In this video, we're talking about a change that was introduced yet again which would potentially boost Social Security checks for beneficiaries over long amounts of time. This is not a new concept, this is something that's been around for a very long time and has been introduced multiple times, this would effectively increase Social Security checks for anybody receiving benefits administered by the Social Security administration including but not limited to: Social Security retirement, Social Security disability, Social Security survivors, Social Security spousal, SSDI, SSI, SSA and more. We want to continue watching all of these benefits because this is one of those changes that has been implemented that would potentially increase Social Security checks substantially but it would take several years for the increase to be reflected in check amounts.
we're discussing the details here in this video as well as why this may not be the best plan going forward but ultimately it would help checks a little bit.

Maybe we need to force Congress to pay back what they "borrowed " from the fund, and quit "borrowing " from the fund.
They might care and do nothing if on SSA or SSDI but they dont even care about SSI so..dont hold your breath either way
They need to stop calculating by inflation and go by Real Time Cost

Yes the best thing to do is give an annual stimulus or basic income that does not count as income or resources for any other program.

Why don't you Iive in Sec 202 62+ senior /disabled housing ? Rent is 30 per cent of your income. I do not pay for utilities. In CA my utilities were limited to $10 or $20 per month.

This being a great idea, BUT unless your in congress or SS, or the House etc etc. I would take 2%every quarterly. So we can hash this out over a video, but unless your in the above, ain't nothing gonna get done. Except for empty promises. If you're over 62 and on SSI you should call your SSA case worker and see if you are qualified for a increase in benefits and or double dip on SSI and SS at the same time.
Me and my wife both over 62 and was notified by SSA that we are qualified for the raise and my spouse was qualified for both SS and SSI.
380$ for her and 110$ pr month for me .
Then the col will be based on the increased amount.
Worth calling today your SSA office
No one "double dips" on SSA and SSI. You don't get 2 full checks. SSI can be supplemented if your SSA is under 963.
A 2 1/2 % COLA would give us an extra $36 a month, I'll just toss it towards our mortgage principal that we overpay anyway
