The fragrances are not dated. The smellers just have on trend noses. What is fashionable today will be dated tomorrow. The current La vie es belle is also obnoxiously heavy just like many of the 80s fragrances. Just different. Not better not worse. It is not the age of the perfume that makes it good or bad, but the composition. As you say, you liked Giorgio once upon a time. 😘❤️🌈
Well said! As I get older I much prefer the interesting, well blended scents of the 80s. Coco being my favourite.
I couldn't agree more. It doesn't matter how old you are, you can wear perfumes from different ages just if you like it e.g.my 16 year-old daughter adores Chanel no 5😁 and I'm not a fan of it.
Oh one of my absolute favs was Dior Poison - they have so re-formulated it unfortunately. Another was YSL Paris... Loved the 80's as was in my 20's having the time of my life with big hair and great rock-n-roll music!! Thanks for taking me down that lane of my life!!
I also feel like Nina Ricci’s L’Air du temps is an iconic 80s perfume! My mom used to wear it 😉
I wore Liz Claiborne in the triangle bottle, my sister wore Poison, my other sister wore Obsession. My mom wore, and still wears, Youth Dew, her one and only fragrance.
Youth Dew is amazing! ❤️👍
Been wearing poison since I was 16, I'm 33 now and it is still what I wear when I want to feel confident. Coco Chanel and Opium are my next favourites
Paris, Poison, and LouLou are my favorites. A couple other ones not mentioned on here are Benetton Colors and Guerlain's Samsara.
I'm enjoying this series! COCO is a favorite of mine. I know No. 5 is their iconic one, but when I smell Coco, it makes me think of Chanel's Lagerfeld era.
You are so very correct.
I went to high school in the 80's & in my age group (teens) the scents all were Estee Lauder. I couldn't afford that so wore Ciara & Coty musk.
Ciara is one of my favorites.I discovered it when i was 11 years old.I couldnt afford Estee Lauder in my teens either.I got an after school job and the first 2 things i bought for myself was a leather jacket and a bottle of Cinnabar.I still love my Ciara, though. The civet in the Charles Revson version is a lot more intense than in the new reformulated version. That one is more dominant on the incense.Nag Champa,to be precise.
I was in highschool in the 80's as well and Sand & Sable Perfume was very popular . My mom bought the perfume for me for my Bday and after PE Class I would spray some on and share with my best friend. We soon learned not to do that in the dressing room because then all the other girls wanted to spritz some on too. lol
@@melindago6576 Sand and Sable is lovely.
Lol! Dior Poison is what a witch would wear. That’s a good way to describe it!
🧙♀️
Bella the Reader I’ve been stalking that fragrance for a while now. I think I will ask my hubby to gift it to me for our wedding anniversary coming in August!
I gonna save up and get YSL PARIS. Thinking Vintage scents are cool right now! Thx for reminding of a scent I adore and need in my collection! You’re the Best!
Paris was huge in my sorority house. Good memories🙂
Found it a bit sweet to be honest. But a colleague of mine loved it and it always smelled lovely on her.
My favorites in the 80s where Poison and Obsession. In the winter time we used to spray our wool coats with the perfume and it would last months.
It would be SO amazing to hear you doing a video about bridal perfumes on your wedding day 💕💕💕👰
I loved body shop's white musk back in the day. But my absolute favourite was and still love today is Elizabeth Arden's Red Door. I felt like the crown jewels when I wore that.
Bajan Mum I still have a bottle from late 80s formulation! It’s used sparingly!
I love those, too!
As a teen in the 80s and 90s (in the USA) I lovingly remember many of these as well as some others, Liz Claiborne (in the triangle plastic packaging with glass in the middle) was super popular, but not sure if it actually came out in the 80s or not? Also loved Intimate Musk from the local drug store, the name sounds awful, but it was so inexpensive and smelled much like the white musk. I think Debbie Gibson’s Electric Youth perfume also launched and made a brief stint at my high school as a sweet, cloying scent for the girls who liked those types of scents. Oh I love these nostalgia videos!
You must be around my age, I also love these videos. It's funny how certain smells make you remember things you haven't thought about in years. I got a whiff of poison in Macy's before the pandemic and it brought me back to high school. I am obsessed with perfume now. Maybe it is middle age ( shh!)
Same age here too! 80’s teen. I use to wear Debbie Gibson’s Electric Youth! It’s so $$ now on eBay. 😭 Also Almay parfume and Incongnito. Both lovely pale pink in color. Such good memories.
Estée Lauder has some of the best perfumes. My favorites are Knowing: one of the best woody floral perfumes ever. Could you possibly include it in a future video? I just absolutely love it!
Oh and I also love White Linen.
Knowing was amazing! I think I need to get a vintage bottle soon. Definitely an underrated perfume!
I agree about Estee Lauder. I would get their perfumes at Christmas so I could get the yearly makeup blockbuster , you had to buy a fragrance to get it back in the past. I love the new Beautiful Belle, I also love Sensuous. I remember when everyone was into pleasures.
@@buddy-yn9bd I agree! I miss those times...:-) Beautiful was one of my favourite fragrances, I even wore it on my wedding day. I remember my mother and I would split the makeup "freebie" and share the perfume at christmas time...Good memories!
So many happy memories! White musk was one of my first fragrance purchases and it was amazing, nothing like today’s version. The 80s were the absolute best time for perfume’s.
I have always loved Dior's Poison. It is heavy but i just spritz it lightly. Always recieved compliments. More of an evening perfume. Presently wearing Estee lauder's Beautiful.
Been wearing it for years.
I enjoyed this video, I own or owned all but Coco. Love this. Keep these kinds of videos coming.
I wore Beautiful as a teenager all the time. Boys couldn’t get enough. So feminine ❤️
My favourites were Opium, Ysatis, Coco Chanel, Obsession and Exclamation.
Flowingz Yes for Ysatis! It’s my fave!
I just bought Exclamation last night at Marshalls! I was so happy to see it.
SwabbedUp I am still OBSESSED with Givenchy’s Ysatis! Buying backups real soon!
You look great with bright red blouse! Also, I love how you discussed all the reviews of the perfume of 80's, you brought its scents to life :) :)
Love, love this channel! ❤👏👏👏
I wore Lou Lou a lot back in the Day, don't reconise the bottle you showed in the pic. Mines was different shape but the same colour. Loved the nostalga, a trip down memory lane 😅
Fabulous video! I own Poison and Coco. They have been reformulated but still, the character is there! They’re really powerful and you have to be in the mood for either of them. I also like Opium but don’t own it because I know I wouldn’t get much wear out of it.
I'm hooked with Poison the bottle made in 1985, I love Giorgio and Coco we used to have this potentially perfums that I love and some are so much better than so many "niche". For some reason I feel like most of the perfum now are so soft in all ways,
Bijan for women, Calvin Klein’s Escape, RL’s Safari, Elizabeth Taylor’s Fragrances like White Diamond, Colors by Benetton, Coty fragrances like Lady Stetson & exclamation line? I love drugstore & department store scents as you can see😂👃🏻
Oh my goodness, I loved Colors by Benetton, I totally forgot about that one🥰
@@anjeanetteschannel Colors by Benetton was THE perfume when I was in highschool. All us girls wore it, and the guys all wore Ralph Lauren Polo in the green bottle.
In the 90's I also had Benetton's Tribu. Oh, how I miss that one! It goes for ridiculous costs on Ebay, it's so hard to find these days.
Mary Chua Join the club, hon!
Mary Chua I loved Exclamation! by Coty!
Great video. Thank you for the walk down memory lane!😉
Hey Soki, great review! You are one of the reviewers that inspired me to start my own fragrance review channel. Any advice would be great!
Ah boy great memories I was working in the frag business in the 80s and 90s ... was around for the actual launch of many of these ... worked for Dior for 6 years .... the decade of the punchy oriental .... adored poison wore all the body line too and the original Miss Dior
Opium by YSL was A Fave as well as obsession and coco ...my sister still wears Giorgio..beverly hills I buy it for her .... white linen lauder and Eternity cK were huge at the time a great decade for frag imo
mary mulligan Omg, that would be my dream job! I think that I’d be broke on paydays because I’d spend it all on perfume just like I do now. I love perfume so much!
Maria Mendez Diaz ..lol lol we had employee interest free credit cards ....I was always broke back then Lol lol
I still love Beverly hills, I remember always wanting to have a bottle when it came out, I brought it the other day just for pure nostalgia, fun video
My favourites were Coco, Poison, Lou Lou and White Musk. Great to know the Body Shop still sells WM. 🥰
Love your reviews I wish you would do a review on Avon perfumes top ten I just loved them fragrances and still do. When you mention Poison perfume I still have my full bottle from the 80's I remember my father buying me and my sister this for Christmas It was so strong back then so I was looking at it now still very strong scent .
Fabulous show! Well described 👏 I love scents x
Thank you!
I recall wearing Red and Cloe in the 80s. Enjoying your videos!
Nice !
I will wear LouLou till the Day i Die. Its born the same year i am so i had to get it and its so so amazing.
Love this era. Probably my favorite era. I have almost all of these. They really say something and are one of a kind.
A lot of my favourite mens perfumes are from the 80s. Kouros, Antaeus, Lauder for men, Jules, bois du Portugal... the list goes on and on tbh. A great decade for scent. I think a lot of it had to do with the world shrinking, making new and existing materials much easier and cheaper to get *and* the regulation of said materials being about 20 years behind. Whether this was a good thing or not is in the eye of the beholder
Aw! No love for the timeless el cheapo, 'Drakkar Noir' and that rip-off, 'Farenheit'?
@@GodsMistake love me some Fahrenheit but drakkar noir smells like a sock on me lol
@@RichMitch The direct application of Drakkar Noir to my armpits when I've got the stank is my M.O. I've probably just been hiding it with dead sock smell, though.
@@GodsMistake So funny, I saw an old commercial for Drakkar and I remember it being the clubbing fragrance. Drakkar was the guy waiting at the door hitting on every girl that walked in. Loud ,in your face, knock you down machismo.
I always thought that you're about 20s something.. I was also growing up with these perfumes, so in love with these series❤
I had the fake Girorgio (Primo) in the mid 80’s. Poison was my first expensive perfume in high school in the late 80’s. Then I moved up to Coco in my early 20’s. Mid twenties I had the original Gio which was AMAZING but sadly long discontinued.
I just discovered your channel. Loved Giorgio also!
Yay 😁
Wow you got most of my perfumes I am / was using during 80-90’s and few up to now.
Elizabeth arden red door and chanel no 5 are my favourite 80's perfumes 🥰
Chanel no 5 came out in 1921. My mother and grandmother used to wear it. It’s a great fragrance
Sarah What about original Chloé?
I love Cinnibar by Estee Lauder - It brings me back to my youth. I still love it. I used to wear it in the winter with my favourite angora sweater. Wearing it was like a big hug. I don't own it now, but I have thought about purchasing it for next winter. Can you do a review on this?
KELLI B Treat yourself and go buy it! Woman, delicious memories await! What are you waiting for?
I could just marinate in that wonderful fragrance.
My mom always wore Estée Lauder Beautiful ❤️
I received Coco Chanel from my first boyfriend when I was 14. Back then I had no clue that his taste in perfume was so on-point. When I smell it now I realize why several people thought I was sophisticated!
MsMichelle7710 Wow, he had great taste!
I just subbed you! :-) Enjoying these look-backs!! I wore Beautiful on my wedding day in 1989. I also loved Ysatis by Givenchy, a powerful, kind of hypnotic scent. Way too much for me now, lol. I also wore Giorgio frequently, I guess I needed stronger scents to cover up the scent of the hairspray. :-) Also in my rotation were Anne Klein (which I would like to take another look at), and different Avon scents like Hawaiian White Ginger and Topaz. I wasn't fond of the ubiquitous scents like Eternity or some of the green fresh scents.
Welcome to the channel !
Cool video! Our channel actually IS all about the 80’s! 🦄 We were teenagers back then, so I mostly wore the cheaper drugstore perfumes like Love’s Baby Soft or Windsong. In high school, I graduated to Lou Lou (paired with shoulder pads, of course!) It’s funny how those scents instantly bring back a flood of memories. 😊
I used to wear exclamation by Coty
I was young teenager then in 88 I was in 8th grade :) I seen it in TJ Maxx recently, don’t have it. now, to me, it smells like dryer sheets :)
Rachel Roussel I was so tempted to pick it up for nostalgic reasons :) I may still later. It’s still easy to find
Yes! Exclamation was iconic! That and Love's Baby Soft were like the first scents I had way back then!
Sarah Schouveller Lol yes, I had that one too :)
Danit Chaney As we age, our sense of smell changes. It deepens and matures as we do ourselves. I think that’s why strong scents are what mature women gravitate to!
My mom wears Coco Chanel, since I was a little girl (in the 80's).
I saw your hollister perfume video too! it would be really awesome if you could do a review on the American eagle x you perfumes !
Dior Poison to me is the sexiest female perfume I have smelled.
Ooooh another trip down memory lane, certainly wore a few of those you've mentioned. In the 80's I definitely switched out my perfumes a lot, although some were repeat buys as I loved them although some of them are now discontinued
J'ai Ose
Ivoire De Balmain
Fidji
Halston
Amarige
Courreges
Mystere De Rochas
Gucci
Magie Noire
Classic
They all hold such dear memories for people I think that is why they are still around today lolx 😀❤😀
😀
I need to try LuLu. Love Poison
Love Coco and White Musk :)
Ahhh the 80s, when Sophia Grosjman dominated the perfume world, the best nose in the business in my opinion.
I want to try most of these
Ahhhj original Coco!!! Original Paris EDP YSL, still in my vollection., LOULOU CACHAREL, also de original one.
Most awaited ... the 80's❣🌎❣
I loved Obsession as a kid. My sister bought me a bottle when I was only 10. It was an atomiser bottle with the spray button on top of the lid.
Cute profile picture
@@SokiLondon thanks
My son picked it
My lovely Goldy always finds her way to the Estée Lauder counter so I can buy a bottle of Knowing. I’m having trouble finding the lotion, is it discontinued?
It’s so frustrating not being able to go out and try 100000 perfumes.
Haha 😭
sugarplumfairy20101 Indeed!
I remember that my mom was using Beverly Hills, it will remain in my recollection forever. 💖
Obsession by Calvin Klein was my signature scent for many year during the late 80's and I still love it! I always have a backup of the perfume! None of the perfumes you mention are dated, you may love, like or being indifferent to the perfumes, though! I am really into perfumes from the 80's. Beautiful by Estee Lauder is still my favorite floral perfume!!
Oh wow! these were definitely remarkable
Brilliant, found what I was looking for. Ignore my other comment 😀
If I wanna smell rich, I wear 5th Avenue. If I want to grab someone’s attention, I would wear ET Passion. Red Door and Opium for date night.
I have 5th Avenue and love it😉💙
I still wear Red Door to this day.
Thanks for sharing your video take care ❤️
Thank you! You too!
I graduated High School in 1989 and every girl wore Giorgio or it's cheap dupe Primo my freshman year in 1986.
My grandma loves georgio. She always buys it all when she finds it at Ross lol
It’s very strong and old lady like. But reminds me of my grandma so it’s a gem lol
My mom wore the beverly hills one. It smelled so good. I would even wear it now😂
Please review the Aerin perfumes.🙏
I just bought a giant bottle of Obsession and at first sniff I absolutely hated it but it's bringing up sooooo many scent memories that have to be impossible because I wasn't alive I the 80s. It's incredibly nostalgic and it's really making me feel powerful
I wore Poison all the time back in the 80s. I still have a bottle on hand. My friend use to spray his air ducts with it and saturate his couch and recliners with it when I would come to visit. He would also buy me another bottle periodically. There was nothing like it. I will always have a bottle in my apartment.
Hello, maybe you can help me. When I was younger I remember a perfume a lady wore. It was late 80s early 90s and it had a sweet popcorn smell would you happen to know what that might've been? Thank you
obsession ❤❤
I remember most of these cause my mom wore them and I was just a kid in the 80s. She wore Red Door, Obsession, Opium are the ones I remember being on her dresser. I remember the commercials from the Designer Imposter fragrances and always thought they were so cool like ooooooooh designer imposters!!! lmaoooo I think I had one or two of them as I got older but forget what scents they were ... was probably more a 90s fragrance by then
I wore all of this perfumes and I still love them 😀 but I’ve moved on with perfumes in this era 😊
Kalvin Klein Eternity 👌🤩👍❤️
Hi there, I am after original armani for women also mystery de rochas
I always loved Beautiful in my teens and 20's and I stopped using it as other things came along to try. I purchased again about 3-4 years ago and it smelled nothing like the scent i wore back then. They had to reformulate or something, it smelled awful. I had to return it, I was so disappointed!
Ysl in the blue and black bottle
My favorite perfume was Bill blass and Halston I love Bill blass something different about it
I also love Chloe narcisse
pam edwards I just bought 2 bottles of Halston on eBay and am in love all over again! Snatched up 2 because kids nowadays are getting into “vintage” fragrances and the prices might go up as they do for discontinued fragrances as well! They are getting with the program and it’s scary and refreshing to see the new generation discovering what we all know as treasures!
CK Eternity… YSL Paris… :):)
Famous and beautiful
I like exclamation perfume by coty from the 80s but i went of it my sister wore beautiful on her wedding day she doesnt like anymore though
I did wear quite a few of those, but wouldn't now. Funny how our tastes change...
My mom wore 3 of the perfumes mentioned here
🥰
White musk is one perfume i hate selling to me it smells like someone smoked cigarette and covered it up with perfume.
CanaAlyce 🤣👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻I’m dead!
Wow! You can smell Loulou by Cacharel a mile away??? 😱😱😱
Yes lol, also it never leaves your body or clothes hahaha I love it
Yes. 😁 Lou Lou is amazing!
Most 80s perfumes are like that to be fair, tried ysl Paris a couple days ago and i was hearing people say is that ysl from a mile away, these ones don’t play 😂
Dior Poison always smelled like grape juice to me.
😍😍
Hola. Nena. Hermosa
I'm hooked with Poison the bottle made in 1985, I love Giorgio and Coco we used to have this potentially perfums that I love and some are so much better than so many "niche". For some reason I feel like most of the perfum now are so soft in all ways,
