Dont need the commentary
If you don't want the commentary, watch something else.
@@OHIOELEVATORS The video footage is fine.
The commentary is, "Tell me you know nothing about actually operating a forklift, without telling me."
It's distracting.
@@deadjuice1880 agreed. And instead of just showing the actual video, or a still shot of the beginning, he feels the need to show random forklift videos that have NOTHING to do with the issue the driver encounters....until he's ready to actually show the real video. We don't need "B" roll, just show the video. FFS.
Nah, he purposely dropped that shed to break it down.
Why else would he tilt the forks forward?
100% I have to give this a thumbs down for blatantly lying!
He realised tilt won't work when he turned it off and the yelling was comical 😂
Sadly can't say the same for this channel anymore 🙄
I hope that he has a good fireplace because he does have a lot of kindling wood.
True
2:25 forklifts don't randomly turn off. It tends to happen when hitting max height. Also it was fully intentional to drop the shed. You don't lift something up far away from where it needs to go unless you want OSHA breathing down your neck.
#6 is pure bullshit story. Full on joke by the people.
he was driving with it 20 feet in the air should of had it a foot of the ground
Pretty sure that’s just the story they to osha when they saw the video lol
@@namrockeyThat's why you are paid more money than me.
Also you can see his tires fully turned as if he was still gonna turn left...some older LP fork trucks shut off when you full turn the tires either way...
As one who used to work a forklift all day, it makes my stomach flip when I see these people jump out of a tipping forklift! Always wear your belt and just ride it out.
And he jumped out the side toward where it was falling. Good way to lose a leg or worse.
@@skeeterfan3626 I was taught that the likeliest result of trying to jump clear of a tipping forklift was death, but I am in a jurisdiction where workplace safety violations can lead to criminal penalties, so management cares about worker safety, if only to keep their sorry asses out of prison, and puts a lot of effort into encouraging workers to minimize risk taking (I saw a guy fired for refusing to wear all of the required PPE).
@@richardbell7678 We were taught to lean in the opposite direction that it's falling. But this guy chose to jump. Glad i never tipped one.
OR
Don't operate in a manner that will cause a tip.
This is basic logic, from someone who has only operated forklifts a handful of times. But my logic is, inside the ROPS is the safest place you can be since that same canopy can definitely hurt if you're jumping out. The IDEAL course, is to simply not use the machine wrong and prevent the incident. But staying in the seat is the better choice. Heavy equipment it's the same, but on a substantially heavier level. When machines weigh 10k lb, they're scary if they tip. When it's 100k, it can be devastating.
Several of these clips show the operator driving while the load is in the air. That’s a huge mistake. Always bring the load down to a few inches off the ground before you start driving. If the load blocks your view, drive in reverse.
Forks down. Pull your load.
I drove steep downhill forks first and the big metal dumpster on wheels fell off and speed up downhill towards open hall doors, but luckily it fell on its side before hurting any1. I also tried to impress a lady at work by working fast and drove the forks thru some huge package probably an ikea shelf or something the pqckage didnt stand anymore and with 2 fork penetrarions i "hid" the mess in back corner of the logistic complex. I have other accidents aswell.. my new trade is trucking and ive had some accidents too like driving into forest and so on.
I drive a forklift almost all day at my job and watching these just makes me cringe.
Me to and the driver at 7:36 did the exact opposite of what is suppose to be done when the lift tips over.
Same
Me too👍
That is a bad day to say the least.
You act like accident never happened to you
This video should be shared for every forklift driver as things not to do with the equipment and what to watch out for.
Having operated a forklift for over 20 years it is amazing what people will do without the proper training.
true, but some people simply cant be trained. They have no common sense
@@JohnProph As to your reply some people need more attention in the beginning. I personally have seen people that could not drive straight become some of the most responsible and safest operators. Time and patience are a most.
Its amazing what people will do even when they’re properly trained.
dam right i am trainer for them
@@kencain6212 I am sure that you are a good trainer .
In the last clip he was likely ramming it in so he could get under it on a flat surface. For pallet jacks if you aren't level with your cargo they rarely go in
Those motorized ones like he has don’t do well in dips.
The ramp makes a dip with the dock _/ because the truck is higher.
Last guy did nothing wrong but turning.
@@Christackleberryexcept for when he pierced the contents of the pallet
Watching number 3, that is exactly why my warehouse has a policy, where if a HGV driver is staying attached to a trailer during a load/unload, they must surrender their truck keys to the forklift operator, who will keep it on a hook just inside the door. They get the keys back when the operation is complete.
That eliminates the risk of an accident like that happening.
Awesome idea
but that was not the only problem. the guy decided to get out of the forklift and risk his life doing so. he was lucky he had enough time to get out.
We have dock locks at my job site once locked they cannot move unless we unlock them.
@chinablue1699 place I worked at way back got those installed after a driver pulled away as dude was unloading his trailer. Lift fell completely out and hit the pavement. Ol Keith was shook the fuck up but otherwise uninjured
7:22 ...you NEVER jump off of a falling forklift. You are likely to be crushed. Forklift training 101. Also, there are SO many instances of people driving forward with no visibility (drive backwards then) and SO many instances of people driving wit their loads raised up (no no). You didn't mention any of these as bad practices.
Also i think in the last one the angle was preventing him from getting the forks in
The bloke with the forklift and the boat on the incline needs to remain indoors for his own safety!
Bloke needs to lay off the blunts
And lose the flip flops.
@@DEmersonJMFM 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Captain always goes down with the lift they will call ya Captain crunch for years 😂
Nothing worse than those damn soggies lmao!!!!
Wanzl/Technibilt learned about OSHA a few years ago; when the last time anyone at Wanzl knew about OSHA you would have to ask Wanzl's Health Safety Environment Coordinator, who, despite his claims otherwise online--wasn't actually at the plant.
At 3:05, you are supposed to run with your load as close to the ground as practical, until you get as close to the object that you are stacking the load upon, as possible. The driver had raised the shed so that he could look under it, as he drove forward, he really needed a spotter to guide the forklift to where it needed to be.
At 7:32, any bets that the truck driver went to the wrong truck and pulled out without doing a circle check?
My first thought also. Probably hooked the wrong trailer, and just pulled it out without checking. Makes me think it was a yard horse, those guys are always in a hurry.
The creators have truly outdone themselves with this exceptional video.
After years of working with pallet jacks, powered or manual, and forklifts of varying sizes, it's easy to spot all of the errors here. There's way too many to list!
Never jump from a tipping forklift
Shed guy meant to do that. I used to do that shit all the time. It’s cathartic.
The last one had me in tears 😂😂😂
Forklifts and operating one are much harder than they look you know.
Trying to place the shed on top of what?
There's nothing near him.
You can educate forklift drivers as much as you want, they tend to do as they please. And Puck Futin.
Watching these clips as a new Forklift license holder, so I don’t make the same mistakes
Good thing the privy at 3:05 was clean.
Este vídeo é uma joia! A empolgação do narrador maduro é a cereja do bolo. É como se ele estivesse compartilhando esses momentos da estrada conosco em tempo real. Fantástico!
Great to see others having fun with their forklifts. They are great machines but need to be driven with care and respect. I drove a regular one and an aisle reach truck in a warehouse.
Aprecio cómo este video no solo resalta el impacto de los desastres catastróficos sino que también brinda información sobre la prevención. ¡Contenido muy completo!
" SADLY. WE CAN' T. FIX STUPIDITY "
You’re right about forklift drivers! That’s the problem get a forklift operator and this dumb crap doesn’t happen!
9:08
Body type have nothing to do with this scenario. That's a weird observation.
That guy is larger than the guy who taught me forklifts, and smaller than the person who taught me to use a "power jack".
"Power jacks" are used for precise loading operations, like say, a trailer that it stuffed with full pallets.
Notice the ramp: Can't get an angle on the pallet, on a ramp. Try and drive one in, you'd break the pallet.
Pushing the pallet in with it is not ideal, but does the job.
The guy wasn't paying attention to his tool and work area.
7:19 sit down forklift you're not supposed to jump out, that's stand-ups
That two forklifts to unload the one would have worked but the one guy couldn't come in with his forks close enough to make it work.
All the osha safety experts came out of the qood works for this one 😂
3:10 that was just a fun way to flatten a large box.vwas he putting the shed in the tree.
The last guy kept the accelerator held down because he wasn't concentrating so he didn't let go, happens a lot by accident haha. I've nearly messed heaps of shit up luke that when I'm distracted and forget what I'm doing 😂
The guy operating the forklift with the boat on the slope should stay indoors for his own safety
Bro almost got stoned by ketchup bottles. Good thing he saw it coming
5:53! I agree “sho shaq do wah”🤣
These people probably weren't forklift certified.
😅😂
Buddy needs to adjust his parking brake
Time stamp 7:38 unlikely that the truck hit the gas pedal, all these large trucks run on diesel!
That's not an arm on the forklift , lifting the shed , it's called a mast
Klaus approves this video.
I like both the first and the last ideots.
A forKlift is driven by its front wheels the rear are just for steering .
always put the parking brake on before you get off the equipment
That first guy couldn't catch a break..... literally
The guy with the boat did apply the parking brake. However, it appears that it was not adjusted properly and the rest is history.
Never EVER try to jump out of a tipping forklift. That's how you lose limbs or get cut in half by the cage. You're more than likely going to be fine if you just sit tight.
Moving with a load that high up..Oshawa would have ya fired
The last guy: if I was boss boss I'd die him on the spot after i had seen the camera footage. There's no excuse to his actions.
Dropping the shed next to the waste container then making out it was a mistake. Nah, he was just smashing it up so it could go easily into the waste container! Simple!
Number 4, your description is unaccurate. the reason why is back tire was getting up is because the second forklift was going to fast down.
That #7 forklift looks like the space pod in _2001: a space odyssey_ having a mind of its own.
I was trained not to raise the load until in position to place the load where it is going.
OSHA has been trying to reach you with an urgent important message regarding your vehicle’s …….
Ahhh fuck it why are we even trying …
{OSHA has left the conversation}
you said at 6:07 that its impossible for the forklift to pull forwards because his rear wheels are in the air, this isn't true.... forklifts are driven by their front wheels, but steer with the rear wheels. He could have pulled forwards a little and got the forks further under the new machine, if he had reacted fast enough....
I can confirm the ppt users issue at the end.
We have a cargo container that we load deliverys into. But the metal ramp causes loss of friction so fast, couple with the fact that metal bends causes a nightmare and unsafe use.
I had one stuck on a ramp once, unable to move it.
Required timber, 2 pump trucks and alot of tinkering.
The 1st movie was with a dude whom shouldnt be near a forklift as u cant leave a forklift without putting on the handbrake as itll peep loudly and nonstop
I have to wonder if the brakes were broken. I mean, he went back and yet it did it again. Myybe he just doesn't know how to work it.
There are still lots of older forklifts in use that don’t have fancy-shmancy safety devices like you’re describing.
Didn't even highlight the story in the thumbnail. Might have been the worst forklift blunder ever.
"Forklift school" is that real? I've never seen a forklift driver sober much less one that went to school
Yes it is or at least was....I had to take 28hrs of class and 12 hrs moving and lifting things around the test site / warehouse
and got a picture ID / Drivers license....which had to re-cert for 1 hr every 2 yrs...... not sure how many Factories
do that any more but know Home Depot and other do
So you've met every single forklift driver on the planet to make that claim, huh? Because I sure don't know you and I drive a forklift.
How about McDonald’s school is that the one you grow up from
I feel like the shed drop was intentional, he was nowhere near anything that the shed was supposed to "go on".
#5 you didnt need two forklifts for that. The larger forklift's forks could have gone up alot higher.
#3 when the 18-wheeler pulled away he panicked and jumped out of the forklift which is an example of what NOT to do. He got lucky.
9:50 he cannot release the pallet at the angle of the ramp on the truck, i have the dame problem at work sometimes. I had to build my own ramp that had less of an incline.
That said, in his situation, if there was enough room in the trailer he couldve just dropped and left.
9:52 the incline was too much to get the jack under. unlike a forklift you can't tilt the forks down.
it's not uncommon to do this with a forklift also. you've just got to be more careful.
Not gonna mention where I work, but am licensed to operate lift equipment like these, it can be schetchy at times, I would not of tried any of these. So judgment and patience is more important than quick and tricky. If you don't think you can do it, then don't
💯 I drive a forklift also an when I feel like I can't pick up or move a pallet in a small space I'm not doing it better safe than sorry or get a smaller forklift to do the job
Spoken like someone who totally doesn’t understand how it is in the real world, you’re under the assumption that first forklift had a functioning e brake, lmao
Twin tine forks are called twin blades in Australia
The first one is weird, because all forklifts I work on have seat sensor, which engages brakes when not pressed (even gasoline ones). Only when forklift is off brakes are loose.
2'nd video - deffinetly not a mistake, because tilt lever was pushed for too long time for it to be "by mistake".
3'rd - communication issue between workers. But still forklifts should have plate with weight limits above some height. The first forklift (biggest one) didn't see what is going up higher, thats why it was a bad attempt.
4'th - communication issue again (OSHA doesnt apply here)
5'th - why the heck did he try to unload middle pallet, when He could get the last one easier? Why did He jump out, when inside forklift (with seatbelts on - OSHA requirements)? Truck driver is morre guilty than forklift, but still?!?
6'th - not a forklift failure
7'th - casual truck driver unexperienced with battery powered forklift, but with no experience. You'll see lots of them when working in warehouses.
Im glad electric forklift has automatic park brake upon exit plus you cant push through electric motor
I've worked in factories where the lift driver's would get bored. And have sparing matches with the lifts.
It’s their job and also their passion
Dude Video 2 is so obviously intentional
Actually, I see the dumpster with wood scraps, looks to me as if the dropping of the woodshed was intentional so as to help speed up the breaking up of the wood so it could also be put in the dumpster.
do you know what is required to be a certified forklift driver?
you watch a 20-30min video. you are then given a booklet with
a series of safety related questions that you answer with an
open book. if you fail the test you retake it immediately. then
you're certified. I never even had to get behind the wheel for
the certification.
Why do idiots think driving around with the load up in the air is a good idea?
We actually once lifted a forklift from a truck with two forklifts. It can be done if both operators are skilled and take it easy.
Told you I don't know how to drive a fork lift 🥸
You are supposed to engage the parking brake, then put it in nuetral and turn it off everytime you leave the seat.
Having run one for a while watched quite a few people say they could operate one an proceeds to destroy the whole warehouse or load and the truck 😂😂😂
OSHA's Greatest Hits
The commenting is annoying...
I thought I’ld seen it all, but that last one was quite it. Time to switch jobs when it’s that bad an approach with the electric manual forklifter.
Sorry but you are incorrect on the last video. That is a every day normal forklift move to move pallets. It doesn't matter if it's in the trailer or wherever you are moving it. Most electronic palletjacks are just longer then a pallet so to avoid damage to the next pallet of shelf you have to put it down and push it the rest of the way. Now when you are loading trailers every inch counts especially with bulky freight that goes beyond the pallet. So it is normal to ram the pallet in to get all the space used and not wasted. Great video though some of the videos i haven't seen yet.
Gets greedy is right. 😆 timber!! 😆
I used to drive forklifts during my job life and once i had one with a very bad parking brake meaning that it litteraly made no difference if it was egaged or not. Told my then boss but it lasted acquarter of a year from then until it got fixed - and it only got fixed because it went under yearly maintenance and the maintenance guy said he *had* to f either ix it or inform his company - and his company had to report the non fixing to the workers mutual insurance corporation. They did not want to risk this because these corporation can ban an insecure work tool from being used until it is fixed. And of course they would charge the company not only with their inspection fee but also with a charge for using an insecure tool.
The second one looks as though they were intentionally trying to dismantle that shed by dropping it from so high
I thought it was a two-hole outhouse till I saw the bottom up flip. Easy to bust up a shed.
7:20 %100 a pissy driver who got salty about a small bump. Had a bad day i guess.
5:32 not safe no matter what, but if the guy on the right side moved forward 3ft after the flatbed moved before lowering the forks it may have worked.
You would think a warehouse that size would have a dock. No need for the air show.
You only may lift forks... like the name says.. forklift...
So use the fork, Luke!
"Luke! I am you Union REp!" "Nooo.. NOOOOOOOOOO"
"The fork will be with you, always."
@@darryldee467 and i only got spoonge Bob with me 😵💫
This narration description of this is wrong on every video lol
how stupid is to lift the shed so high and keep on driving it? ...
0:25 Yes but only for the past thirty seven years.
Someone is getting fired for all of this.
Fimd out what causes these from who you got the clips from instead of saying you don't know.
In the video where the larger forklift is lifting the smaller, right before they lose the load, you can see where the left fork catches the building, sticks, then pops free, causing the drop.
As a professional mechanic with 4 decades of experience, I've seen far too many problems occur, in which I'm left wondering WTF they were thinking.
Everyone knows "real men" NEVER use the Park Brake or read an Owner's Manual!😆
That was funny😅
So why didn't the big fork lift do the job
