- In this video I share my opener for the Three Mountains achievement with no exploits. The next two videos will cover 1500-1821.
My analysis of institutions video:
• [EU4] In-Depth Analysi... - Hry
here lies europe
death by tech penalty
Ehh, they gonna get institutions by having colonial nations, trade ideas, mafuctories and so on
Institusion cannot spawn if previous isnt embraced, right? :D
12qt WoT Yeah, that's right, but Europe will have 50 years so it wouldn't be surprising if they got pretty normal techmology lvl even without centres of institutions
Do you have source for such claim? As far as I can tell no institution has prerequisite of all others to be spawned. You can observer quite often nations having institution in random order.
Bebinson to embrace a previous institution u don't need to have embraced the first one LOL
*sees april 1st as date of upload*
haha you wont get me
*watches the video to the end*
huh, so it aint a joke... YOU FOOLED ME
The real challenge of world conquest in eu4 is to try not to get bored
Weed works well
for me it's resisting to use cheat commands, the game is so slow, and complicated I end up exploiting the cash, stability and admin, diplo and military point cheats like crazy, if only to be able to develop my provinces and advance tech. I've never played a game where I didn't get impatient and started to cheat.
@@alldamnnamesaretaken Loser.
@@alldamnnamesaretaken If you still play eu4 just make it ironman mode lol
alldamnnamesaretaken why would you play without Ironman mode
reman always goes for quality ideas when it comes to his videos, love it!
Quantity ideas > Quality ideas
:P
Especially in 1.20 after mercenaries nerf
Atamraris Tibia Wait, what Merc nerfs?!
They cost ALOT more, to get rid of that god damn merc spam
Billy Sing they needed to burgundy with administrative ideas was 50% more available mercs and 50% cheaper which is lower then normal army
Good work. On all your videos i've seen so far.
This new format is very interesting. Playing a game for a specific (vh) achievement combined with your analysis and reasoning.
Also THUMBS UP for playing it like a scientist. Collecting data, tables, diagrams 'n' shit .
Yeah, I love how many things can be analyzed in EU4 that can lead to different/crazy strats. Things like Florryworry's 40 step guide to getting super natives really captures the essence of what makes this game fun for thousands of hours.
:> thanks love your stuff too buddy! You've inspired me to stop using machete and paint when making tutorial videos ;D Although I'm still a massive noob when it comes that hehe
MrFlorryworry Florry was here 20 sec ago. Wow there.
valrossenOliver Wowzers
you are a monster for motivating me to play just before an expansion comes out
A couple notes for things that weren't mentioned explicitly in the video but might not be obvious to everyone.
1. Use the attack natives button in manilla before turning down army maintenance. You do see Revan doing this, but it's not explained per se. Keep doing this until there are none left. You might not get them all the first time.
2. Don't turn down naval maintenance as it will give you a 75% penalty to trade power in nodes where you are protecting trade, leaving you with far less cash to colonize with.
This was good to know. However, whats up with me just reinforcing 60 dudes per month? There's barely any way for me to get those natives down :s
What’s mannilla
You miss out on the extra goods produced from assimilating them if you wipe them out
I thought you were going to talk about no-cb-ing ming, collecting in Bengal and taking out 25+ loans to buy a star fort in your capital when you've mysteriously gotten tech 27 by year 1456. And driving into Moscow without facing any opposition whatsoever and somehow capitulating France (no one would really be surprised though) as a direct consequence of it, of-course.
you spoiled me! agh, stupid old habits of reading comments before watching videos :////
The France joke isn't fun anymore
Joseph Stalin France IS a joke
big words coming from someone with a Swedish name.

RYUKYANS
Reman's voice is so smooth and pleasant to listen to
Uploading this on April 1st made me think this is just an april fools prank xD Good, that I still watched it.
Hi Reman,
Noticed you didn't hire any advisors for this first segment, I'm assuming you value the warchest higher then additional monarch points. My question is this: assuming an event or any other situation gives you more money at some point what would be the break point where you'd decide to go with an advisor or more?
Subsequent question: how deep do you find it fun to go with opportunity cost analysis for your strategies? You seem to go pretty far and that's great for us, just wanting to make sure you're finding it fun enough to keep at it:P
Thank you and great work, have lots of other questions so maybe you also have an AMAA planned at some point? :D
Second that. I would like to know if not hiring advisers and saving money is a special strategy. Monarchpoints are so valuable at the beginning because of the need to buy Renaissance and getting to the first Idea Group and the ideas themselves.
“I hope this video helps players take the plunge into doing their own world conquest.” Hitter “NANI!?”
I'm guessing this doesn't work since the Philippines has nations on it now
Yeah but they're relatively weak - by the time you've colonised everywhere around you you'll be bigger and stronger
couldn't it work better since you don't need to spend gold on colonizing now?
this is a great idea for a mini series, thanks reman!
Selling the gallies in the beginning is probably better than deleting them. Ming, Korea and japanese countrys should buy them.
One very insignificant thing, but hey its something. At the very beginning of the game you can cue up a bunch of mercs/regulars to deplete your treasury/manpower. You get two missions (Accumulate Money and Recover Manpower Reserves). You can easily complete these missions by taking your troops off the queue and letting a day pass.
That's getting patched out in 5 days so probably now relevant
Sure, but that's pretty exploity.
There's also a trick you can do with the colonization mission to get it to target Manila instead of another province. You briefly colonize Tondo, wait for the mission to update, take the mission that now targets Manila, abandon your colony in Tondo, then colonize Manila.
Also, if you're REALLY into cheese you can make Shitatsu a general and slam him into natives again and again to kill him off early.
I didn't do any of that here though.
Ah, yeah, thats an exploit. Forgot that this was no exploit run, my apologies
I tried that a whole day after you once mentioned killing him off this way in one of the first videos. :P But the way you demonstrate here is fairly relieable and I think in the beginnging you really need every money you can get. Great video as usual. :)
Expected this to be an April fools' joke video.
Love all of your videos, joy to watch and learn a ton about eu4
I love your videos so much! :) They always make me want to play EU4 again.
Thanks a lot for making this video. Looking forward to the next parts.
10:00 - I have clocked 540 hours in this game and I HAD NO IDEA you could do that... I feel like a complete idiot now, that is sooooo useful...
Thanks for the guide, I can't wait for the next video.
OMG YOU UPLOADED IT AGAIN. YESSSSS THANK YOU SO MUCH.
You are like Morgan freeman, every time I see one of your comments I read it with your voice
I love your videos. Please keep making more !
Quality improved, nice.
You can't imagine how happy I am that this isn't a stupid fucking April Fools video. Thanks for making actual content on the day where everyone thinks it's funny to shitpost all at the same time with the exact same predictable jokes.
Took you long enough to reupload and man was it worth it :D
Excellent as always.
Thanks man, I learned a lot from your video.
I wanna see you win while playing ulm. You are a constant source of inspiration in this game since I'm not good at grand strategy but I want to be
I don't know why but i enjoy rewatching this a thousand times
You rock. Keep the videos coming.
love your vids keep making more!!
I'd love to see ideal army compositions in the next video!
good video , keep it up
Finally, a video in my sub box today that isn't ironically bad
Another great video, thanks for these guides, I have a couple of question though.
Whenever developing the province isn't it better to first give it to the merchant guilds rather than switching the capital straight away ?
Also, as Arumba pointed out in his run, it would be a better investment to get a province from Brunei and Develop your capital in the Malacca trade node, which you can later use to spawn global trade without having to move your capital a second time.
Great video as always, thank you very much.
I have a question about your expansion into the Indonesian region (or the lack of it): What is the reason for not attacking and absorbing the small animistic OPM or maybe even Brunei?
Edit: The question was answered in the next video.
Wow, I learned so much from this.
Very interesting video =)
Question: I've never played with negative stability before. When is it worth to lose stability with things like no cb wars? And when do you get back to positive or zero stability?
In general you dont want to have negative stability. The only thing which is helped through neg.Stab. are migrating indians since the migration timer is lowered. Is it worth to declare no cb-wars? Thats a tricky one. You mostly declare no-cb for two reasons: you wanna be fast at the start of the game or you just cant get a normal cb. Somewhat depends on how vital does provinces are for you. If rebels are breaking your country do not stab up since stability gets reset after that.If you have some admin to spare or high stab.cost.reduction i would say its worth it to go for +1, sometimes +2. If this is not the case i would advise to stay with zero. But this highly depends on your situation and comes with playing this game just alot. I hope that helps you.
kingKapuzina thank you for your reply =)
The last time I used it was when I played as Portugal, and just wanted to take Granada before Castille could. One of my goals was to become the dominant force on the Iberian peninsula before colonialism started.
If you have rights of man, negative stability also increases the militarisation of Prussia
sqdtnz castille has a truce with granada, so you dont need a no cb war.
Great video!
You made it look like Ryuku is no big deal at all. Great work.
very nice video!
You should've mentioned a few things in this run that heavily impaired mine, here they are:
1. How do you deal with the colonial maintenance when sustaining a colony? I didn't have a lot of money when I started colonizing because shit events that basically forced me to give up my treasury,so I had to take a few loans and that led to my country falling apart unless I abandon the colony;
2. In the current patch, Tondo and Manila are now independent nations, not colonizable provinces. Should I try to fight them or colonize Taiwan (seeing as there's also a pretty decent development province in the south)?
respect !!! another level....
a God Teacher of EU4
Hello Reman, how would you change the Ryukyu opener now that there is a country on manila? would you just pick another province to settle or no CB one of the new nations in the first few years?
i love this
So do I
Hey Reman
I am still a fairly new EU4 player and i don't own any expantions or DLCs, which one should i buy first?
Btw, your videos are great, They really help me a lot!
Glad you like the channel!.
www.reddit.com/r/eu4/comments/5et9si/which_dlcs_should_i_get_a_help_for_people_new_to/
Dont buy any of them, the best option is pirate all of them from csrin and using creamapi
Don't buy it! Just pirate it with creamapi
Awesome guide! Would your opening strategy change at all now that MoH is out, and Ryukyu is a tributary of Ming?
@Reman's Paradox
You forgot to mention to delete the cavalry, which is important for accumulating money. Otherwise great video, you've won yourself a new subscriber :)
Is it possible to briefly colonise that island just south of the Maldives, then fabricate a claim and abandon colony to save a No-CB war? Just thinking you might struggle with the colonial range though
vidya I’m not sure about it but it goes off of cored provinces
Hey man, since the new patch made the philipines have nations at 1444 start its hard to start now. can you give a little guide on how to start now? would mean a lot
you are the best!
Cheers for this video trying my first three mountains and real WC with this(done One faith but not WC so should still be able to): quick question though....its 1500 and literally all the coptic nations are allied to one another and ethiopia has blobbed a bit (24k army...)....anything i can do or just restart (i have a copied save file from when i start colonizing so not that bad)....cheers again :)
can you do an updated video. Because the philippeans now are individual nations. and could you discuss the +ves and -ves of the 'become shogun as ryukyu' strat
great guide!
Was kinda hoping for april fools video, but this is even better.
Hi! How about Colonization guide after Ryuku? :) It seems to be easy, and we can just send colonists but if we want to be effective there is a looooot of stuff to consider.
Money, trade, loans, development, cost, rival colonisers countries, grow, luck, terrain, Area, Natives, technology, idea groups, institutions, colonial nations, income, colonial regions, trade nodes, etc.
Might already have been asked, but why no-cb the Maldives when you could colonize the island below and claim? Is it just to get Coptic faith asap?
Do you think it will get easier or harder with Mandate of Heaven?
Hi Reman, thanks for the vids, if Mandate of Heaven changes anything to this strategy it'd be great to have some annotations or a reference to that in your next vid :) thanks again
Great video. How would you change your opener in 1.24 with the new Philippine nations?
Selling your galleys may be better then deleting them.
thanks for this series I Always wondered how people conquer the world without starting early I have only been able to world conquest as Austria with pu over bohemia Hungary and england AND feeding the HRE massively.
Im trying it too, with your guidance :) Its 1482 now, i got Manila as Capital and Ming collapsed :D Should i set up a base in Taiwan soon, or wait and fully follow your steps ? Culture switch to chinese would be awesome.
this is a mind blowing strategy for a weaker player like me. great video.
Privatering Beijing would make you much more money than actually protecting trade I think.
It doesn't, and Ming hunt pirates
What you said at the end of the video reminds me of the Moravian conquest of the world by pravis gaming
Manila is occupied from the start in 1.24.1.0 (and has allies by the time I realised) best suggestion for a first step now?
I thought he got ach. in 56 years. I was like "The Fuck!?" :D
Also one thing you should change in this tactic is :Selling galleys to Japanese countries instead of disbanding them. You can get nice amount of money in the start with that (compared to your income).
And one question: Normally i would just privateer Beijing trade node instead of collecting from trade. Which one is better in this situation?
Jonix oo Ming hunts pirates, not a good idea to go for privateer
I wanna point out that you don't have to remain ryukyu to get the achievement, you can tagswitch to get better government types and/or ideas
I think you're referring to the glitch in how the achievement is written, where the any_country check doesn't include the player. So basically you can get the achievement as long as you and Ryukyu and Ryukyu's subjects are the only countries that exist.
If that still works in 1.20 I'll include it in my next exploits list.
yes, but according to the founder of that exploit it would also work on a one tag with no cns, with tagswitches allowed. I've not been able to test this however, since i've done the release vassal into "one tag" with ryukyu as only vassal and have the achievement so I can't test this way. (forum link : forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/three-mountains-as-horde.996038/page-9)
What expansions did you do this with? Please include a list of active DLC if you can, because it can be frustrating to try a strategy only to realise 100 years in that you need some functionality that's only available in DLC you don't own. Great vid though! :)
Hi Reman! I love your channel. I'm going to try Ryukyu WC and was wondering how do you do it now since you can't colonize Manila due to there is a country =) Any other good tips to begin with?
You can no CB Manila, if you completely blockade them whoever they are allied with (Tondo etc..) won't answer the call to arms since you'll be at 26% war score.
carlosthedwarf Thanks for the tip. I will try that and continue colonising that region. 😊
For data's sake, I was practicing this opener and had a game where no heir appeared at all and my awful ruler died into a regency council.
Like you, though, in every other game a pretty kickin heir spawns early and every time I've seen it has high adm/dip but low mil.
Some small stuff; Can sell galleys. Privateering seemed to pay of better then collecting in Beijing. You may have the option to go into Brunei or Sunda with the help of their "counterpart". If you don't fund an army you can have a admin advisor (from 1449), you lose 2-3 years on the first, 3-4 on every colony after. And it can give you some good events overall. Like a + swing in stability from comet (like he says you got plenty of time, but bad events can screw you).
I did the math on keeping the army or deleting it and i think I found you should delete it.
Haven't player to much around with the going Coptic but seems like the best option to me atm.
Rule ONE. A good Heir is "king". you will need about 4-4-X. Anything more and you don't need to play so uptight with your mana.
Reroll with prestige. Doesn't hurt the run more then the time investment a restart is.
I tried this start but I never get in such a good early position like you in your run. always takes longer to get the institution and often, as soon as I hit 1500, some other country gets colonialism. did they change somthing with the last patches, which makes this harder?
2:11 The feeling when you've never seen or used national focus before....
any advice on where you want to find yourself in terms of total conquest/development at various milestones? I've done well several times but have yet to find achieve a WC (let alone one tag) in the timeframe
first
just kidding, good work Reman
After the Ming patch would you still recommend going Coptic or should I stay Animist so I can become Emperor of China?
Great video, but 1.25 makes old patches for Ryukyu WC look like a piece of cake. You're amazing with strategy, could you make a new one for recent patch?
Nice videos. I tried that strategy a few times and tested it. Often I forgot something, like setting the focus, making the ruler a general or something else. If you are still reading comments, I would like to ask some questions:
1. what patch are you using? As the Unam Sactum Holy War CB got moved with 1.20, it must be maximum 1.19. Because I would like to try what you did, but it does not work anymore in newer patches because the Philippines are now swarmed with one province minors. I tried to colonize there and it was a pain. Then I reverted to patch 1.19 and it worked a lot better, but since Ryukyu now has only a force limit of 6 and the natives got a lot stronger, I only win my first battle with them 1/3 times, even when I build above the force limit, which makes it expensive.
2. Would you recomend to hire a level 1 advisor in the very early game? I got a 20% discount on advisior costs from my crappy ruler and did get an adminguy. It meant I had only about 2/3 of the money I had last time, but via estates, events and loans I still could finish the colony by 1480.
3. How about taking the +20 Settler growth from exploration ideas before going to diplo tech 7?
other than that, this strategy is really good. But I start without a consort. So I add getting a royal marriage with korea or the ming early. Still got one heir that was not crappy in time, only once of the 5 times I tried.
I'm not Reman, but I think I can answer a few questions
1) He is using pre-mandate of heaven. The Phillipines nations actually let you expand faster if you keep your eyes out for someone who is getting dogpiled or if you can secure an alliance and drawing them in my promising land.
2) No, you need enough money to colonize and advisors are expensive even at level 1. You don't want to go into debt if you don't have to.
3) You need diplotech 7 for the range to be able to get the coring range to India and Africa. The +20 settler increase only delays your Coptic conversion.
Would it be more beneficial to develop the provinces in the Philippines (like Panay) to get it up to 12 development so there's a higher chance of Colonialism spawning, or does the province need to have 12 Development to start out with?
Now that the Philippines have nations on them, how do you recommend going about the first step of your plan in Patch 1.24?
If you first start a colony in Bikol and keep it for a just a day, a mission comes up to colonize Manilla (as Manilla is the only adjacent province within colonial range at that time). Accept mission, recall colonist, reduce colony maintenance so that colony in Bikol dies and then colonize Manilla. This should speed up a bit growing the first colony to city.
It would be interesting to see how this comes together with all the changes to Southeast Asia
Hello! I am new to EU4 so just a question: How have you been able to core those Coptic provinces without having any neighbouring cores of your own country?
Were do you find the required ments for colonialism to spawn and other institution I would really like it to play somewhere and snatch Al the institutions
Great info and excellent strategy except for one thing. I'm on my 6th attempt following this video and it works beautifully except for becoming Coptic. The other BBB (Ethiopia) has already conquered and allied all of the horn in every game I've played. I've managed to get there as early as March 1480. Same result every time. Any strategy suggestions on how to deal with this?
Well it was Dec 1543 before I got Coptic religion. Hope its worth it as I had to fight Malindi, Mogadishu and Ethiopia with an Aloudia PU all at once to get it. It feels off being a 100 years into game before using my missionary.
As Ryukyu is located in the Nippon now, i dont have enough money for a colonist, is there any alternative for grtting money?
Can you do a new version on 1.24 update?
I just started one play to see how it works on normal, I did almost everything you did, just that I didnt converted to Coptic in time. What I couldnt understand is I have to colonize a part of the alaska or I just have to find it?
Also, I have to put all provinces on the Philipines on 12 Development? Sorry any mistake on the english.
In the last part of the video I show the requirements for starting colonialism. You'll notice you only have to discover a province in the New World, you don't have to colonize any of it.
The institution can only start in provinces with 12 or more development, so you'll want to target provinces in the Philippines that fulfill this requirement as I'm fairly certain each one you take increases the likelihood that you'll get the institution. That means you'll want to colonize Tondo and Maguindinao if you can.
With the incoming Philippines changes, will the strategy be unchanged or should I no CB them?
I was expecting this to be a joke or something, seeing as its April Fools. Either way though, great video as always.
How much development in manila should it take to get the renaissance. The 18 tax, 8 prod, 12 mp I needed to spawn it at 1482 seems excessive, even with the -5% dev cost from burgher loyalty. Am I missing something?
You deleted your galleys in the beginning is there a reason why you didn't sell them ?
Would it be equally viable to go sunni instead of coptic? Or is there some specific reason to go coptic?
