Back in August we were far too chilled about power on a sunny day... you should never presume it's going to be OK - it wasn't. Evening time rolled around and we had no power, no gas, we were nearly out of water and the toilet was nearly full, and EVERYWHERE we looked on Park 4 Night suggested it would be UNSAFE to park. We slowly started to realise Marseille and motorhomes do not go together...

We found that if we were uncomfortable in an area, we would turn round and go back out! Unless you are booked into a site in the south if France, the whole area is very motorhome unfriendly. We now prefer the West Coast of France (Lacanau is a beautiful area) or inland towns and villages.
@@dianerichardson3061 yes, we should have left - we've learned that the south of France is not great for motorhomes and agree - the west is wonderful. We were going to move to the south west region a while ago - before Brexit 😔
Don’t understand why you don’t buy another gas bottle so you always have a backup 🤔. Keep going guys. We got our van broken into in Casis on a camp site. Must be the location. Stay safe.
Oh no! That's dreadful. You'd think you'd be safe there. Daz has his reasons for not having the back up.... Would have got us out of several tough situation though 😐 thanks 🙏🏼 and take care ❤️
We went to Marseille some years ago, found an aire that was full, but found some vans parked by the side of the river, stopped there, which was fine,but only stayed one night ,the joys of camping

Oooo watching this bought back so many memories _ we went in sept and had the same issues - parking problems - we actually did come home early and sold the van - mexico now booked. We found just searching for somewhere to park constantly was just not a holiday…. Hope u have better luck in 2024
Ah that's really interesting. We've gone through similar thoughts. I think it's definitely isolated to that region of France for sure... But it might be true of any big city. Mexico sounds fun! X
@@EscapeintheMotorhome we just got to the point of constantly searching for park ups not enjoyable and then noticing the French were using the free Aires as storage, driving somewhere, finding it no good when u get there or finding an aire that your boxed in like sardines really not a holiday. We have 3 dogs too so like you needed shade but nope - Moho gone and we are also doing more city breaks as we thought the cost of getting there in the van / we may aswell fly and book a hotel . Hope you have better travels in 24 guys x
