I admire the courage this woman showed, but I really don't buy into the whole art thing.

Something happened to me when I was in my 20's I went to Paris and my companion was not at all interested in Versailles but we got a taxi and went there. I was allowed exactly 1 hour to look around it was a place to spend hours and hours in as I have always been interested in it. Just as I was dashing back to the taxi I passed a sign pointing to the Petit Trianon - but no time to stop! It was great to see just a little of it but imagine having only one hour and not getting to see much of it😅. Still God willing I might get to go back and be able to spend a lot more time there😊. I love seeing these secret rooms I am surprised that the beds are so small though they are more like chaise longs or day beds. I love the decor in Madame de Pompodour 's apartment so delicate and beautifully tinted like her choice in clothes and decor

Madame de Pompodour was very a admirable woman she had a very high intellect and was very well versed in the arts and very smart. By being respectful to the Queen she never made the king uncomfortable she was his Maitresse en Titre for 20 years and his closest friend and advisor but his physical lover for only 5 years of that 20 she arranged for him to see young uneducated girls who could never have been presented at court thus no competition for her. Then when he tired of the girls they were given a handsome gift of a large dowry so they could marry well in their own class. Plus Madame de Pompodour's health and lidodo were not strong and robust like the King's. She had consumption and needed her rest at night.

Maybe the label was placed poorly, but very interesting fact nonetheless!!

I don’t believe Madam duBarry was anything like puta they make her out to be. She mainly had a bad reputation because she came from the “lower class” and to the aristocracy everyone who wasn’t from their world was bad to them. They rarely mention DuBarry was educated. She held jobs in the fashion world. And she was hot. So of course she used what she had and hustled men to do better, which many women still do today, but we don’t call them prosti…es..goldiggers maybe lol. But think about it she wasn’t in the game for long before she met the King, so she couldn’t have had a high body count. If she was truly a prostitute, she would never have lasted more than 1 night with the King. Real prostitutes don’t have charm or the personality to keep a king interested in them-and they definitely don’t have the amount of diamonds, dresses, books and movies made about them as DuBarry has! Can we stop calling her a prostitute already?!? She was a hustler!
