I cannot believe how helpful these simple exercises have been for me. The knee pain started to lesson by the third day, and even the hips feel better. Jessica has helped me with back pain (gone) and with her general Pilates videos. She is a treasure.
Yes, I was just doing the stretching and fallowing along. This feels good. Thanks!
I'm confused by all the downvotes. This is a lady who is trying to help and is providing top notch advice and demonstration for free and clearly knows her stuff that and she's very easy on the eyes and well spoken. Downvotes are ridiculous on here!!! Thank you so much for the exercises! I've had this issue for at least a month now and didn't know what to do

Haters gonna hate either way
Agree. I thought the same thing.
Because she has class and isn’t wearing skimpy outfits for the perverted.
I’m a 65 year old former personal trainer who now has a lot of knee pain. Thank you so much for these exercises. I’ve had a knee x-ray and I’m told I have a bone spur on my quad even though the pain is on the inner side and rear.
I will do these exercises daily. Thank you!
I cannot believe 1100 trolls, gave thumbs down. What were you looking for? This is basic, short, and ground breaking for most people. Because...and here are the words those 1100 hate to hear, COMMON SENSE movement, you did not like it? So sad. Thank you Jessica
Thank You Jessica. I tried the Quad Set and the pain just went away. I can get back to running again. I can't thank you enough.
Thats great!
Hi Jessica! I just started my weight loss journey and managed to injure my knee in the first week (big whoops) I felt so discouraged that my routine was now disrupted, but the exercises u provided in this video helped me get my knees back to 100% just after 3 days 💛 thankyou for the work that you do, God bless 💛💛
I over extended my leg doing cardio kickboxing 6 days ago. The pain was in the back of my leg behind my knee and wasn't getting better. I did these exercises last night and this morning and my leg feels so much better already.
I was going to leave a silly comment saying "just thinking about these exercises made my knee pain better", but i've been doing them every evening for a week now and my knees are about 95% better, so i guess what I'm going to say is thank you Jessica for helping me with my achy knees!
Thanks a lot! I was worried that I would need surgery, but after doing this for only a week I'm able to do squats.
That's great!

I hope this works for me too

@@sosodiba did it worked with you !?
I was having a difficult time walking due to my knee pain after a run last week. Then I returned to work as a CNA the next day for the first time in three months from family medical leave. That was rough. I did these yesterday and my knee pain improved significantly. Thank you so much.
Knee tendon pain is gone after two weeks of exercise, thanks so much, I can run again

So grateful for this! Committed to doing these exercises every day starting last week. Went for a run yesterday, zero pain! Looking forward to getting back into squats!
These are really helping my knees feel better! Thank you so much!
Very helpful! My knee pain has recently been returning and I needed a refresher from PT I did years ago. These exercises are almost identical. thank you!
Great!
This is the 3rd day since I started these exercises, and I can already see improvements upon my knee. Thank you so much!
+Jonathan Bekanga You are welcome and I'm glad the workout is helping!
No real pain doing excerize got good mobility back . 😊
I am so happy I found this video. I tore the meniscus in my right knee a few months ago and have been going to physical therapy without much improvement. At age 65, surgery was not the first option. I don’t want surgery, but PT hasn’t been effective. I was searching CZcams for something different. I watched this and was amazed she only has 4 exercises and they’re not hard. I’ve been doing about 10 in PT, but only 2 of these. I’m going to be trying this. Anything to avoid surgery!
Yes, knee strengthening without weights. Thx
I couldn't walk for 4 months because of osteo knee pain but because of Covid, was too afraid to go to the urgent care--plus I couldn't walk to get there or get in an out of a taxi. Now, I've received a cortisone shot in each knee which was miraculous! Instantly, no more pain! But as a result of the non-activity, my legs are like jello! and I can actually SEE the lack of muscle tone. Scary. Thank you so much for these exercises! Until I start my PT, these are going to save me!
I hope they help!
Thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed for my quads! I need to strengthen them because of my patellar tracking issues! It has made things so much easier when I do circuit and yoga!
This is perfect! I've been having some pretty gnarly knee pain recently that im about 95% sure has more to do with having been more sedentary for a couple months than anything else. FIgured I oughta try some knee-specific exercises before paying to go to the doctor without insurance!
Perfect!
I am 48 year old big girl & proud parent as well as a caregiver. When I was younger I was super active in sports. Mentally, I still think can get my athletic swagger back. Realistically, I've been walking for the past 9 weeks after a recent medical scare. As I got stronger, I built up confidence to start on the first 2 obstacles of a nice obstacle course at the park. This Sat. I felt my knee twist wrong when climbing the net. The pain was awful, the next morning I could not move . Thank you for posting this video, I was helpless without it!
I broke my tibia, fibia & knee in several places falling off of a roof in 2018, 2 surgeries , 6 months in wheel chair & 3 years later. With my fitness career lost due to not being able to run anymore, because of my very damaged knee. This is pretty identical to the physical therapy I was doing years ago, thank you so much for this video! I will continue to do this daily! I need my fitness passion back!❤ This beginners Video Is giving me hope again! 🙏

The leg raise was an exercise that my karate sensei made us do, lying flat on our backs, up and open close and lower, to help strengthen our abdominal muscles, whilst he stepped from abdomen to abdomen...
thanks for the information - trying to continue athletics and prevent injury
Thank you for sharing this item Jessica

Thanks! On one of those I can feel exactly where the issue is.

Thank you I enjoyed your video I'm scheduled to visit a physical therapist office in a couple days but I'm glad I watched your video maybe something to expect
Excellent video. Not too much talking & explaining, just enough..Thank you.
I'm a fat lady. I've begun to walk every day as in exercise. My left knee is gives out more than my right knee does. I walk up this big hill everyday. Big on my standards, to walkers and runners maybe not. I have been relying more on my right side to make up for the lack for the other. I am hoping these exercises work out, because there's no way I can stop walking again. I need to lose weight, and now. I will do the strength exercises and pray they work. Thanks so much. Will keep you posted. P.S. Since alot of people here are walkers/runners etc, can I ask for you to share a link or a website with a LOT of easy healthy recipes. Thanks so much. Karen I also have vericose veins and that also has something to do with my pain.
Congrats on being here and starting your walking again! Check out my website www.jessicavalantpilates.com for recipes and my UNLIMITED program. I would love to hear updates!
When you walk on LEVEL ground, the force on your knees is the equivalent of 1½ times the body weight, means a 200-pound weight will put 300 pounds of pressure on your knees .You should'n walk up on a big hill, just stick with flat surface for now. Jessica' s exercises are great for you becouse you exercise your muscles without putting any pressure on your knees. Good luck and don't give up!
If it helps at all to add I wouldn’t recommend doing that too much as it will wear the knees out faster the heavier you are. Wait until more weight has been shed before you do exercises that are hard on knees in general. Downhill, uphill, stairs, running. Smoother exercises if you can until knees won’t be carrying so much added weight during the naturally hard on knees exercises. I’ve had to give up hiking and travel level paths to keep my knees from crying so much so I could lose weight to help my knee pain. The older we are the less abuse they can handle. Kids can make it out of repetitive motion injuries better than we can.....not that it never catches up to them later in life. Be patient and gentle with your knees and yourself in general💚
I am a runner at 64, and I was always advised by Seniors NOT to run uphill everyday. Twice a week is the advice. I think same should hold good for walking uphill. Specially as you are recovering.
Just started this and and the knee pain went away. However, I skipped a few times and yep it came back. I'm definitely doing this on a regular basis. This way I don't have to pay copays.
Thank you very much it's very helps. I had stab pain, maybe not blocking my knee, but i felt disconfort before running, and squatting with weights during gym excersises.
Thank you very much !
Gonna do this everyday!! Even if just a little bit.. been 2-4 years with knee pain.. gotten a lot better but still there and now getting focused again on what truly matters!!
Very helpful, and well described, thanks!
I came across your video about knee pain exercises, thank you for this it really helped.

Thanks for these exercises.
Trying these from today Jessica, as it’s what I’ve been looking for knee pain when running uphill. I definitely think it’s knee tracking issue as it only hurts when moving the knee laterally.

Thank you so much dear, these exercises are great.
Hi Jessica. So glad I found your channel! It's great to find a coach who is professionally trained, teaches well, and is clear and beautiful too! There's no negative to this relationship! 😆
So, this past mid-March 2022 I had an accident snow skiing. A tumble that injured my dominant knee. It didn't swell much at all. I had some mild fluid buildup behind my knee cap for about 5 weeks, but swelling wasn'tnoticeable to anyone else or myself. I skied down the rest of the hill very slowly and could stll walk carefully, so it was minor. My first and hopefully only knee injury though. I have kept it active for these 5.5 months but didn't do anything "rehab-ish" . It has healed up about 95%. The only pain I have left is walking up stairs (hiking is okay though usually), and trying to do a full squat all the way down to the ground, like a caveman. 😆 When I stair climb or step-up, the knee hurts around the top of the kneecap. And when I squat or pull it closed in a stretch, it hurts from about the 97% full compressed position in the sides and kneecap area also. I can close it, but I can't put full weight on it. It's gotten progressively better over the 5.5 months of regular ranch chore type activities and walking, hiking, etc. I can jog on it for about 100' before I feel pain on the kneecap.
Anyways, last week I spent a few minutes saving knee exercise and rehab videos on CZcams and started exercising for 2.5 hours, 3 times a week, using only leg and lower core material. I do each exercise I choose for 5.5 minutes, and the move on to the next, with short 2 to 3 minute water and walking breaks in-between. So far, after 5 workouts, I'm feeling much better. And sore of course. I've never really worked out my legs beyond running and stairclimbing, so this was needed anyways. I'm 47 years of age, btw. I don't want to age with my most important area of my body being the weakest.
Do you suggest anything in addition to this video training?
Thanks again for your free coaching! 😘
My knee has been going out for about two years.. THANK YOU.. Two or three years of blowing my knee out (only it is moving like my knee cap? Clicked you video three days ago, Like totally found a mussel group by my prior injury (acl) that basically had no mussel group. UNREAL on the first few min.. The leg and tighten method. I liked share and subscribe. Thank you so much.

Thank you for this! I'm going to incorporate them into my next Pilates class
