  • You’ve all probably figured out by now that air commuting offers many benefits over cars, however, it has one major drawback - Planes are much more expensive to run! Well, worry no more because this strange-looking business jet comes with better fuel economy than your car! From one of the strangest designs in the world of aviation, to unfathomably good fuel economy and extremely low running costs, we are going to uncover everything about the Celera 500L!

    Nice window view...

  • @bagelvision

where is it? it made a huge buzz for a few years. did the oil companies bury it?

Is it just me who thinks this is a scam? No way it has performance this good. Think about it the Piaggio Avanti which is very aerodynamic and has a pusher propeller configuration doesn't get this kind of performance, and they are at it for 40 years, wouldn't you imagine they would have at least made drastic improvement's if that was possible by now? Or the predator drone which would have great benefits if it could have this range, get's only about the same s most other pusher propeller air planes! The only way this can get that kind of performance and range is if it's a pretty much an empty shell with lots of fuel flying in very good conditions !

Just think if you had a two passenger version and still used the same engine or smaller engine that was a turbo charged kubota diesel engine or a three stage turbine that mixes exhaust to heat air coming into the engine to warm up air before going into the combustion chamber.

Crossing the Atlantic on a single engine aircraft would make me nervous.

  • @Kissamiess

It's all about the laminar flow, layers of air gliding over each other to dramatically reduce drag. I wonder how susceptible to weather that effect is.

The numbers regarding multiple times efficiency can not be correct.

Après tous ce beau travail de passionnés cet Aircraft aura une très belle place dans un musée de l Aéronautique ! Bravo!

  • @wakefieldgregg5295

Would love to see the MPG when they try it with a tororoidal propeller!

  • @richardpark3054

Looks to me like runway visibility while landing might be a little limited.

    More egg than the piaggio

  • @seq165432

Seeing the broad enthusiasm, acceptance and total lack of cynicism over this "just around the corner - new technology",

  • @chexlemeneux8790

    It looks like a Tuna

The engine of this aircraft is not the most powerful aircraft piston engine currently available. The Polish company WSK-PZL Kalisz offers the latest version of the Shvetsov ASh-62 (whose basic design is about 90 years old) which produces 1000 horsepower.

  • @rapidcars1

The cirrus vision jet is $2 to $4 million and is a seven passenger airplane

  • @erickborling1302

Aircraft fuel efficiency is not ascertained by distance per gallon.

  • @williamnababan5613

Could it be more efficient if using jet turbin engine?

  • @MENSA.lady2

A one off unproven prototype. Will it ever get to production. The odds are not good.

  • @user-go4wo8tx1x

with toroidal prop it will be twice efficient even

  • @antoniobabb1938

I call this thing the Death Pod or Air Coffin
