Came here from Adam Savage's video. I must say, absolutely stunning. I got goosebumps watching the end scene.
Thanks Adam
a lot of people wont understand this.
But we are.
Adam myth busters?
Adam Savage (Mythbusters) has posted a link to this video in one of his. This is how I got here as well.
That’s how I got here too
Taking into account the history, the exclusivity and the execution of this video... It is so underrated and one of my favorite videos on all CZcams. Speechless.
I thought the same thing. Absolutely amazing.
Got super emotional watching this for some reason. Humans are capable of so many things if we all work together. This is proof!

That ending made me tear up. There are NOT alot of things in the world that make me tear up just by watching, but that sunrise. That was absolutely gorgeous.
As someone who has lived in Scotland their whole life, it was an absolute pleasure and honor to see this fantastic vessel on the launchpad, purely by chance, just weeks before its' final launch. I had a school trip with my Physics class to Florida and got to do all sorts of NASA related activities. One of them involved going to KSC and seeing the Crawler and the launch site.
Thankfully, all down to luck, Discovery was due to launch a week or two before I was there, but had been delayed down to payload issues, so I got to see it on the launchpad before it was finally decommissioned.
Thank you NASA, for all you have done to further our understanding of the universe, and here's to you and SpaceX and everyone else shooting, not for the Moon, but for the stars.
SovietandScotsman that’s awesome. I got to see one of the shuttles being moved out to the launch pad back in 1984. We were there a week before the launch.
Were you from Glenrothes?
@@Takao1078 No, I was with Largs Academy. I must've been in 2nd year or something, maybe even 3rd by the time they got everything sorted. I'm from Millport so it's the only secondary school close to me that isn't in Bute haha
@@Guffy1990 Ah Ok, I was at 115 & 120 and a few years later I was living in Glenrothes and saw a group of kids wearing 135 shirts.
WOW ! Lucky you , all my School trips consisted of were, Wildlife Parks (always when raining) and Hunstanton beach (again , always when raining.) You can tell I live in England can't you.
Did the 360 tour with oculus vr headset, set to HD quality....AMAZING. This almost brought tears to my eyes. My grandfather made the flaps on the shuttle, and the feet on the lunar modules, my uncle helped make the main wings. I was fortunate enough to see the vertical stabilizer from challenger hanging from a crane in during its build at grumman in bethpage ny. Such an amazing machine!
Very cool to have that intimate a connection as an ‘outsider’ to the space program
This is incredible. I finally got to see Discovery in person last year, and I literally just stood there and stared at it in awe for several minutes. To be able to see the inside like this is so awesome. Thanks, Google!
lol i live minutes away, I can see it anytime I want literally XD
@@ItsWAWGaming lucky!
hehehe
I too visited Discovery a couple years ago. Also Endeavor s first and last space landing at Edwards. Than I saw her being towed though LA. This inside vist of Discovery was awesome . But never saw a launch
I would love to see it one day. So far away from Australia
It’s inspiring them talking about their memories in the shuttle
Oll
One of the most coolest videos on CZcams! Seeing inside the Discovery is absolutely amazing. Most people don’t know this but out of the three remaining shuttles the Discovery is closest to being able to fly if it had to.
Space travel, i cant began to explain how it made me feel when she called it her "spaceship" That's so freaking awesome.
This is brilliant, couldn't keep my phone still, looking at everything
Totally agree mate , fantastic video. I was looking all over the place for the Light Switch until they got their Light Sabres out
Can you view this on a laptop the same way?
Nano M me too
I can't believe I teared up watching this
I was chopping onions while watching this
Who else cried watching this, also then went to play KSP to remember the space shuttle?
Literally weeping. Such a fantastic video.
I teared up at the end. That's quite rare for me.
I was nostalgic even though I wasn't alive when It was launched.
Thank you so much for putting this together. My wife and I were arranging our marriage as you flew into space. This mission holds special memories for us. I have seen both Enterprise and Endeavour. I hope to get to see this wonderful craft soon.
I was warmed by the obvious emotional connection between these two people and their ship. He reminds me of talking to Gus Grissom at the Indy 500 one year and how broken hearted he was that his capsule sank and he wasn't able to revisit it later like some of the others had. He spoke of it as if it was a part of his human person- a piece of his heart and how much affectionate attachment he had to it and the respect he had for the engineers and workers who made it for him and made him able to do his Mercury trip and live. He told me: "Upon Splashdown I patted my right arm rest and said: Thank You Girl !" I believe it takes a special kind of Bravery sit on top of all the accumulative explosive power and wait for somebody to throw a switch!
He wanted that roll of dimes back. They had been in space and would fetch a pretty penny just like Apollo 15 and those stamps.
It's sad that Gus wasn't with us when his Capsule was brought up to the surface. That would have been emotional to say the least. God Speed Gus!!
So many memories growing up and seeing these machines take people into space. What an amazing tour of Discovery. How much I miss seeing you take to the skies. May you serve as an inspiration for all future pioneers.
thank you to all crews from STS 1 to STS 135 your sacrifice will always be remembered and honored!!!
STS-51-L and STS-107 :(
i had a metal toy model of discovery when i was a kid (im 35 now) so seeing the real one like this in 3d is a huge treat for me, ty so much google and smithsonian.
Why do I tear up everytime I watch this!
"You're gonna get really mad at me if I wanna rub the name of *my* Spaceship, aren't you?"
I love that.
I`m so blown away by all the 360 videos available on CZcams , amazing technology and so much fun. I loved being able to first, watch them watching the old footage of themselves and then being able to spin around to watch what they were actually watching.
WOW! Impressive! I loved when the virtual cargo bat doors opened and showed a space full of galaxies and stars and other assorted goodies! Great video!
Thank you for showing me this! this was so cool!
Simply fantastic!
It's cool looking around in the cockpit.
Best shuttle tour I've seen, thank you
How can anyone dislike this video?! Inspiring
Having watched these guys do this live; and knowing what they went through. I am still in awe of their chutzpah and intelligence and total cool level. To see them back in the saddle and hosting their spacecraft is awe inspiring. THANK YOU. This is truly a case of "To Boldly Go Where No One Has Gone Before".
The 360 view is fantastic
The biggest adventure of our time. Thank you.
Best ever spacescraft who made me dream during all my youth 🤙 Should never ever been retired 😌
Thank you. i've beeb there (in the museum) in 2021 , just before it closed because of covid-19 measures , and it was trully a blast. Cheers from Greece !
Everyone should see this ! Fantastic
Thank you for the tour! Discovery and her sisters were real spaceships!! When you look at the inside of the main deck and the cavernous bay you can't help but conclude that our generation succeeded in actually building something on par with what William Shatener or Harrison Ford just pretended to fly!!
This was MIND BLOWING!
Wow what an awesome vid!! Thanks so much for sharing your stories
Very good video, congratulations!
Thanks for bringing this experience to us!
Such a fantastic video!! 🛰️
That was AWESOME, thank you 😊
Superimposing the galaxy’s out of the payload bay was spectacular! Thanks for this share.
I watched this on a smartphone VR headset and it was incredible. Makes me imagine how awesome it will be in 10 years when we could feel like we’re there in real life. I really appreciate the bravery of those astronauts and the great men and women behind the missions. I do wish that they let her touch the outside of the spacecraft though - as she said; it is *hers.*
Thanks for this link Adam. This remains, to me, the pinnacle of human achievement
Mesmerizing !
Really cool 😎 thank you for the video
Just awesome 👏👍🇺🇸♥️♥️♥️
Truly awesome!!!
Thanks for making the video
I love this work
A lot of memories, I miss the shuttle.👍🇺🇸
thank you for this fortune
i cried a lot with amaze at the sunrise hitting the window part
wonderful experience
This is amazing
thank you for showing this video. Amazing hardworks of astronauts to give us more knowledge about outer space. They are so brave to fly high to explore on behalf of us.thumbs up to the team.
Love this
Remarkable! Great video!
Stunning
Something so special about all the space shuttles. Even the ones that didn't make it back.
Amazing!
amazing!!
Great content! Must have been emotional for them to reminisce in the actual shuttle they worked in. Hubble telescope is under-appreciated and I can't wait for the James Webb telescope to launch late this year.
thanks Adam. that was unbelievable....👍👌😉
Beyond amazing!!!
Wow, it's cool!
Awsome Video .
WOW SO COOL
This is so cool!!!!
This is awesome
Beautiful...
This is awesome!
If you are the one who gets emotional at such kind of videos and loves to know the secret of universe and technology of used in the spacecrafts and rockets to achieve extraordinary goals then congrats , the universe has chosen you to know itself.
I was visiting Texas a while back and saw what was later reported on the news as one of the shuttles returning home. It was the fastest thing I have ever seen in the sky, just a brilliant bright light.
What a very good video i`m blown away by this. Shame i won`t get to see this marvel.
Amazing 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Best video ever
Thank you :)
amazing
Enough to make a grown adult cry :'''3.
Didn't cry but was quite emotional 🤙
Same here :"")
This is so cool
honestly emotional
Cool! :)
Think they should probably have let her touch the name 🤔... with the bravery of missions she has completed I think she has the rights on that.
BakerCars&Hifi I agree; especially with the words she used in the video.. *’my spaceship’.* I could argue that even if she scratched the paint off; the value of historic memory would be increased.. think about it; one of the first astronauts to fly it scratched the paint more than 30 years later.
Nobody including the crew members can't touch it because that would severely damage the special fabric that the shuttle is covered in and they also preserved the shuttle into the state of when it returned to earth on its final mission and any physical contact with it would mess up the surface besides the inside. There is actually a marking left on the shuttle from one of the crew members boots during the flight that's one thing they are preserving, the hanger that the shuttle is in is a controlled environment to keep the spacecraft safe.
She had more right to touch the old girl than those taking care of her now. I would have touched the name.
Watched this in the VR "Google cardboard " its awesome
This was amazing!!!
Well Done!
Amazing On how Big it is inside I Would have thought it would had been small and cramp inside
Amazing
Incredible
Awesome. Especially seeing how happy they were to be back and reminiscing. It must have been an incredible journey and memories to last a lifetime.
Totally amazing!!!!! WOW!!!! Thank you google and to the brave men and women willing to go so far to explore the unknown. 🇺🇸💪🏼
I think my favorite part of the video is the astronauts reminiscing about their time in the ship. I came here to see inside but was far more intrigued with their stories
Wow!
Thank you Adam
Goosebumps!!
The Discovery is in my opinion the most beautiful Shuttle of all Shutlles which exist.
Although the chances are essentially 0, I would love to spend a few seconds in one of these. Its absolutely astonishing.
Cool video.
Awesome, awesome awesome! Thanks a lot for sharing this beautiful content.
WOW, Thank you for the great experience that you give the world and many that love space . Your video put us all up i space . A life time experience. Thanks so much. Nice to see our contribution Canada 🇨🇦 arm as well. Also seeing the sun rise 8n space with the 360 was so cool. THANKS Discovery and brave souls.
Great Music Good feel 🇨🇦🍺
Many thanks for this impressive insight tour into the space shuttle!
