort Loudon, and lots of Cherokee history in Vonore.
Still in touch with your inner child I see. YAY That fountain sign startling. .And really fun to hear about the birth of Mountain Dew.
While a graduate student at the University of Tennessee from 1973-1977, I visited the Old Gray Cemetery and it was much better maintained at that time. There are a number of beautiful and elaborate sculpted Victorian era grave markers there worth seeing. All of the World's Fair construction began after I left and that was new to me. I never knew that Mountain Dew originated in Knoxville -- strangely, I never heard one world about that while living in Knoxville. For a brief period in the mid-1970's, the airplane looking structure briefly operated as business named the "Flying High Head Shop" (gee, I wonder why).
I would have rode my hoverboard through that fountain. Time lapse sunset was pretty awesome with the way it changed colors so drastically. From now on I'm calling it Mountain Woo.
That wasn't a time lapse. The cars were really driving that fast. ;)
lol, I didn't even notice them. Had to watch it again.
Davros Von Skaro Still chuckling about the "Mountain Woo" btw.
I made a photoshop of it in case he makes a t shirt of it. photobucket link - i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt50/chrisnimon/mtnwoo_zps2wfs9xad.jpg
Hoverboards don't work on water ! Unless you have POWER!
I would have been so mad if I couldn't get that mini sd out. Luckily you got it. Now we can see more beautiful drone shots. Have a great day.
Good morning! What a fantastic sunset. I've been through Knoxville many times and never realized it was the home of Mt Dew. How cool is that?!
I could barely get past that epic match between Arnold and Woobraham Lincoln. THAT"S RIGHHHHT!!! That's some funny stuff Adam. You crack me up every day yet I always learn something. I love Mountain Dew and have been drinking that stuff for like 40 years. Never knew until today though where it was invented. I find a few nuggets of value in every vlog you make...and then the rest is just pure entertainment. You make me laugh, and on days like today sometimes I really need that. Thanks!
As a repair tech, I cringed when you were using the pocket knife to remove the stuck SD card. Fortunately, you stopped and got more appropriate tool. Nice job.

Every day a different adventure. Every day another reason to smile. Thanks, Adam.
Fun fact, my wife used to work with the son of Bill Bridgeforth, the one who first revamped the Mountain Dew formula before it was purchased by Pepsi. His son also wrote a book on the history of Mounfain Dew, titled "Mountain Dew: The History."
As a fellow Mississippi boy (Jackson), I attended the 82' World's Fair. It was also my first trip to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge as well as Rock City in Chattanooga. However, I assure I was not the impetus for the diarrhea placard. :) Safe travels Adams!!
The flavor of Mountain Dew was actually first produced in Johnson City TN by Tri-City Beverage. They also produced a beverage called Dr Enuf. Which is very popular in the area it's sold !!
Mountain Dew is causing great suffering.
Both are sold in western North Carolina. I bought 2 Dr Enufs today.
Tammy Ferghuson "Dr Enuf" a Dr.Pepper rripoff, obviously!
@@SteveCarras have you ever drank a Dr Enuf ?? It taste nothing like a Dr Pepper !!! It is only offered a in limited market area !!!
@@tammyferguson2707 my dad loves orange soda along with a big bag of pigskins.
Some awesome cruising tunes,Pump is one of my favorite albums, excellent choice Adam!
This World's Fair Park and River Front Park in Spokane (visited earlier this summer by Adam The Woo) are the two sites by the two smallest cities ever to host a World's Fair. Great stuff!!
A short time ago i watched your previous daily woo where you visited the Sun Sphere! Watching a bunch of people down below doing some sort of aerobics. 😊
That time lapse of the sunset was fantastic! I'm loving these vlogs everyday!
I remember the World's Fair commercial they'd play ad nauseam. It had a silly robot in it. We never made it there; so thank you for showing what we missed.
If I wasn't in school right now I would have loved to show you Knoxville in its full glory but I'm happy that you had the chance to come to my hometown😄
Hi, adam My Father took us here for the world's fair in 1982 it was awesome I was 13 yrs old then you wld of really enjoyed yourself.
It's so cool finally seeing places that I have been to on Adam's videos!
Thanks for showing where Mountain Dew was invented. Never knew where it was created. My favorite soda.
So cool seeing you film videos where I live! Hope you enjoy yourself.
I put ur vids on everyday during my cardio man....they are great and my 15 mins go by in know time. cheers!
Morning from florida, beautiful majestic shots, see you tomorrow
The only World's Fair I ever went to was there! I was 8 years old. My grandparents drive to Knoxville from Gadsden, Alabama to buy my uncle a car. They took me to the World's fair for a few hours. I never forgot it!
Hey! We just watched this vlog. We live in Tennessee near the Great Smoky Mountains. Just wanted to let you know that the old Knoxville High School has been remodeled and is now a Senior Adult Living Center with apartments for the elderly. It is really cool inside and outside. You should make a trip back over here to East Tennessee to see some more cool things.
If you assume you're insane, odds are you're probably not. You're just more free than most folks. Thanks Adam.
The Adam College of Drone repair. Stage one tech no cursing, stage two cursing ,
Stage three, Drone fly away forever.
Went to the Worlds Fair, I was young 16 years old then. I don't remember a lot, but remember they had a large arcade and I played Dig Dug for the first time. Also got one of the Rubik's Cubes with either 4 or 5 rows. I remember is was more than the standard 3. "1982 World's Fair, you got to be there!"
I remember Mountain Dew in 1966. It was available at the liquor store across the street from us that summer. It came in a green bottle with the "yahoo" hillbilly printed on the neck. For years after that, it became really hard to find. Finally, its distribution became common in 1973 and has been a regular staple on grocery shelves since.
I just subbed. I love Mountain Dew too and appreciate the history you told of it. Nice!
Awesome video Adam hope you enjoyed Knoxville. Really wish we could have crossed paths, but maybe on your next trip through ill catch a wild woo lol. and as always thanks again for an awesome morning
Thank you for going up into the Sun Sphere. I was in Knoxville for the World's Fair back when it was there.
Hilarious... just catching up on your vlogs. Now your in your RV in Texas. Glad you saved the majestic this day. Hope you make it back to Cincinnati.
Your best ever! You make my life better every day. Keep up the good work! What you do is what we want, to explore. You can and are doing it! You are family to me.
They just recently refurbished that little airplane gas station. Enjoy my home town Chattanooga!! Can't wait to see where all you visit there. :)
Aerosmith, Mountain Dew, Tennessee... I swear I think I'm sending you subliminal messages on where to go and what to do :~)! What a fun road trip!
Your time lapse sunset was amazing!!!! My day is NOT complete with out u Adam!!! U bring sunshine to my day !!!
Justin Scarred would be proud
heck yes !!
Poor thing, he misses you so much I'm sure.
Wow! Nice sunset footage Adam!
Does anyone remember "Cactus Cooler"?
I remember when Mountain Dew first got distributed in 1966;.. also Fresca with "cyclamates" (carcinogenic sweetener) & TAB.
Yah-hoo! Mt. Dew!
those delicious cyclamates of the early seventies
Cactus Cooler can still be had from Safeway or Save Mart. And yes, I remember the first time I had Cactus Cooler, from a vending machine at Stovall's Inn. Now... does anyone know where Stovall's Inn is located...? Hint... Adam has been in the area MANY times....
I haven't seen cactus cooler for a long time; I thought is was gone. The first place I saw Cactus cooler was in the Desert, at a gas station, probably Barstow.
I know where Stovall's Inn is Now; I driven by it many times and didn't know.
Mr. Johnson I still buy Cactus Cooler. How many of you remember "Kickapoo Joy Juice"?
I thought that was just a euphemism for a beer on the "Flintstones ".
That time lapse of the 🌞set was pretty frickin' AWESOME!
great video. .... can't wait for the next video
Thanks for that amazing sunset footage!
I love your videos! I look forward to them everyday😊
Lol, I knew exactly what the majestic was going to look like after you had your go with the knife. I've done the same when frustrated.
B-52s "Love shack" that's hilarious and a good song! Awesome video Adam! lol
Adam you make my day with your daily vlogs!!
Nice drone footage of my town. Glad you got that card out!
Knoxville High is closed now?! Hot damn I feel old! 15 years ago (I swear it seems like yesterday) I took my GED! I had just moved to knoxville w/ my parents didn't want to go to a new school my senior year. I took it with a man who mumbled out loud... I'm proud to say I got the highest score possible lol. I remember sitting on those stairs waiting for my mom to pick me up... I was a miserable teenager who missed home (AZ), but I came to love knoxville and spent about 10 years there on and off. It's my 2nd home. Ugh I miss it!!!!
Thank you Adam for another great vlog
Safe travels. So enjoy the road trips with fun stops. 😁
As a Tennessean it's easy to take our rich history for granted. Thanks for the vlogs, Adam.
Ah, Mountain Dew, my favorite soda ever, and has given me so many more flavors of it to love - White Out, Live Wire, Pitch Black, Game Fuel, and Sangrita Blast (which they need to bring back asap).
Thanks for sharing Adam!
Thumbs up for that sunset time lapse. Awesome!
The old mountain dew used to have " brewed by jed and clem " on the bottle or can.
That was an awesome intro laughing out of control you are the man you never fail to put a smile on my face !!!😆😆😆
Laughing and learning...the gift of your daily vlogs. Love 'em!
Thanks for another great time 😀 take care and God bless
Such a funny vlog today, made me smile alot that's for sure. Can't wait for tomorrow's vlog 💙
thanks for watching , as always
I saw one of those cars/bike looking things in the beggining of your video earlier today on a tv commercial and pointed it out to my boyfriend, so much irony lol
Exceptional blog Adam.Love the Mountain Dew
I just start watching your videos a few months ago. I really enjoy them! It's great to see that you're in Knoxville. Enjoy your stay. And, yeah, I could've told you about Old Gray Cemetery. LOL They used to keep it better manicured in days gone by. The homeless have kind of taken it over. There's is also New Gray Cemetery over off of Western Ave. It's not a bad place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. LOL
~Sam
The Mountain Dew segment is about the funniest thing I've ever seen - great stuff
I'm in the hospital and im watching the daily woo. They need to stream the woo because laughter is the best medicine.
"You know what honey I just had some leftover not so good Salisbury steak lets go down to the world fair area and play in the fountain" LMAO I just kept rewinding this. Literally crying from laughter.
God is so awesome to give us such beauty as that sunset. Beautiful majestic colors. I have to admit that is the very best time laps of a sunset I have ever seen. Thank you for sharing Adam. Travel safe and be blessed!
Another interesting looking day you are having. I wondered whether that cemetery might be where Green Burials take place. Just a thought there. Glad you were able to get the card out but, sorry for the loss of whatever was on it..
