The Black Widow joke killed 😂😂😂
Indeed, and for those who don't really get it: the joke is that he, indeed, is married to Scarlett Johansson.
@@MinscS2The joke is that none of us are married to Scarlett Johansson
@@Rysuko1 that's a sad joke.
Which makes it hilarious @@joesuh7492
@@joesuh7492 I would even go so far as to call it a tragedy
To be honest, those two are the defibrillator pads keeping SNL alive
Sounds about right
they're the 2 lead writers as well so if you have a problem with the rest of the show, they deserve blame. I love weekend update though.
@@c9IceCream1 They don't get free reign like they do in this segment.
pete was funny on the skits idk what happen to him
@@c9IceCream1 lead writers doesn't mean they get to decide what goes in the show. you don't know how much was thrown to trash bin and what only goes to tv. for every 10 ideas they have, 9 of them are rejected
I miss this kind of comedy existing just everywhere, it was like a breath of fresh air every day.
You need legion of skanks in your life.
Honesty has become comedy
Because today's culture has too many post-irony.
listen to cumtown
Did it exist everywhere though? if it did then it wouldn't be dark humor
imagine if every SNL skit was this genuinely funny, we'd be consumed lol
Have you seen "World's Most Evil Invention" skit? Funniest thing SNL has ever done.
This is why I miss madtv so much it was good from the start.
This was amazing. SNL has always had a lot of hits & misses, but the hits usually was at this level. Hopefully they're finding back to their roots with this stuff, cus this is great.
The "skits" are always terrible, I've never found a funny one. Weekend update with Colin Jost and Michael Che is hilarious though, it's the only thing I watch on CZcams every week. For how boring and lame the rest of SNL is (I really don't understand it) " weekend update" remains amazing and never misses.
Imagine being a person that finds SNL funny, or even for that matter, Tolerable.
It's been a long time since SNL was funny. This segment was actually good. It's refreshing.
Travis Kelce was funny, especially the part with his brother
They've been doing this skit for a couple years
They've been doing this bit for years. It's always savage af
@@ha-kh7ef pretty much this. SNL always has ebbs and flows. also depends heavily on the guest that week.
It’s good (the swapped joke segment) every year, so at least we have that.
This segment is probably the best part of SNL every single week they go so hard, much better than when they bring Sarah Sherman on to be weird
I didn't know her but after reading your comment and searching for it, I must say that I couldn't go through 10 seconds watching it.
jeez, what an annoying and weird person
I find how uncomfortable they were with making the jokes funnier than the actual “controversial” jokes.
yes that is the whole point
They're actors in a pre-written scene where they have to intentionally corpse to signal emotionally to other people to laugh...it's not like who's line where if they corpse its genuine. The discomfort is just an act.
They write each other's jokes and make them as uncomfortable as possible that's where the magic happens
@@hrodwulf172you must be fun at parties.
Prove it@@hrodwulf172
Weekend Update is the most popular/ viewed segment on SNL honestly so, it makes sense they would keep their comedy the same and never lose that fun edge between those two amazing joke writers / tellers.
Also I didn’t know Colin Jost was married to Scarlet Johansson so, that joke killed me 😂😂😂
These guys are funny af, but the og edgy jokes were introduced by good old Norm 🙏🏻

"y'all need Jesus" was the best non-joke. 😂😂
Funny but All too true.
Why do you think your religion is correct and others are wrong?
we muslims already have jesus unlike the other religions
Can’t we all love Jesus equally? No matter the religion?
Internet killed the joke in 2 replies. 🤷♂️
Colin Jost and Michael Che are great together, and have been doing this "write each other's jokes" thing for awhile now. It's easily the best and most refreshing idea SNL has had in years.
There are a few of these and they’re always hilarious. Genius premise to get some edgy comedy out in a time where everyone’s hypersensitive.
Wouldn't call it edgy comedy but just comedy. If we can't make fun of ourselves or each other then society hasn't evolved at all it's just getting weaker. I don't care how people live their lives just don't get your feelings hurt when your the but of the joke. If people can't handle that then they need to stay inside. Overall I agree with you.
The thing that the recreationally offended don't get, is that jokes like these improve race relations. It de-fangs racism by making a joke of it. If they really cared about stopping racism, they should be encouraging comedians making jokes about it, instead of trying to cancel them.
Right? I love how they’re suddenly acting like this is new
Pretentious cowards are too busy crying on Twitter 😂
I hope people don't honestly find this endearing, it's certainly a positive change for our times but don't ever forget this team of people and company were the ones at the head of the mob of pitchforks and torches actively trying to cancel every single person that would find this kind of humor funny. They're two-faced mouthpieces that will spew whatever garbage their bosses tell them to.
1:49 The PANIC in his voice!🤣
Che and Colin writing jokes for eachother has literally been the best part of this show for years...
These 2 have been carrying SNL for a long time. Usually the closest thing to goodl ol' comedy it gets on a normal week.
Holy sh!t dude..."the people who tell you what you can and can't say on the internet are the same people who get a panic attack when their phone rings"...bro the statement of the century
It killed me when he awkwardly held his fist out to her and she didnt reciprocate. 😂
i love how the lady refused to shake his hand in the end.
They risk their lives to bring us those jokes. Respect.
Braver than the troops

That alone shows how pathetic USA become. Banning socialedia would quickly fix it.
no one in this video is risking their life
Weekly update has been the only good thing about SNL for pretty much 10 years now. Colin and Michael have been my favorite part of the show since like 2015. They’ve been doing this yearly bit for a while now, they should all be on YT somewhere
It's crazy isn't it. Jokes end up being funny because they come off wrong which is why it's funny. Making light hearted fun of things even some more dark or twisted subject matter can be just funny. It's a way people do like to cope with darker subject matter. When you can make fun of something and take it less serious it's much easier to both connect people and find humor with it. It's why people who are soldiers or are doctors tend to enjoy dark humor as to lighten the mood since if its taken so seriously it can very quickly become depressing.
Dark humor is quite a good coping mechanism.
Dark humor used to be normal but to many people are to into their feelings these days. It used to be people were desensitized but now it's been taken to the opposite extreme which is being way into your feelings to where you can barely say the word stupid without getting completely Karened by a man or a woman. I guess we can just say social justice warrior. I also believe the whole pronoun thing is annoying as well. If you don't understand that somebody's trying to respect you with the words yes mam or yes sir then I would say you have a identity issue and people will joke around about that as well. Jokes are supposed to be funny and come from left field so the punchline hits hard and end up being funny.
There was a lot of darker matter to make light of in this skit.
"Humor is in the absurdity."
@@CRIMSON-FLAME1 even worse, they DO find it funny, but they PRETEND to be offended, because they discovered they can benefit from that.
I've seen many times some idiot laughing out loud, then catching himself, frowning and going "that's not funny" or apologizing. Terribly conditioned.
The joke swap is a tradition they have but for the first time Colin actually gave Che some brutal ones. Che is always trying to get Colin canceled or murdered 😂 while Colin goes for mild/college type humor. I'm glad to see he is learning. This was the best joke swap so far imo.
SNL is not terrible but it's very hit or miss. It's usually 4/10 sketches are actually funny 😅.
Please don't destroy and Weekend Update are the best part of the show imo.
Che also usually writes racial jokes so it's good to see he's diversifying lol
They do a segment like this every year, so I’m glad Asmon finally joined the party. They kill it every single time.
Ain't no way you consume this media all year every year
@@Silvers617 huh?
As someone who is super critical of SNL for a long time, this was super funny.
That Coretta Scott King joke was good
I love how that one dude screamed "THE TURMOIL IN THE MIDDLE EAST" just to get it out without laughing😂
If they could do this material once a week, show would be a hit. Not every joke lands, but the ones thatbdo are SO good
They literally do it once a week.
@@pluntchgunster6156 they do tegular jokes, not make each other read jokes to make each other try and be uncomfortable, no?
It's actually a genius segment. The format almost prevents outrage because the person telling the joke is part of the punchline by the other comic putting them in that position.
I hadn't laughed that hard from an SNL sketch in a long, long, long time. That was amazing.
The more people say, "you can't say that," the funnier it gets~
It's nice to see some comedy on SNL again :) That last joke was great! :D
They do this every year and it’s always absolutely hilarious
I've always loved weekend update, but these end of the year bits are always gold
These guys are too funny; SNL's Weekend Update wouldn't be what it is without Norm Macdonald. He inspired these guys and had a special for him when he passed. RIP Norm, you are greatly missed.
That Black Widow joke was incredible
20/10
i always love watching these 2 doing these jokes every year they are so good
MAN, i have not relaxed like this in a very long while
Damn.. Ruthless jokes. I love it.
this duo has been pumping out content and keeping SNL alive for a while now
Bring this back, i haven't laughed this hard in years
I love all these skits between these 2 they are so good you should watch more of them
Colin and Micheal have consistently put out good stuff throughout the years.
Comedy about to blow up from all pent up jokes that couldn't be made for a while. Gonna be a funny time if they are allowed to continue. Sorely needed imo.
That black widow joke was actually pretty clever
The Black Superman bit never fails to make me snort with laughter every single time I see it.
The 3 black Superman bits are so good.
Ive never thought i could get to see the day when the humor and comedy of the early 2000's will be relevant again. And oh boy am i happy to see it.
This segment is why i still have hope for humanity.
There needs to be so much more of this
holy shit i haven't laughed at an snl skit in so long fr, this has always been their best segment
They've been doing these jokes for a couple of years now
The reason this is funny as hell is because the jokes are actually funny and the swapping bit only makes it funnier because the offensive jokes make the teller cringe. I find most dark jokes unsavory because most of them aren’t actually funny by themselves, but they’re relying on the offense to make it seem funnier to people who aren’t part of the group.
Dark jokes aren't unsavory. It's just you don't have a sense of humor.
Dark jokes tend to be polarizing since as it requires a lack of malice and also understanding between the one making the joke and the one on the receiving end of it.
I can't believe they are back i used to watch them years ago they were really good. They would be on random times to.
I love comedy that pushes the edges, with no ill intent... just that awkward space because of the play on words... love it
Colin and Che are honestly the best part of SNL right now. No one will ever top Norm for offensive bold comedy, but when those two swap jokes, it is a riot.
Ah the return of Comedy! it happens every now and then.
that's a good conclusion by Asmon there at the end
Dude it was savage. Most savage dark humor I have seen in awhile.
The way she looked at his hand like “white boy you better never think we cool after saying that shit.” Black fragility 😂
I remember when the entire show was that funny, and not just a once-a-year skit.
That being said, this also proves they can actually do real comedy but are being instructed/coerced not to.
I always get shorts of these guys. Love them!
This was actually funny af. I've missed this humour. Genuinely made me laugh
"i think comedy is back" yet this never went away, you just keep looking in the wrong place
Yeah, this is a consistent thing lol saying it's back is like a weird take cause i can show you this exact thing happening and being this well made every year for the past 5 at least if not longer. Always weird to see people think things are so different when theyre easily provably the exact same lmfao
I love it when they do this segment but this is probably the best. The black widow had me crying lol.
they've done this segment a few years running now and it's always the highlight of the year
Weekend Update is consistently the funniest part of SNL
Actually funny jokes 🎉
Good argument, with that last point

“Soft” generation member here, people just want to be victims. Bring back comedy like that
Until now I haven't actually laughed (without having to force myself) at SNL in like a decade.
“A better black widow than Coretta Scott King” is maybe the best joke I’ve ever heard on SNL
Society is healing
Hardly. Just an intermission.
Comedy is not back it's just an end of the year thing where the hosts write for each other trying to make the other guy look as bad as possible , the did the same last year.
I always forget how hilarious and savage this exchange was.
The last 2 jokes were legendary
ACTUALLY pushing boundaries. Ya know, like comedians used to do before it became pseudo-illegal (literally) to say anything about anyone unless you're famous and brown.
It was never pseudo-illegal.
@@evarchavex4800Go to the college circuit and tell a joke then.
@@WllKiedSnake Pay for my trip there and sure, I'll do that, and then literally nothing will change.
@@evarchavex4800 ??
@evarchavex4800 Bloody lazy! And they'll stone you to death brother! Comedians are terrified to do comedy on a college campus.
Whether you’re Jewish or Muslim, Y’all need Jesus! Never been a truer statement.
These two when they do this its always fucking gold.
I feel like this segment was honestly still pretty lame. I think a lot of people confuse the idea of being "soft" with simply not finding shock value race humor entertaining. I personally just dont find it interesting or witty and i think many others feel the same. Compare it to the standup crowd work of someone like stavros and youll see that this is just much more boring. Or look at how Shane Gillis approaches comedy with disabled people - the punchline is never so boring as "disability funny". This skit is literally just them trying to say things which sound a little racist for shock value. Thats it. Thats the entire joke. For every single joke. Over and over.
I see a lot of people now who seem to think the peak of comedy is basically just "n-word funny". The closer you get to saying the n-word, the funnier your "joke". If you dont agree with them then they cope by saying its not that their humor isnt very interesting or funny, its just that you're "soft". I feel like the comedy in this clip kinda is pretty close to that.
Exactly. Well said.
What could go wrong?
What could go wrong?...
weekend update has always been the best part of SNL
“Handshake?”
“Get that hand away from me”
SNL is only a theoretical comedy
It's funny how the anti-woke crowd is only now realizing these two have been going at this for years now. Must be hard living in a bubble without humour.
Found the racist
They’re constantly crying about comedy being gone when it hasn’t gone anywhere, it’s like they’re just setting themselves up to be angry at the world all the time.
The black widow joke was like a nuclear bomb going off, and we all witnessed ground zero. Holy shit 😂
The fist bump LMFAO
This is lethality me and my friends in the early 2000s telling jokes and knowing it's all in fun.
This is the 1st time in recent years i actually laughed out loud watching a YT video
This is probably one of the hardest laughs I've had n youtube, oh my god, this was beautiful!
Dude they have ton of these, its so hilarious

absoluutly brilliant. Loved it XD
The superman segment they did a while back is gold
The hands on face expression is pure gold! But he couldn't hold the laughter! The paradigm is shifting!
