Great review, Bryan. One thing I'd add: I think Pearlbrook fixes a small flaw in Everdell. In the base game, the basic events are nearly useless compared to other actions you can take. Pearlbrook replaces them and adds an extra layer to the long game. Liked that a lot.
Mattchew2232 that is definitely true, but there are lot of times in the base game that I have too many needles for needs. But that’s true.
I think it takes the enjoyment out of building an engine. People race for them and then have few resources & cards. I think if the point totals were in the 4-6 point range & cheaper it’d be fine. But it just seems like everyone races for them. 10-25 points is too much imo.
Collector's edition of Pearlbrook and Spirecrest. I like 'm both, i havent done bellfair yet.
Great Video Bryan. I think that the designers suggested not playing Pearlbrook and Spirecrest together was because both the Wonders and the Expeditions require you to discard/pay resources to claim your Wonder or finish your Expedition, but I'm like you ... bring on the challenge and when you put them all together, this is easily the coolest board in all of the gaming world right now.
Ryan Chaffee yeah it was one of those things where we just planned ahead especially in the last season. I was able to get the 25 point wonder and my whole journey too. Now that being said could you have a higher total score with just one or the other, maybe? But it just seemed to work lol.

Great review. Your theory though isn't correct from what I know of how James Wilson has developed the games, but you are right that it is a testament to his abilities that the games work well together.

Another awesome video Bryan!! Looking forward to getting these to the table this weekend. Did you have any issues using the saddles with the critters? Seems like others including myself are having issues but yours looked fine.
Deadite SevenSix not to sound like a cable repair person (try turning it off and back on lol!!!) but i did find that there is a wider bottom and narrower top to the saddles. We slid them on to the big critter and then slid the animeeples in from the back.

Dan Sioui so sorry it wasn’t. It didn’t add very much at all to the game maybe 10 minutes a player.

Just played this last night. This is one game where I can't see an expansion as improving it. It's already teetering on the edge of being too long.
Hedgehobbit how long are your games taking? Our 4 player games take just over an hour.
I totally agree. The base game already takes long enough - at 2 players, our games take much more than an hour to play.

Me and my wife play the base game plus pearlbrook in about 45 minutes..... and with all expansions it takes about 90 minutes
I played really fast games with people who are use to the game and I also played games that were far longer than they have any right to be because some players just take too long to do their moves... it depends on player experience in my opinion..

Bellfaire comes with player power cards with no meeples so you have to buy the collectors edition. Just scummy.
All of the seasons are negative, you said some were positive, would have been nice it was good and bad. Bellfair is a pretty useless expansion, player boards are worthless and then there isn't that much value in it.
