  • Ep. 18 of Gun Table Talk. In today's episode, I will be going over a very iconic firearm that most people know very well the 1863 Sharps Carbine. The sharps rifle was one of many firearms that helped pave the way for quicker reloading and faster rate of fire weapons. The sharps rifles are still incredibly popular today, and still definitely live up to there standards. These styles of rifles have definitely earned their place in firearms history.
I will be going over a brief history of this particular model of sharps rifle and also going over the firearm itself. This particular model was designed to take paper cartridges, linen cartridges, or simply loose powder and bullet.
This is a percussion cap ignition system on this particular model similar to the rifled muskets of the era. This style of rifle was typically used for cavalry use, but was used by many soldiers during the Civil War North and South alike. The sharps rifles comes in a number of models, shapes, sizes, calibers, and differs between paper and metallic cartridges.
I do not consider myself a firearms historian, so if you feel like there's any information I got incorrect or left out please let me know in the comments down below. Make sure to subscribe, share, like, and comment to TheMusketMan98 channel. Stick around you might learn something.
Thank you so much for watching!👍🏻

I fell in love with the sharps watching Quigley down under. I love to watch more of your videos. Please please. Do something about the dogs. It’s very distracting.
