Someone needs to learn about the concept of entropy ! Heat energy and electrical energy do not have the same value... also low specific heat is *not* a good thing ... temperature variation needs to be much wider.
in all honesty thermal heat storage has been around for centuarys . just ask anyone that lives in places like norway and rusha . houses built around a main stack with multy pass chimney flues or even korean under floor heating . even moden day rocket mass heating ! SAND IS JUST ANOTHER WAY OF CAPTURING HEAT FROM AN OTHERWISE WASTED HEATING SYSTEM . i live 2 miles away from a realy big gas corp ! and all year they have burn off towere's flairing all night just to dump gasses that are not good for the enviroment . Why don't use the solar energy to heat the sand battery by concentrated lens and warm the community house at winter ?
