I'm happy about the center diff and all but i was more excited about the red body. I ordered the red body extra to put on my 8s EXB and now can have a matching little brother. I expect a 6s EXB Outcast to be announced any day. Arrma has been killing it the last few months. They've taken more of my money since July than I'd spent on RC in the last 5 years. Aside from a trx6 and SCX6 everything I've bought this year has been Arrma.
Yes Arrma has done some cool things lately! I like the red too but I’m happy with the gray!
I have been waiting for this for over 2 yrs ... now that it's out the economy is crap not getting any overtime at work .. going to take half a paycheck to buy this truck....that's what makes it so hard

I don’t think this line is going away anytime soon, so maybe you can put a little away here and there and pick one up when you can.
Also, the Kraton 4s v2.5 is great too. Faster than outcast because it doesn’t backflip at full throttle. Kraton with dBoots backflip LPs (Outcast tires) for off road is AWESOME.
Awesome. You really drove that thing hard. I love my outcast 4s. I actually bought the v2 in blue right before the v2.5 hit the stores. As much as I’d have liked the new slightly lower price point, and all the upgrades they did, I’m not disappointed in my v2. Personally I like the sway bars although some say they’re glad they are gone. Those rock and mud guards seem to work really well. And I’m sorry you broke a chunk of the rear corner of your body off. I hate so much when that happens to my cars 😂 Great video man. Nice to see you bashing some name brand larger RC cars instead of the smaller 1/18 scale banggoods. Also, I know they seem pricey, but you’ll get much better performance if you use the spektrum 4s 100c smart battery. I got mine to 50mph with a spektrum battery 🤩 Happy New Years Eve to you and your family.

I got the 8s outcast I love it, maybe the servo saver screw is loose, that was my problem. I love how how the Outcast just flys like a bird, nice killer double backflips have a great new year also dragons are awesome

Re biased steering, the saver doesn’t rest at 90°. Neutral position is a couple degrees off to one side. Without being able to set separate L/R end points on stock transmitter, your epa affects one side more than the other causing steering bias.
Only fix ive found is upgrade to better tx/rx with separate left/right epa.
Please post what you find out re servo savers. The hot racing saver is just aluminum with same spring tension. Haven’t found a stiffer one.

Holy Crap! This thing is quite a rig! The center did is a big win over the 2.0! It jumps so well, even when it lands bad! LoL! Good speed for this 3s and 4s! The Senton really impressed ms as well! What a beast that is too! Think Mad Max totally handled that thing like a pro basher if there is any such thing! 😆

Best review of this product i have watched, thanks for not being a brand loyalist and just ripping all types of RC's, so tired of influencers. Now i have to decide between this, Kraton 4S or 6S.

Glad you liked the video. I have a 6s Kraton too but been a while since I’ve made any videos on it. It’s more expensive to maintain especially if you install upgrades. I think this 4s line is a perfect solution until you want to go bigger than 1/8 scale, since this basically is a 1/8.

Well I've been watching your reviews for over 2 weeks I'm a newbie but since I know my way around trucks and cars it's easy well driving them is much harder lol. Thanks for your great work on the reviews I'm glad I chose the hosim as my first because this one and the Ralaarlo are the next two get for my kids. They all need help in different areas so I can teach them different things, but I really am glad because the mudd flapps alone are an amazing upgrade, I would not be a happy camper if I missed it.

I installed the slipper clutch on mine . I like the standing backflips
I definitely hear ya the slipper gives full power constantly to the rear wheels so it will have a much more aggressive feel, but I’m going to tune the center diff to be the best of both worlds. Thicker fluid for more rear wheel power but still keep the benefits of the center diff. It will probably do standing backers afterwards.

I got this for myself as a christmas gift as well lol. I should mention the V2.5 only came out in black and red. (The gold and blue is the older version) and I only noticed when I was helping my dad buy his when he saw mine. Issues I had so far was some rocks getting in the chassis by the servo arm and not letting the car steering one way. It was a quick fix, just had to shake the rock out. But on my 4th day out on 4s I snapped the right rear axle/driveshaft. The left rear looks like its getting close to snapping too. You should check yours, the front ones looked perfect on mine but the rear seems to have more stress on it. And it didnt help that i had it on 100% and punched it often at slower speeds. I thought I was doing pretty good on slowly applying full power but I guess 4s still carries alot of stress. My dad only runs his on 75% (4s) and they look good brand new still. Ive been out of the rc game for awhile now, last car I had was a brushed slash like 10 years ago. But thanks to you and your videos I got the mjx 16208 and outcast! Keep up the good work! Loving the hobby again!!
Dang! Well I’m sure there will be upgraded axles soon if there’s not already. Glad I helped you choose some awesome cars man! I’m wondering if they updated the old body colors too because when I clicked on the other colors it showed it had a center diff and the price was the same (previously the older v2 models were $20 more). Hopefully they are all the same now or will be soon!

The body of the Senton helps it soar through the air. That was clearly happening, as we all could see it. But that Outcast, man, I sure want one. Looks like such a fun truck.
Yup the Senton body is like a parachute. I jumped it like 3 times when I first got it last year, but first time doing it like we usually do lol

Heaviest RC you’ve bought in years! 😂 new adjustable gear mesh is NICE and it does well on 3s for sure… Suspension looks great! I had the real v1 4s Outcast and the suspension was ridiculous. Sold it as soon as I got the Kaiju.
Yup the OG 4s looks like it has tiny shocks and just much junkier. Love this one! Yup heaviest car since my 6s Kraton!!

Great vid! Had some great shots, huge sends and as always your commentary is always on point! Mine didn't fare so well, I broke my chassis the first pack, first rip. Guess I landed on the back and the hinge in pulled out of the D block and split the part the hinge pin goes through. I didn't know but I guess you can put longer pins in to help stop them from doing that. I'll do it to this one and hopefully get some more time out of it before I need the impossibly sold out replacement unit.

That stinks! I’ll have to look and see about the longe things pins. I guess stronger A/D blocks would help also. Definitely plan on doing some upgrades to this beast!
@@DerbyCityRC Yea the 2.5 Outcast. Stronger blocks wouldn't help in this case the pin just slips by. But yes, better blocks are usually a good thing to do or at least have spares haha

I just got a while back the bigger brother to that one the 1/5 scale 8S EXB outcast and i love it, I would say i have more fun with it than I do my X-Maxx 1/5 scale and that's saying something. I have a 1/10 scale outcast 4S and also the Traxxas Maxx widemaxx and i don't know something about the way the outcast does those wheelies just feels right and there just not easy to do with the X maxx or Maxx because the wheelie bars are JUNK. I know you can upgrade them, but I didn't have to with either of my outcasts.

I have two 8s, but I'm deathly afraid of tearing the tires up. Had one come unglued on my 12s one within first 2 minutes of just wheeling at 30 mph and while I like driving the one for 2 minutes, I don't love it so much to pay $80+ for tires more than once every 4-6 months. I'm wondering if I should "upgrade" to two of these.

Great video! I'm trying to decide between the Granite 3s, Rival MT10 or The outcast 4s 2.5. What is more fun to bash in smaller spaces, are they all pretty equal? What car will take the biggest beating without breaking? Also is the outcast on 3s @50% too much for a younger kid to handle? Thanks!
For small spaces, the MT10 is probably best. Overall my favorite the outcast.
3s @50% is probably between 15-25 mph, which is fast enough to do some damage to certain things on impact so depends on the age of the child I would say. Sorry for the late reply!
This truckb just blows away "Legendary Legend" as a 1/10 scale RC truck. I only buy RC's that use HEX screwes.

CNHL has some of the best batteries for arrma. And they r not expensive at all. But the quality is up there with much more experience battery manufacturers.

Epic video, amazing car, but its Max sending the Senton that stole the show lol.
All those upgrades look really nice, the guards especially, my 2.0 outcast and kraton both get absolutely drowned in gravel and mud, to the point of wearing out the drive shaft and Axels. The centre diff looks like they drift even better and the landings are probably a bit easier on the running gear too. Hail to the King, baby.

They’re both good in their own way. I like the drive better of the 14, and has the center diff, but I think the hbx is more durable.
The 14 has awesome tires and lands jumps better too.

No they’re correct. You want all 4 of them facing forward to stop debris from smacking the shock rods. They’re forward in my video too 😃

I love this car. So durable. Kids love to play with it. Any trouble with the battery straps? I've been snapping straps and having trouble keeping the battery in place. Also steering is awful on 2 of the 3. Got the M2C chassis brace for all 3.

I ended up just putting a standard strap in and ya the steering is pretty bad. Still haven’t looked but hoping I can adjust the servo saver somehow.
Yes you did right after I had posted comment. I had seen your video before and went back to ask. I've thought about trying to improve the steering but I've seen other attempts in CZcams videos get only marginal improvement. Maybe if something breaks. Let me know if you find a better solution. How do you feel about this vs a 6s car for fun and durability?
Hard to say yet, but I had to do some pretty extensive upgrades to my 6s Kraton pretty early on (mostly because of front flip practice 🤣). I broke quite a bit but this one also has better response in the air making it easier to land, not to mention I’ve had alot of practice since then. We got the Kraton over 2 years ago. So far I’d say pretty equal, and the 4s parts are cheaper. Similar in size too.
Can anyone explain the V2 vs V2.5? All Im seeing available is the V2 in Red or Black....cant seem to find a 2.5 anywhere...
Version 2.5 is an unofficial name used silly ‘tubers came up with. It’s just a running change to the version 2 and the “old” version 2 was discontinued so unless you get old stock, you’re getting the 2.5.

What aftermarket servo saver did you end up going with on this unit? Did it resolve your issues in turns at greater speeds?
Supposedly the few available aftermarket options aren’t much better. I’m going to take it off and try to resolve it somehow, but I haven’t yet.
@DerbyCityRC I super glued the 2 sections of the servo saver on mine together, made a big difference for a few days, but i think after some jumps the glues given out, i might try a flexible sealant next and see how that goes.
Good idea, it’s just no longer a servo “saver” anymore lol. But really if the glue gives out like you said it would still offer some level of protection. Hopefully the sealant works!
Seems like a stiffer spring would help. Wish there was something adjustable available so you could dial it in to your liking. Or maybe a stronger servo is needed?
@theCHAD_official yup I’m gonna work on this I just haven’t yet. Hopefully I can find a stiffer spring or even just be able to add shims.
outcast 4s is my favorite rig but I have a clutch and it seems more powerful than this. Maybe its the batteries.
Ya the clutch/slipper will definitely give a more agressive feel as the center diff steals power from the wheels with the most traction and transfers it to the other axle. I’m going to add the thicker fluid in there which will give it the best of both worlds.
I'm so upset I ended up with slipper clutch and not center diff in my kraton. Just another upgrade I have to do now. Especially since my slipper is toast!
Also, have cracked my original chassis and got m2c chassis brace and newer model chassis
