Less pwr in this one, but more tq. These new ones are the same weight and not really any quicker unless you get hybrid. The 8 spd auto hunts for gears or doesnt know what gear its in in these plus if you live in warm (85° climes) you will see hotter enhone and coolant temps, as turbos create lots of heat. I can see the turbo engime being a issue in hot or humid climes.

    • @ryanb8736

@@08turboSS That’s not true. Also gone is the dreaded clutch fan. All new electric fans are installed for added cooling.
You are wrong. These will not be overheating because of turbo. Your information is incorrect. The engine bay may get warmer, but will not make it overheat.
Toyota knows what they are doing. They’ve done years of testing.

Placed an order for a stick shift ‘24 Tacoma yesterday. Put down a small deposit, and was told not to waste any luck on anything in hopes that one may actually be available for me to buy. The dealership, which is a fairly large one in my area, said they had 2 stick shift Tacomas in all of 2023 and one was bought by a guy from over 500 miles away. The offer of a manual is all well and good. But, if a consumer can’t actually purchase one then what’s the point? Other than to say, “see? Nobody wants them! They’re not being sold!” When in reality they’re just not available to those that want one.
I’ll wait until April or so then take my deposit back and go get a Gladiator.

@@DragonKnightX12 The manual trans is stronger, less complicated, more reliable, less to maintain than the auto. Toyota is dealing with "product liability". Mainly in the form of "operator error". A lot more things can go wrong with a product when left to the operation and judgement of the owner. It' so much easier to automate everything and nothing left to the operator.

It's all sales. Americans by large buy Auto. Most Americans just looking for useful truck or simple transportation, doesn't want to row gears. Really only enthusiasts that buy manual in the States.
Where as overseas manuals are super common. Most people in Europe learn to drive with a stick shift.
