  • In this video I explain and show how to remove the steering wheel on your fifth generation Honda Prelude and also how to install an aftermarket steering wheel on your Honda prelude. I explain each step to help answer any questions or concerns you guys might have. I install the NRG hub adapter and also the quick release adapter with the steering wheel. The steering wheel installed in this video is the MOMO MOD 08 leather steering wheel. This is a deep dish style steering wheel with aluminum spokes wrapped in high quality black leather. I really liked using this steering wheel and also how it complimented the rest of the interior of the Honda Prelude. The links to all the parts used in this video are in the links below. If you have any questions please feel free to leave them in the comments below. Thank you for watching.

I’m getting ready to install my new steering wheel and was wondering if you’ve made a video on how to wire tge horn button?

I have not made a video on how to wire the horn button. I can look into it and let you know as soon as I can if I figure out how to wire it correctly. Congrats on the new steering wheel.

hello good! When changing the steering wheel did you have any problems with the 4ws system?

Does it stick out more than the oem one? I’m 6’2 and I already have to sit relatively far to get comfy, so how much different is the new wheel?

It does stick out a bit more than the OEM steering wheel. I noticed the difference when I went to use the turn signals and I usually keep my hand on the steering wheel while doing this because it's close enough that I can reach but I had to take my hand off to be able to reach it. There are other option s like the MOMO montecarlo which has more of a flat face. At least for right now it's cheaper here than any where else that I looked amzn.to/3s4fc64

Hey I just installed my steering wheel on my 5gen, how did you get the airbag light off? Just unplug the light from the dash?

I was literally expecting the light to come on after I turned on the car after installing the steering wheel but it never turned on. Weird I know. I looked it up and for some people disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 5 minutes and reconnecting it worked but sometimes it did come back on. Another solution I found was to disconnect the bulb but I personally would not do that and just drive with the light on if it doesn't bother you because at least you know why it's on. If you do decide to put the original steering back on then at that point I would be more worried about it especially if you decide to sell it.

@@automotiveobsession7265 I was thinking about just unplugging the light. I am going to keep the steering wheel and its components if I decide to put it back in one day or sell it, although I have no intentions of ever selling my Lude.

@@matthewgallant3622 That's also another method. Hope you don't sell it or ever need to.

because I changed it and since then the yellow light has been activated and the 4ws system has not worked

The stock steering wheel has a sensor that relays the steering angle to the 4WS system so when it's replaced it loses communication with the 4WS because it's not receiving the input from that sensor. Some people just keep the stock steering wheel on because they don't want to lose the 4WS system function. I did read that someone used an HKB adapter and was able to keep the 4WS functioning. I read that the 4WS sensor is not always aligned and that can be fixed if the adapter sits tight enough to the sensor plate which helps to turn everything at the same rate as the stock steering wheel.
