Same. I saw them 3 times back in the day. It's beautiful to watch a new generation realize that metal still holds up to today. And let's be honest, many of the greatest guitarists of all time cut their teeth in the 1970's and 1980's.

The entire Painkiller album is high-impact heavy metal. A masterpiece in it's own right. If you want to hear some of Rob Halford's tongue-twisting vocal skills that would put any skilled rapper on notice.. check out the song 'Freewheel Burning'
As for additional classic metal, check out the band 'Dio' with the song 'The Last In Line' which also happens to be the very song that got me into heavy metal in the first place lol. This would have been back in the summer of 1984.

This track was legendary even when it came out.. like a fine wine it only seems to get better with age. The album itself is worthy, but yep, Painkiller is a track that stands well amongst tracks. Nice to see people giving it a chance across the sphere. Nice one man! I have two other Priest albums - Ram It Down, which was the precursor to this album and Firepower which was much more recent. All three are great examples of Priest, and you can tell how Ram It Down lead to Painkiller, but it did mark quite the change in their style from the likes of Living After Midnight and Breaking the Law.

Judas Priest's album Painkiller is the best most operatic, electric powerful album I've ever heard. The incredible voice of Rob Halford. Glenn Tipton and K. K. Downing perform some of the most awesome shredding sweet guitar solos and Scott Travis's powerful fast paced drums shine as the focus in the Painkiller album with Halford's high pitched screaming firepower of a voice. The Painkiller album is just electric powerful awesomeness. Basically you should listen to painkiller. Each song on that album is a banger. Most people agree Painkiller is the best song of the album but their all close and Hell Patrol is a true gem.

This band has changed its sound around the decades, always being relevant and making strong music. You can listen 1976's Victim of Changes, 1978's Beyond the Realms of Death, 1982's Screaming for Vengeance, 1984's The Sentinel, 1988's Blood Red Skies and realize how great modern Judas Priest can sound with Hellrider (2005), Nostradamus (2008), Halls of Valhalla (2014) and the amazing FIREPOWER (2018).
Judas Priest did some commercial/radio friendly/shorter songs really great like Breaking the Law (1980), Living after Midnight (1980), Heading out the Highway (1981), You've got another thing comin (1982), Love Bites (1984) and Turbo Lover (1986).

Very funny reaction. This song is so intense it wears you out right? I saw these guys live during Painkiller tour 1990. I still have permanent hearing loss from the show. It was worth it. Somebody stole my coat from the back of my seat and I had to ride a couple hundred miles back home from Houston on my ninja motorcycle in the winter in a T-shirt. Never been so cold before. Worth it though. Never heard vocal notes that high. I still remember the high notes on another song they did called Touch of Evil. Check it out if you liked this.

Check out the band, ''Beyond Fear', which has Tim Ripper Owens on lead vocals - Owens filled in for Halford briefly in Judas Priest once - and check out the Beyond Fear song 'Scream Machine'.

Prime Judas Priest its just Un-Fuckable with (even by their own selves), and this song is why. Its no bs, no filler, clean, in your face metal from start to finish. Is one of those songs that CANNOT be beaten on the type of sound/song it is.

I love 80's and 90's metal a lot but one thing that always stood out to me on this track in particular is the guitar tone. Its so different from what everyone else at the time was using and it sounds amazing! Its almost like a buzz saw sound is the only way i can explain it. Love this track! (These guys are new not old) but you should check out Bury The Rose by Johnny Booth
