Obviously a last minute impromptu cover not meant to be stellar. It was like a drunken bar band at 4 am in bumfuck nowhere just having fun. As a musician I totally appreciate this purposely awful rendition. I’m sure they made up for it on the rest of the songs !🤘🎼❤️

Why because Trujillo plays with fingers? Some of the biggest names in the history of the instrument play with a pick. Some people prefer the picks effect for hard rock and metal.

That's Rob singing, not James. They do stuff like this now - during the intermissions two guys stay on stage and sing or play a song by the local famous band. This gig was in Norway so they sang a song by a famous norwegian band ;) There were just the two of them on stage - Kirk and Rob, you can hear there are no drums here as well, so James and Lars evidently went off stage to take a rest while these two guys entertained the audience.
Metallica has done a few covers, very well, in the past. Nustead handled vocals for a few songs in his tenure. The problem is Trujillo and Hemitt prove themselves to be fuck-wits when left on stage unsupervised. Look back at their Prince "tribute"...
