That means that the source of you, that inner being, is all colors as one. The holy sadhu's (not the fake photo baba's) know this well. Hey Mate! would like to correct you here...The origin of River Ganga is the Gaumukh Glacier near Gangotri ton in Uttarkashi District of Uttrakhand state not the Devprayag. The name Ganga of the river starts from Devprayag and the original name is Bhagirathi River. So from the source Gaumukh till Devprayag, the river is called as Bhagirathi then from Devprayag the same river is known the Ganga.
RUCHI SHUKLA for this kind of knowledge, you dont have to be preparing for any exam, these are from our sanskriti, Go n know your sanskriti
Ganga is confluence of two river baghirathi and alaknanda. So devprayag is where baghirathi and alanknanda meet and from there I is known as Ganga.

and made her one of the most polluted rivers in the world....
Why can't we bring changes in our religious practices and make strict laws for industries regarding this
Alakananda and bhagirathi also known as the saas bahu rivers meet to form Ganga at devprayag. However, the origin of alaknanda is satopanth glacier and bhagirathi is from gangotri glacier. So it is bhagirathi which was the heavenly river which came down to earth when bhagirath did tapasya.
Devprayag is the confluence and that is where Ganga starts. Before Devprayag, it's Bhagirathi. Bhagirathi's origin is Gomukh. So he ain't wrong. And he said "formed" not "originated"

The place of what you put in thumbnail , where bhagirathi and alaknanda mix together and it become ganga. The place is near from my nani village and we can see the both rivers mixing from our village.
