    Tim, hi. Would you PLEASE make a video about how to add and program a Incremental Encoder Module 1734-IK in a 1769-L16ER-BB1B PLC? I want to read the Speed of a Belt conveyor in my HMI. I appreciate your Help. Thank you so MUCH.

    Why do you use physical trainers and not Logix emulate?
    Do you have any videos on teaching yourself with emulate?
    Thanks for all you do

      Hi Anderson, while made for the Micro800, see video below where we talk about taking counts and scaling them.

    If my PLC power is OFF, would the counter get reset to 0? Same question for RTO. Thank you.

    • @TimWilborne

      No, the tags on the Controllogix and Compactlogix are retentive so they will retain their values during power up.

    Is it possible to use multiple inputs on the same counter ?

    • @TimWilborne
      @TimWilborne  Před rokem +1

      Yes, You would use branches. If there's a chance of two inputs could be on at the same time and you're going to need to look at the one shot instruction also

    Hi ,How to add missing instructions toolbar on studio 5000

  • @Skinwalker91

    If I have a ctu and a ctd with a preset of 25 and want to limit the counting function between 0 and 25 how do I do that? I got the ctu to stop at 25 using the dn function but can not figure out how to stop the ctd from going below 0.

    • @TimWilborne
      @TimWilborne  Před 3 lety +2

      Don't use the DN bit. Use compare instructions. If the accumulated is greater than or equal to 25, don't count up. If it is less than or equal to 0, don't count down.

    A ctu and a timer would be good, unless there is a video up already.
