One of the worst parts about Slapfighting is that many people who aren’t enveloped in the MMA space think that all fight fans are into it. I’d say the majority of them aren’t, probably because people who watch MMA know how stupid and illogical it is to have a sport where you are REQUIRED to get hit with your chin up and hands down. It gives them the impression that fight fans are just brainless violence fanatics. I don’t see how a commission could ever allow it.
If you think commissions in any country/state run on anything other than corruption and bribery, you’re already 10 steps behind kid

The f'd part is, they ain't even really slapping each other. They're basically using palm strikes. And getting clubbed by the lower half of someone's hand isn't much better than taking a punch.

Honestly the power slap endorsement is wild to me. If they want to expand they should’ve done like ONE championship and ingrained kickboxing like Glory into UFC Events. Then you can have superfights. Like the UFC kickboxing champ vs MMA champ

UFC is a western venture capitalist company, really all they do is try to jump on ANYTHING that will result in them making tonnes of money quickly. Crypto, NFT, fad "sports" like this. As long as it's quick and easy. Making a full kickboxing league is too hard and ultimately won't net as much as monopolising a trend until it dies.

Ariel, as uncomfortable as the Strickland interviews can be you have to either let these fighters be completely themselves or don't have them on. You gotta keep that standard of having an open, un-biased platform for fighters to speak on.
Its really hard for me to marry the words from Dana White of the past, with a man who would create/promote this slap fight thing. Imagine spending DECADES to educate the public and the commisions about the beauty, skill and sport in MMA. Then immediately, and UNDER the UFC brand, create a thing where people have to exclusively hit an unmoving and undefending opponent in the head. It's a giant step backwards in my opinion.
Try being a die-hard Browns fan, probably two or three years older than you. We missed our window from '86-'89 because we ran into Elway during those AFC Championships. At least your Bills have made it to the big show. We still have yet to make an appearance.
