In this adventure, my friends and I backpack the original Sylamore Creek Trail. This trail is 13.7 miles starting in Allison, Arkansas and goes through Blanchard Springs, Gunnars Pool, and Barkshed Recreation Area. Come hike along and enjoy the beautiful fall colors of the Ozark National Forest, crystal clear rivers and streams, and our scenic campsite. This is day 1 of the hike, so stayed tuned and check out day 2 as well! Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel, hope you enjoy! Looks like an amazing trail, bomber camp spot and great group! Adding this to our AR trip!
You and your friends seem to always have so much fun.God Bless
That book is my bible for this state!!! Also, I have the same Altras!!! //fistbumps
have fun and go wild
Love your video work. I live near Batesville, AR and knew this trail very well some years ago, I love it there. I trained and practiced on that trail for the A.T. which I thru-hiked after that. Anyway, like your videos and following your A.T. hike is how I found the channel. Hike your own hike.
Love your vids and beautiful Arkansas
Amazing fall colors @ one of my favorite places on earth! As good as it gets in The Natural State, IMO. Great vid, Kelly!
I have every color of the Carhartt beanies too even the orange one you need to get the orange one
I just moved to AR and been having trouble finding good spots. I found a few on all trails and I come search them all on CZcams and every one I search you’ve made a video already!! Keep it up I enjoy these videos
Beautiful area, great weather and good friends and a little humor on the trail. Perfect combination. Great vid, looking forward to part 2
Dan thank you! 😁
@@kellyhays23 Here are some trails i did last year from Tim's book that you might be interested in or may have already done them. Black Fork mtn trail, Tall peak trail and caney creek/buckeye loop trail.
The shot of the yellow leaves falling after the “cryo-creek crossing” was magical. Nice footage!
Ahhhh might have been my fav moment of the hike! Thank you!
Lil lady you have some beautiful videos. Thanks so much. Stay safe
Backpacking is better with friends! Great memories created. Enjoyed the video!
Another great video and hike! Looks like y’all had fun! Thank you for sharing!
I'll be moving down to the Mountain Home area this spring/summer. Looking forward to exploring and hiking, biking, and kayaking. Thanks for the vids, very nice job!
Such a beautiful trail! Hiked a little bit of it back in the late summer. Can't wait to go back for more. Great vid!
Altra shoes are my FAVORITE shoes ever and Danner boots (Reckoning) since I was in the Marine Corps and can represent but they are also lightweight, comfy, rugged, and durable. These Danner boots I went one half size up from my Altra shoe size and it worked perfectly to have that tiny bit extra of room I needed.
Awesome! Now I know which trail in Arkansas I’m hiking next :)
Great scenery and company, enjoyed following along!
awesome trip! Great video!
Wow beautiful colors!! 🍁
It was magical!
Enjoyed the video , thanks
I so enjoy your videos.
Beautiful video!
Thank you!!
Beautiful hike, it's definitely on my list for places to go. I didn't see much wild life. Any snake action to worry about?
Hey! Just found your channel. Looking forward to seeing your AT hike. Was curious if you had recommendations for a loop backpack trip through the Ozarks or in Arkansas? I’m coming from Ohio so somewhere semi near the airport would be most ideal. But would take any suggestions regardless. Good luck on your upcoming thruhike
A friend and I performed this SCT trail way back yonder in 2018, but being the wise young lady you are, I greatly doubt you’ll be tearing the meniscus in BOTH knees as did I as in came down those large steps into Blanchard Spring Rec area! Two surgeries later and very repaired, and I do hope to return to whoop up on that trail again to show it that I ain’t no ol fart that it can pick on!! Love ya vids Ms Hay’s!! (BTW: went to H2:4 to look at that Crescent UltraLite Kayak! WOW, do I want one of those! Excellent man that Brandon!!)
Oh my goodness!! I’m glad you are good now! I actually twisted my ankle going into Barkshed at the end. Was pretty swollen for a couple days but it’s okay now. I guess it’s kinda a dangerous trail haha & thank you so much!! & awesome! I hope you end up getting it 😁
@@kellyhays23 oh my! Twisted ankle!? Thank the Lord you were so close to the end!! I suppose you could have cut yourself a small sapl'n and made a crunch! You cud do! Your resourceful! We were hiking from Barkshed to Blanchard, and I recall as we came around a body of water to our left we heard the loudest grunt coming from a wild bore there at the water's edge. My friend goes, “Did you see the size of those TEETH?” Which I think he was referring to the tusks. He said they were as long as his fingers. I saw no bore, but what I heard made me know I was thankful it was more uh-fear'd of us than I had time to be of him! Excellent trail tho, but the SCT is one that one should not go as a couch-spud! After that trail I couldn't touch my body where I didn’t hurt!! But I felt invigorated to take hiking on as a new hobby-and at 65 I suppose it’s not too late. But that kayak...I think I’m rather smitten with that thing! I can’t find anyone having a hint of negative feedback on it. My wife wouldn't get on one if it was the only way off snake island! Time to save some $ I reckon!
Was this last weekend or this one? My mom & brother were out there this weekend (I was quarantined-ugh). One of my favorite trails! Running the 25k there in Feb!!
And fantastic video-thanks for posting
Pretty fall colors! What a great trail. We hope to hike it one day. What was the brand of hiking shoes you just got?
Have enough of the leaves fallen to eliminate the tunnel views and enable you to see the mountains in the distance.
kelly please turn on closed captioning
Is it Grizzly or Copenhagen
If you need to borrow a tent I have 4 and Dan Becker has about 30 or 40 of them.
Perry Kerr thanks! i have 3 now so I’m good I think 😅
It looks like you and I both have spent $11 on a spoon at some point in our lives.
jaydavee 🤣😂🤣😂 yupppppp
