Simulate an Encoder with a Periodic Task in Studio 5000

  • You can use a periodic task and simulate an encoder going clockwise and counterclockwise. You can also use the SSV instruction to vary the "speed" of the encoder.

      @@TimWilborne Hey Tim, I am a noob compared to you! So I am not sure if I should be using periodic tasks all the time. I just mimic the guy who taught me. You know the grouchy old guy, the one you were to afraid to ask why when you were learning😆

      @@shaneplatt3128 They guy who taught you is doing a best practice, the continuous task is the only one created by default so most people use it until they have problems.

    hey tim, off topic question, can you use a power module that came with a 523 and use it with a 525 instead?
