- The homeowners who live here really needed some help with their overgrown yard. Both the mother and father are on a disability pension, unable to maintain their yard, and they just can't afford to pay anyone to clean it up! It was pretty obvious that they required help, and a yard like this is so difficult to transform, even for an able-bodied people. I knew the job was going to be hard, but I knocked on their door and offered to do the job for free. They were super happy for me to get it done, as you would expect. I ended up spending around 20 hours at this property and taking away 4 or 5 large box trailers of green waste and rubbish away. In this episode, there is everything from mowing, slashing (weed whacking), edging, pruning, rubbish removal and sweating, a lot of sweating! It really is a CRAZY transformation. Q: Where are you located?

A: I have never even seen a snake in over 4 years on the job.

A: Nick was offered a full-time position at his other job as a Political admin!

A: Brent quit at the start of August 2022.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of cans?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I'm not really sure to be honest, maybe something to do with space & maintenance, but either way, it really is poor heat efficiency!
Q: Why are you cutting so close to your employee!
A: I'm not cutting too close to my workers, they are standing too close to where I am working! All of my workers have been told numerous times about standing too close to the tools and about the hazards involved!
Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well, to do the job required.
Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. Currently, I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k on a good ride on mower.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on in there.
4. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering we always take the green waste away.
5. I will get one as soon as all of the above are solved.

I totally agree with you. My husband and I have just sold our half acre to downsize and we’re not even that old or disabled. I just know that if anything happens to him, I need to be able to maintain it myself. ❤🇦🇺🦘

Please don't criticise when you don't know what is happening to the people. Illness, disability, pain and mental health issues can make even the simplest job a mountain. Past a certain point, that mountain becomes an insurmountable task that needs outside help, just to break the back of it. Then once it's at the stage that you can work on it for say two hours and see that your work is making a difference, it boosts your moral and you can attempt another job.
You did an amazing job George!! I was a little upset to see the owner come out to pay for expensive food delivery but she couldn’t pay you for all the extraordinary hard work you did in her yard!! You’re a wonderful person 🥰

As soon as I seen her I understood why the yard looked that way. I looked at the front window and seen that mess too. Sometimes you just can’t help some people.I’ve meet lots of people on assistance that live this way cause they want too. Great job anyways!

No, it’s not just you. I said the same exact thing. Getting food delivered???😮 😂 the only way these people are disabled is the fact that they just don’t wanna do better. They’re hoarders…look at the windows, curtains. That yard has been like that for YEARS! I’m afraid to know what the inside of the house looks like! Spending money with Hoover… buy a lawnmower and weed eater then put it to good use 😂😅
As he stated at the start, their son isn't the greatest. Perfectly capable to maintain the lawn, but won't. I'll bet he came out of his room in a food stained shirt and complained multiple times about how all the noise kept waking him up. Wouldn't be surprised if he ordered a bunch of food to eat while playing video games at the age of 38.
The woman that was handed the food did not look disabled at all.

It’s so hard when your body breaks down over time. Your dishes stack up, you have no strength (or appetite) to cook a proper meal. But the memory is still strong when you remember a time when, even with kids, you cooked the best meals, and neighbors would say you had the prettiest yard around. they had disability problems, their son? who knows BUT there was an underlying attitude here of taking everything and giving
nothing. Ordering food to be delivered ( was there any for the man working ???? ) and the non-stop barking of a dog shows the
level of ignorance in the home.

Looks like the inside is in the same shape as the outside, unfortunately. You can see it through the window when you fix their tree by the door. At least they'll have an immaculate backyard! I'm so impressed with that lawnmower, it can mulch through anything!!! It's a beast!

Has anybody else noticed that the vast majority of people living in these homes with incredibly overgrown yards always have at least one dog or cat? And if you ask them why their yards are such a mess they all say they can't afford to pay for yard maintenance (but they CAN afford to blow at least $50-$100 each month on pet food, pet treats, pet toys, pet haircuts and vet bills). Also, I couldn't believe that the people living there were totally unconcerned with the dogs' non-stop barking through the open front door and the windows (adorned with filthy, water-stained curtains) while this poor guy was just trying to clean up this yard. And you know the first thing these people are going to do when this yard is all cleaned up is let their precious dogs outside to take a dump on that nice clean yard.

Good grief, this was an extraordinary transformation! I thought you were using an adze, but had to Google it to make sure. We don't know if they offered him something. Remember we never see him eat or have some water. My husband used to do mowing as a part time job and he never ate on the job just drink water

George knows what he is doing. Some jobs are all day times 3 days. You know he eats and drinks. He’s just not going to film it. This was a compilation of five or six parts. George is picking obscene overgrown properties as they are the most fantastic ones. He does it for our enjoyment. Don’t forget he presents it to us in a speeded up fashion so it looks like he is killing himself. Don’t assume he doesn’t know how to manage his work with breaks and nourishment. When there is a disability in a home many times it manifests itself is a kind of dysfunction. So don’t always assume the worst. That’s just my opinion. But it’s why I love to watch his content. 👍🏼😍

I think the owner should fix fences. Too many escape roots for burglars. Corner properties are sure pickings.
Never buy a corner block. I know someone will have to, but never be an owner.
I once was in the market for housing. Looking at many. My husband and mother kept saying no corners. Eventually, who go tired first. Mother and husband.

Perhaps, if the neighbors all chipped in and got together and mowed once in a while, that would help. I have a neighbor across the street and I take turns with another neighbor down the street taking care of her yard.

Astonishingly one man did all of this, and seemingly with such ease, tho we know full well that it was hard, demanding and backbreaking work. What an accomplishment! It's hard to find the words, and even harder to believe our eyes unless we actually watched you do it, as we all did. What I notice in Aussie lawn videos compared to US ones, is that Aussie streets & gutters are generally clean and the footpaths are generally flat and safe. The gardeners in the US always seem to be removing lawn & dirt from the gutters and dealing with broken & uneven footpaths & curbing. Makes me proud as an Aussie that our councils do a good job on this. ❤️❤️

When the woman came out looking for an Uber driver she sure walk pretty fast back to the front yard! Had another delivery to her front door too. Maybe she could add a little exercise in her day by working on her lawn? This place was really an eyesore for her neighborhood! You've done a wonderful job on this property. I watched the previous videos of this job three times. The rickety red "privacy" fence stood out. The compilation shows your large scale efforts to conquer the yards. This is one job that would grearlt appreciated an another pair or two of helping hands. The natural sounds OST is good, btw.
