New Age product description distinguishes between the Bold and Pro models. It’s clear from their descriptions the heavier gage Pro cabinets are more robust than the Bold and more appropriate for the type of heavy use and treatment you describe.
Just installed the same set and I have to say I disagree with some of your points. With the units levelled and anchored properly, all the doors align quite nicely, and they can be shimmed upward using small washers where needed. Only one of my tall cabinets needed one door shimmed and it’s because it was slightly out of level. Are they industrial grade cabinets, absolutely not. But they’re plenty strong for your average hobbyist garage and I believe that’s what they’re advertised as.
I respect your opinion on the product. I feel differently. I have the 14pc set. They came in perfect with no damage of any kind. I looked at the Gladiator /Kobalt/ Craftsman etc stuff and this was and still is a much better set and less money overall. I own awhile set of Gladiator metal cabinets and they are terrible
what accs do or did you have on the khaos? i recently bought a 17 SBA 800 and im looking at getting some accesories, attachments, hand guards and skid plates, and i would like to hear your suggestions. thanks you and thanks for the review!
@@Jesus-po2uu I ended up buying New Age Pro for my shop, but I also have some New Age Bold in my garage. I’m happy with the Pro. The bold series dimensions are too small for any serious workbench. Good luck!
Great video Louie good to see you get back to the basics regarding your videos and your super honest reviews. I wish you all the best with your new shop and love the content
I bought the Pro set a couple years ago just because I was afraid the bold set looked cheap and flimsy. I really like the pro set. I have a ton of weight in the drawers and they soft close smoothly and the cabinets feel solid. My drawers don’t line up perfectly but much better than what’s yours look like. I got a 16 piece pro set when it was 33% off and around $3,800. Very expensive but buy once, cry once.
Great video bud, cheers from North Gower 🍻. What’s causing that wobble in the steering wheel of that 96? Having same issues with my sled and she won’t get over 50kmh.
How is the stainless table top holding up. Does it scratch up easy, can I bolt a vise to it, and hammer stuff on the top or will I destroy it? Im going with the pro series. But debating between the bamboo or stainless top. Thanks for the review Mate☺👍👍👍
I have the bold set and I do have some complaints, however I am not going to stand on the drawers , twist the slides and yank on the doors. The cabinets do what I ask and that is to keep my junk organized. Yes there are primo cabinets out there for a primo price. I wish we could go to a place that has all the available units in one place so we can compare all the yea's' and nay's and make a decision based on comparison, but we can't. Nice video but when home shops have husky, kobalt, sears or gladiator available, the new age are far above what that group has to offer. New age was quick to respond to my concerns and that was great. Most of those were with shipping damage and not the manufacture proper. I will recommend the new age every time and while the install process was tedious, the end result suits me just fine. The door gaps are always the most noticeable and again thanks for your review .......................
Good to hear real reviews thank you. This is the 12 piece set? You refer to price point frequently What was purchase price on these? On the door mis-alignment issue some times if wall is not true shimming is required for either plumb or on the horizontal. If they are not your cabinets may follow their shape (or mis-shape) and cause them to be out of square. Hope you can get it as it can be frustrating. Good luck!
You are spot on, I just installed mine i have the 8 piece set, wall construction etc could be alot better, as soon as I unpacked my first piece I knew right away . I wish I would have spent another 2or 3k and bought the Haley Cabinets
I looked at garage cabinets as a one-time purchase that would last as long as I would and went with the pro series about three years ago. Other than a little misalignment on a few doors(probably due to my not being exact with my leveling) they have performed exceptionally well for me. That flimsiness you show on the bold series would not make me happy, either.
But then again, good consumer support? Hard to find these days, sometimes. I bet you could ask for the handles for the doors to arrive unglued, so you can glue them and set them yourself to the doors at the correct adjustment. Heck I bet they'd send you something extra to glue on the top of those removable tool boxes (like the one you pulled out). Because in my experience, if they've got good consumer support, then everything you don't like about it can be fixed. like "hey the top of these removable tool boxes are a bit flimsy, could you kindly bend something slightly thicker to fit on top of it?". I've had tons of great product from places with terrible support that wouldn't even send me a couple extra bolts that snapped during assembly "because we don't carry bolts in our inventory". So then I have to take the bolts down to the store to find a match using 15 bucks in fuel when they could've sent it in a letter for 3 bucks.
@@PowerModzOfficial the Canadian tire maximum units are better than the New Age Bold. I was going to buy the pro but they’re pretty good. I just need to buy a large table top to go across 3 work benches so it’s a perfect surface. No gaps.
It’s so disappointing to spend a good amount of money for something only to find it’s cheaply made - looks nice from a distance though - if that helps ha ha ha
Built in obsolescence.... ya. This idiotic "keeps the economy going" mentality has got to go. What's more important? Ecology, which keeps life alive. Or economy, a human invention. Bring back the 1800s, where they built stuff to last!! With modern technology of course.
For the price what else would you get? There are other metal cabinet options but they are double the cost.
You never mentioned what set you would buy for your price point that would be better? What set for same price would be better?

Did you install it correctly and square up and level the cabinet installs? Just curious
What about the pro series with thicker gauge metal?

Louis where in the world did you get that Xmr radiator cover? I need to find one for the old Outlander Xmr in just that color!
Go on the XMR monsters group on Facebook and ask for one!
Would it help to spray the insides with a bed liner to stiffen them up and feel tougher?
I dont think I'd waste the money to be honest.

I think all said and done was 3400 - pretty sad eh.

Thank you for your honest review!!!
I would suggest taking a look at husky tool chests. I think the make stuff like that.
Also those CZcamsrs could have got that for free and are doing a review on it for money
But ugly. I know I don't want my space looking like a black hole. If they'd offer a gray, it would be acceptable. At least their pro line.
Appreciate the review!! Look forward to more.
More to come!
Sonic cabinets are the way to go, plus they make good tools with nice tool inlays that fit the drawers perfectly.
Except the fact that they are roughly 4X the price…your comparing a ford Ranger XL To a Raptor
Ya thats the tough part.
This set is $1600 usd. Respectfully, what exactly were you expecting?
I think 3400 can...more that what I got is that ok?
I don't blame you. Those doors not lining up are unacceptable and i'm surprised home depot/lowes wouldn't give you your money back.
