I just got old Betsy home.... 23 450rl.for 8999..... 😊
I agree completely, and would add that best mod #3 would be the Rekluse auto clutch. Takes smooth in the rough stuff to a whole new level.
I wanna try one! maybe one day. Lol
Great photography and scenery ! Wow ! What a place to ride !
This video will get you new subscribers, including me of course. Love your video, the RL is by far my dream bike. Safe rides my friend.
Excellent content bro! Just subscribed 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
I think my vote for top 2 mods are:
1) ECU (I have a Vortex)
2) Seat (I have Seat Concepts Comfort)
The flywheel weight helps reducing stalling in tight stuff. But if I had to decide between sending money on the seat upgrade or the flywheel weight, I'm easily going with the seat.
The biggest complaint on this bike is the stalling and throttle response. These two modes fix that problem.
I just now started riding motorcycles after about 10 years and bought a 450RL. Rode it a few miles today and I was like this throttle is zero to 90 with no in-between. I was trying to ride some trails and it was just jerking because I couldn't get a slow speed, maybe it's, but it looks like I might need to get that flywheel. Thanks for the video!
I bought my 450rl used, had 500 miles on it and first rider had throttle changed, I still got the "light switch" feeling on and off power. For me vortex ecu and full yoshimura made the bike much smoother at low RPMs. No more flame outs Also was the biggest win.
IMO the two most important mods for the 450L are the seat and then the tank. Once you replace the stock seat you will be able to ride further than the pitifully tiny stock tank can take you. But yes a fuelling solution that gets rid of that fuel cut makes all the difference on the trails. Good demo.
there's several good mods, but you are correct, the seat and tank are pretty good!
Great content man! With the terrain being what it is in Vegas, I'm wondering why you didn't install the GET MAP switch...There is a very noticeable difference in the launch and acceleration curve between MAP1 & MAP2. MAP1 is brutal and unrestricted from the jump, but MAP2 is flatter and more graduated from launch. When coupled with a G2 throttle tamer, it would enhance even more the effect of the flywheel weight. You and I have exactly the same bike with many of the same mods. I'm also running a Rekluse Radius CX and I'm finding that MAP2 provides an enormous advantage in throttle control and tractoring, even without the weight. Thanks for the video.
Thanks Rob! Map 2 is de-tuned with less power so its gonna be flatter. I only use map 2 for Baja when I can't get high octane. Im looking for map 1 with the most power, but with the best response and it's the flywheel weight. It's so smooth and its not losing any power. Theres many ways to skin a cat. Lol
Ive never tried a rekluse but I know many people like them.
Thanks for sharing!
I want a seat concept seat ! But I’m in Portugal and shipping from the US attracted taxes 🤦♂️
Start with the flywheel for under $200 USD made in the USA. The ECU wifi app has made the near $700-1200 dollar mod arguably better but why Honda cant just offer it like Yamaha?
Yamaha found a way around the patent, jumping them ahead of everyone else, but it came from Athena Get.
What mirrors are you running?
I have to save up to do the ECU and exhaust.
My question will it hurt the engine to remove the Spark arrestor from the stock muffler for better sound until then?
I've seen a guy dyno his bike after taking out the stock spark arrestor and airbox lid and the a/f was absolutely fine
What size tire are you running, bought mine 2 days ago and my biggest gripe I feel is it needs a bigger rear tire/ rim
Its an 18 inch rim in the rear. only thing bigger is a motocross bike at 19-inch rear rim.
Id change the stock tires if that's what your running.
Im about to put on a 130x90 /18 tractionator. I think that's the biggest on the honda.
so with the flywheel, i dont need the rekluse right?
I'm thinking of doing just the g2 tamer and flywheel
no, you dont need a rekluse, but some rekluse clutches you don't have to clutch at all. I suggest doing those two mods one at a time so you can feel the effect better.
Are you still liking the Stealthy Flywheel? Just ordered one from Taco Moto to try out with my Rekcluse.
Yes I like it, makes a difference on the Honda.
No video???
If I put a Yoshimura slip on my 23 450rl do I have to change my ecu first ? Sorry I just bought it yesterday 90 miles first day. Definitely needs a better seat
yes, I believe you need the ecu. You will also need to cover the ais. Graves makes a plate to cover it, it basically lets fresh air in for the stock exhaust. and you don't want that fresh air with aftermarket exhaust.
Why is an aftermarket exhaust not required with the ECU?
You can run the stock exhaust with an aftermarket ECU. It’s not as effective, but it’s better than stock.
What was the total cost of those mods?
ECU is $800 and the flywheel weight is $140 I think
been keeping spark arrester in?
yes
@@MobMoto i haven’t rode around without it but with it in and getting on it sounds perfect and after a hour ride my ears ring a little so not sure if i wanna take it out haha
@@bakerboy5690 its too loud with it out, my ears hurt and everyone knows I'm coming. Lol
@@MobMoto agreed ! I have a CRF450RX and I’m putting mine back in !
I'm a Honda guy, but this has to be the most overpriced bike in history. Kind of of a pile until you drop $3k into it. Value just isn't there for most people.
Its $2500 cheaper than the KTM and that KTM needs most of the same $3000 mods.
If you don't need performance, or you're on a small budget, or you're a new rider just get a DRZ 400 or crf 300L.
@@MobMoto exactly but you have Honda reliability over those KTM bikes.
