    • @SchofieldonShakespeare
      @SchofieldonShakespeare  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes. There have been very minor changes made to the mark scheme, but not enough to make any significant difference.

      @@grapheggspecies8907 Success in this exam is partly about exam technique, and knowing exactly what the examiner is looking for, as well as the quality and accuracy of your writing.

      @@SchofieldonShakespeare my exam is in a few months. And I do care about the technique, however first I need to understand how to write properly. My writing right now isnt very nice and my vocabulary is not great either. I have been neglecting english for the last year. So I'm trying to catch up :).

    would this help me with English Lang 0500?

    • @SchofieldonShakespeare
      @SchofieldonShakespeare  Před 2 lety

      Yes. 0500 is the code used for international schools, whereas 0990 is used for the UK ones. However, the papers are actually the same.

    Is this similar to 0500/22 paper 2 (2023)?

    Hello! I have a question to ask. So I've attempted a Directed Writing (paper3) question (0500/32/f/m/19) and was wondering if I am allowed to add in some info about 'myself' when writing a letter to my relative. The passage was about deciding whether or not to apply for university, and they asked us to explain whether or not you think going to university might be useful for you. So, am I allowed to make up a situation to answer that? for example, I could be struggling financially and so I don't think going to university would be useful for me. Can I mention it even though it was not stated in the passage? (the passage was an article about further education) hope you could help me out, thanks!

      My view is essentially 'yes'. In order to establish an appropriate register, you do very occasionally need to reference personal details. It would be ridiculous to write a letter to a relative in which you didn't mention anything personal e.g. meeting up at a family gathering etc. Your point about making up a situation to help you evaluate the question sounds fine.
