A lot of very funny people have a very serious core and are prone to depression. They see humor in everything but there is little humor in their actual lives. Robin Williams was one of those people that brought laughter to millions but sadly didn't have someone that could bring it to him when it was needed. Comedy is an escape from the torture of mundane everyday life and just because you have the gift of being able to make others laugh it doesn't mean that you go through life laughing and enjoying it. Some of the funniest people ever were miserable and angry because although they saw humor in so many things they also saw and felt the pain that they used their humor to escape from. He was an amazing talent and is greatly missed.

if your going for Carol Burnett's show. Remember, it was LIVE, when they lost it. We saw it. And I see it in the comments but, yes, the "Elephant story" is great. Tim Conway was a regular on her show and also incredible at improvising. As I understand it, in rehearsals, while the other had their lines, and directions on page handed to them. He was basically handed pages with large blank sections just so he could fill what he wanted.

Mr. Tudball and Mrs. Swiggins, Gone with the wind skit- the famous dentist skit with Harvey Korman and Tim Conway- I cld go on and on- plz do more reaction to this show Ty- There’s the “Mama’s Family“ ones ;(which became a whole spin off show) because it was loved so much! I don’t remember seeing this particular skit with Robin- I always loved Carroll’s highly requested Tarzan yell when she’d come out on stage- oh and the skits with Tim Conway playing the old man shuffling his feet and Carol’s version of the “old woman”.. when they’d crack up mid sentence, it was the best, and it happened often!! Tim and Harvey were fantastic together! And Vicky and Caroll- The fab 4!! Love the late Robin Williams, however there’s soooo many other skits Ty has to see of this show! Sending love Ty-💛🤘🏼✌️

To be clear, The Carol Burnett Show was not a sit-com, it was a variety show with singing, dancing, and comedy sketches. Robin Williams was a guest star on the show for that sketch, and there probably are not many more with him. Tim Conway was a frequent guest in the early years, and became a regular later on. They did two shows, one that was taped for broadcast and another that was more "adult". Tim was famous of often causing Harvey Korman (a regular on the show) to break up during their sketches together.

You should see "The Dentist" from the Carol Burnett show. Tim Conway and Harvey Korman are hilarious. Especially Harvey Korman who tries to stop laughing. I heard that he even peed his pants because it was so funny.

One thing you need to know : The first take was the live rehearsal done the afternoon before they did the live broadcast in front of the studio audience. So the first take was probably exactly the script, whereas the second take was the live broadcast. Unfortunately, Robin Williams was not a regular on the Carol Burnett Show. However, Tim Conway was a master at going off script, and I agree, please watch the Elephant Story with Tim Conway........you will laugh. And by the way, in the elephant story, if I am not mistaken, both takes were live.......

For heaven's sake, watch the Elephant skit! These were live performances by the best in the business. Many others to enjoy plus the outtakes. Brilliant but never vicious.
