This is truly an insane setup, that's essentially like a $200k turntable. You can get a pretty awesome setup (by most standards) for the cost of his backup cartridge.
I’ve installed a similar system into my garden shed, so I can listen to music as I lick my tomatoes 👍🏻
I know I will sound different, but I can't help falling in love with a piece of Beautiful music played on 30 years old radio rather than cacophony played on $1000000 unnecessarily complicated amplifiers.
You sound as a very jelous person i am afraid ....
@@nebod1556 Very sad, so much money for so poor result...
if you had a chance to experience any SERIOUS HiFi gear in person, especially listening to your favorite music, you would cry like a lil girl. It is that good.
Nah. I don't think so. @@zexedearth89
i know what a silly comment he made saying for such a poor result but there was no way it can translate through compression of youtube let alone the system that we have listen to it on that's not even going into room design it just goes on and on@@zexedearth89
1M bucks, WOW! And here I am enjoying my 23 years old Hi-FI (on which I spend about $1000 in 1997 money) thinking how sweet it sounds.
I don't know if it's the recording or the room but I'm hearing some major resonances that just shouldn't be there in a system that costs a million bucks. I'd be willing to place a wager that it wouldn't be hard to find a $100k system that sounds better and a $25k system that gets you 95 percent of the way there.
Couldn't agree more (see my comment under "OverkilledUnderdog")
I too thought it had some very unpleasant “barky” resonances in the midrange. I would be very disappointed if I’d spent that money and it sounded like what I heard here.
Chris Kochesky - well, you can hope! But have you thought that perhaps the defects you have heard are due to the way the sound was recorded?
Many people use the excuse that you can't get the full impression unless you were are in person. Well, I just listened to an open-air recording of a system that probably costs, I'd estimate 3 to $5,000 right here on CZcams. And I believe the guy was recording off of his phone it sounded 100 times better... So...hmmm..
Sorry this is so old and I'm replying anyway, but I was feeling like this sounded awful while listening, like it was an accurate recreation of the instruments, but it was playing in the next room. Ignoring the quality of the binaural recording setup, because I don't have personal experience with it, the microphones were placed over 20 feet away from the speakers. There is no system that sounds like $1M, but I'd be willing to be this one sounds much better than the current representation if you were sat in the proper sweet spot, let alone being there in person. But ya regardless of how good this sounds, $100k can get you the exact same sound. The technology in the tonearm on that turntable is super cool, though.
As an old stereo salesman, what I appreciate most here is a young woman who has the passion and desire and absolute knowledge to have a channel such as this. Your presentation is wonderful and the music delightful. I tested 3 sets of earphones on this demo and (understanding the internet system) found that no single one gave me everything in detail, but if I could combine 2 at the same time I would be happy... actually I'm happy now with those I have and they are not budget breakers... EXCELLENT DEMO... MANY THANKS!!!!!
My thoughts exactly.
earphones?
After having this system for a year I would be ready to upgrade to the 1.2 million system.
Thanks for posting this. Great video production and captioning as well - highlights the system quite well.
I'm soso happy you posted again! I'm excited to watch this!
Your videos are the best in the community, thanks!
Warm regards.
Nothing beats my amstrad partnered with my Jamo,s .best sound ever , especially when your near deaf .
This audio system plus the background wall decor, all the different shapes combined make everything look like a Picasso painting
They're acoustic panels engineeted so "the room" doesn't color the sound. Ideally you want a true-to-life, flat sound signature.
Just building this is a master peice. The best of everything and the owner got a work of art. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely beautiful!
Love this! Ironically most hi-fi showcase videos are only in ok quality, but this camera work really shows how amazing these systems can look. Keep it up!
The owner of this equipment is apparently about 50-60 years old. And at this age, each person's hearing sensitivity drops by 2-3 kilohertz!!! The frequency range that distinguishes the human ear at this age is about the same as what can be recorded on an ordinary compact cassette from the last century and played it on a cheap Sony Walkman cassette player !!! It is impossible not to agree with this. Arguing with the physiology of the human body is like arguing with your age and the limited time of your life! So... The owner of this expensive equipment perceives sound more visually (admiring his investment in super hi-fi-fetishes) and kinesthetically (stroking the mahogany lacquer of his acoustic systems with his fingers)!!! A million dollars... How many hungry and homeless people could be fed... Everything that he shows us here - he should not brag about it, but be ashamed of it!!! Ashamed of his greed and ashamed of his selfishness!!! In addition, each of the viewers of this video will agree that there are hungry and homeless people in the country of this rich man who built himself an audio crypt for a million dollars... Everything we see in this room is just expensive toys of a stupid child who has not grown up in his 50-60 years...
@@user-dt4fj6fn5z I actually cannot hear well above 10 kHz and still don’t feel like I’m missing out on any details compared to my younger years. So to argue it’s not worth acoustically is misguided.
The system is almost hard to believe. Thank you for the great review.
Thank you for an amazing video. I love seeing what people put together as a stereo system. Could only imagine the time and effort you went too, to get the trust to enter some ones home to view and showcase their stereo.
After seeing the speakers and wild looking horns, all I can say is that's nuts!
I disagree - the drivers look like fostex sigma which are made using the banana plant - so in fact they are not 'nuts' but 'bananas' ;-) (taken from my longer comment)
The 2nd song played is awesome. I will test it out when I’m finished getting my high end headphone system together.
I don't ever want to own a system this insane, but I love listening to them.
Awesome video! Thank you for taking the time to do the research on this system.
As usual, wonderful video, top notch audio recording, interesting technical info delivered in an articulate, knowledgeable and interesting manner.
You even deftly covered the conflict that many of us may feel when presented with such an example of excess.
I always enjoy your productions!
Thank you!
Hahaha I bet your kids would love half as much attention

How can you possibly hear what it sounds like? You'd have to have the exact system to replicate it in order to know what it sounds like. Your home theater could never allow you to hear what this system does. I's only as "amazing" as your own system.

What a thoughtfully produced video. They picked the perfect person to record this equipment. I hope you keep making your own videos. I know your great work through the Darko videos, and I cannot wait to see where you take tour channel. You are much needed in this space.
I am now subscribed and putting my headphones on.

Hi Jana, needless to say your videography is beyond reproach. Beautiful as always. What I appreciate about this post is your perspective of high end audio and your love of audio in general. Keep dreaming and I hope that one day you will be able to attain your dreams.
What is so fantastic about the videography? It’s mediocre , if that.
I wish I was there so I can physically feel this.
Awesome job on the subtitling, super informative.

You gonna rag on those people that bought items from them, would you like to control the way they spend their money?
Listing to a million dollar system on my $20 computer speakers, brilliant.
Spectacular. Great job presenting the system, the sound, the space, and adding a lot of interesting information. When you label everything and also present the distances, I appreciate that. The super-expensive systems are important in the audiophile industry because the advancements and innovations that begin there eventually make their way down to the gear the rest of us can afford, making it better and better.
Jana, thank you for this! Good work. Again, simply love the sumptuous aesthetic, just a pleasure to view.
Admittedly the exotic gear in this vid adds to the allure, but your skillfull touch transforms and presents wonderfully.
I'm convinced the "Jana Filter" could easily transform the ubiquitous "white van tower speakers", and present them on equal footing up against Wilson's $600k Master Chronosonic whatevers!
THIS is your lane. As mentioned, be it modestly priced high value gear, lavish systems of the highest caliber, or anything in between, your approach is refreshing, your content is solid.
Best of luck moving forward!
As usual, you've made a great presentation of the owners listening room and all in there....Bravo!!!
Well...the wall treatment looks like a very efficient diffusor not an absorber. Unless it has some kind of hidden treatment behind the pannels. Still, would love to hear the system
I’ve always told my self if I strike it rich you wouldn’t really be able to tell…. This room says otherwise 😆 I just listened to that ocean song and came back to this cut of it and omg… what a blessing it must have been to have been in this room LIVE!
My goodness that diffuser is amazing and looks so easy to diy. For the love of rockwool and mdf, praise the heavens
I really enjoy and appreciate these kinds of video where they show "Dream house"or "Dream car" that are so astronomical in prices that I know I will never be able to afford one. It's just interesting to see what people would do if money were not an issue. That being said this system sound is not my cup of tea. I am a audio enthusiast and listen to a lot of CZcams video to get an idea of the many sound system out there.
Great job on all your video so far you're like a breath of fresh air compare to all that are out there.
How do you know how the system sounds? The video gives you an idea but you can't evaluate with any accuracy without hearing and experiencing it in person.

I made a CZcams account JUST so I could comment on this video. This is truly a top quality video paired with top quality sound! I understand that binaural will never be the same as being in the listening room, but I really thought that this video sounded excellent. You've come up with a genius way of demonstrating systems and all their intricate audiophile-specific details in the most interesting, enjoyable way possible. This is the best audiophile channel I've found on CZcams so far. You should be really proud of yourself. I look forward to the next one and hope to be able to afford a system like this one day! Thank you!
I'm still paying-off the headphones she sold me 🤣
"'Binaural".... LOL. There's no listening device that will get you in this room. IN FACT you're better off listening to a lossless file of the same material, it will sound better than this video. It just can't translate. Cool to see the setup though. (they have to use a mic to capture this, and then you're running it through your own system, which completely negates the speakers/amps they're trying to show off, amongst other reasons).
The video is shot and edited very professionally. Can't say same thing about audio recording - it seems that the sound is unbalanced to the right and, definitely, there is clipping in some parts (like at 11:33 - vocals).
@@urwholefamilydied Imo a good binaural recording can capture to some extent a hi fi system like this to perhaps 80-90%. It depends alot on the mics and recorder being used. The unique way of recording like this is that you get to experience the position of the speakers and the acoustics of the room. Once the sound gets compressed and you listen through headphones a lot of the hi fi gets lost. So listening through an uncompressed file is best. Listening through HQ studio headphone monitors will give the best representation of what was recorded. Having that said this recording needs some improvements. Recording in HD is another technical field in of itself.
@@urwholefamilydied I guess the same is true of the original master. Playback negates the rig the mastering engineer used and the way he "intended you to hear it" lol. The inaccuracies begin at the microphone used during the original recording. "Accurate" is a farce.
Great video. Loved the measurements and info you provided. Can you try to make the info you have on the screen, easier to read? At times the white lettering was almost impossible to read
It's only worth it if you can hear the difference. Nice of the owner to share his personal space. And thank you for tackling such a rare Air topic.
thank you so much for posting this , your wonderful Jana
Jana, so glad to view another of your great videos. More...more...more please.
After you figure in diminishing returns, it's probably slightly better than a 500,000 system. I go to hi fi shows like RMAF, and one major takeaway is that most very high end systems sound great, but quite similar. That revelation got me to stop worrying about small tweaks and just listen to my quality system and be content.
Speakers are usually the weak link, plus the room acoustics at shows.
Incredible system and awesomely produced video. Thanks!
Woah, the room sound in this is great on my cans. Feels like I'm there.
@Vim Fuego From what I remember from the video 7 months ago the quality maybe wasn't all that great in technical terms, but the reverb or whatever similar influences I found immersive.

You were mainly talking about what is called "the sweet spot". That's where you (your ears) must be to receive the sound pressure and waves, where even reflected sound waves come to hit thee ears to perceive perfect, precise, separation of the musical instruments and ambiance of all the musical notes and tones of the voice(s), every nuance and delicate texture of the rich sound coming from excellent, high-tech, "high-end", High-Fidility speaker systems making for perfect imaging. You not only hear the true to live gorgeous sound, but you also feel it! It's so alive, it's amazing! Sound so real, so live-like - it's almost like having a live band playing in your living quarters!

The design is so ugly not only the system but the room walls decorations very depressing
Such an impressive system I would be wanting to install some kind of cable management system.
The room is as pleasing to the eye as the sound is to the ear. Well done.
I know wealthy people that are obsessed with the pureness of the sound and spend huge amounts of money in hifi systems and when it comes to listen to music the only thing that matter for them is how crystal clear, pure and real is the sound blablabla. The human hear as years pass loses a lot of "accuracy" and can not perceive all frequencies,so no matter how much money you spend the result isn´t that great.A decent hifi equipment is enough. When i listen to music i enjoy the music and feel it and my hifi system is just aprox.2.000 €.

I tried so hard to appreciate this system for what it was. Certainly a work of art... But like with most art I just couldn't get over the pretension. I was fixated on the snake oil which so obviously surrounds every 'effort' in that room... The manufacturers saw this gentleman coming and skillfully played into his obsession in order to secure inordinate amounts of profit... Truth be told, a properly set up $5,000 system can probably sound just as transparent.
You've obviously never heard the difference that 100k speaker wire coated in unicorn plasma can have on sound quality... 😉
As a sound engineer I completely concur.
The diminishing returns on systems this expensive are pointless. You might as well piss most of this money up the wall for all it's actually worth.
I'm glad someone like you came to give that input, I've always been baffled at the goal post always being moved up in the audio world. Are there any sources you can point to thst would display proper budget audio set ups and such?
What system would match at 5k?
Diminishing returns are real, doesn’t mean it’s not worth any money beyond 5 grand.
SADDLY the only way to really listen to that system is only owning one...
Or know someone who does.

Im sure is a really dumb idea to sell in that range price. I mean, is impossible this has a different quality in a house room than another really good audio system from 50.000 dollars. Also because the room is made for it to sound better. The only reason you will buy this particular audio is because only you have the money to brag about it. Do not have any sense to me...

First I want to commend Jana for producing the best demonstration video on CZcams. Not just because it's an excellent system and an expensive one. She took the time to explain the design goals. She did her best to capture the sound. (not possible but this was good) And she made it visually engaging while conveying all the essential facts of the room.
I really appreciate the approach to this system. I build my own systems, and many of the design considerations resonate. I like the idea of no caps in the signal path. Only transformers and tubes. I build OTL amps to even eliminate the output transformer. I use minimalist first order crossovers and even wind my own resistors using manganin wire for resistors in the signal path. Today I use open baffle speakers, but would love to go down the horn rabbit hole using custom engineered solid wood horns.
I would love to hear this system in person. I thank the owner and Jana for sharing it with us.

Thank you for sharing, very informative.
I really enjoyed the many measured distances that were provided. That was wonderful. I, too, applaud the investment. Some people buy jet planes, some buy massive yachts, some buy multiple sports cars, and the list goes on. This fellow opted to buy a superb music system. I imagine the listening experience in that space is breathtaking. Congratulations on an amazing investment decision. Enjoy! I will add that I was surprised to not see any soft surfaces on the walls and the globe as the only round surface in the entire room. The wall treatments are all flat surfaces. I have no doubt that their random spacing successfully shatters sound waves that fall into the deeper cavities, however I would think that a lot of sound waves directly ricochet off the front, flat panels and potentially arrive to the optimal seating position faster than, perhaps, desired. Of course, I am most likely wrong, but you typically see more soft bass traps and more use of round deflectors that tend to disperse sound waves in many more directions. That said, it is a wonderful system. Thank you for the share!
I feel kinda like I'm privileged to be listening to a system that costs this much. I can only say thank you to the people that put this together.
Listenning on what like me on a basic laptop...
But you’re not listening to it. You’re listening to it through youtube
honestly if i had money to spare this seems like a really cool thing to get as music means so very much to me
just pick a good open/ closed back headphone you like the sound of, connect them to your Phone (if they still have a 3.5mm jack), a nice comfortable chair you like, and your favorite beverages close on hand, sit there, listen to a music you love, either bought, downloaded, pirated, streamed, no matter which, and just close your eyes, you're probably already 50-70% there to what this can do.
@@MuhammadKharismawan yeah absolutly i agree just saying if i had it laying around i wouldnt mind lmao
Boah! The best system i ever experienced was a damn good turn table,i forgot the brand into aMcIntosh 100w tube pre-amp,on to 2 mono Amps the size of a half casket and 2 electrostatic speakers the size of a half door and i was blown away by the sound! Can’t imagine how this amazing artwork sounds! Thank you for sharing and props to the owner! He really cares about music!
