Splendide 7100xc Barely Drying

  • My Splendide 7100xc was barely drying clothes. It is a condenser model that has no exhaust vent. There is no 'lint' filter. There is, however, a condenser air duct filter buried in the back. This is a quick how-to on accessing and cleaning the filter.

    Wow. Just Wow. I've watched dozens of "how to" videos, most of them are absolute crap - the first 5 minutes are a head shot of an unrehearsed tribute to the speaker, followed by the worst video, either the speaker is shooting and misses the target, or his wife/friend is and all you see is the guy's head while he is talking about what he is doing.
    You, sir, have defied the odds and produced a fantastic, concise, to-the-point video. Three minutes, no fluff, no "look how great I am", no silly music playing, no music playing TOO LOUD. You show the instructions, took the time to highlight the steps as you went, narrated concise and accurate, provided photos with the key parts circled. Its perfect. This is the benchmark by which all how-to videos show be judged. You are the Maria Callas of how-to videos.

      Thank you sir for the kind words. Your review confirms that I hit my intended target. I usually start a repair process looking for a 'just the facts' kind of tutorial. If I don't find one I will attempt to video tape my effort. If the footage seems decent I give it a go for editing and publishing. It is my version of paying it forward to all of the CZcams content producers that have helped me so much.
      As for Maria Callas, I must admit I am a bit of a philistine. I had to look up the reference and I can honestly say that I am flattered.

    Man! Your a lifesaver for sure. I'm having the same problem but I also get the flashing lights. I was told by technician that the vent is clogged and is causing the machine to over heat, and needs cleaning. So as soon as I get help to get the washer / dryer out of the cabinet I'll clean it up. Thanks for sharing the video with all of us. Be safe out there.

    I hope this works for my flashing lights. Machine seems to be easing and drying quite well, but it just ends with flashing lights that I know isn't proper. Love CZcamsrs like yourself. Thanks a lot! Even if this doesn't fix my problem.

    Wow, that was easy!
    I know it's hard to detect sarcasm in text, but trust me, it's there.
    Side note: not only do I NOT own a combo washer/dryer like the Splendide 7100xc, but also I will probably never have a need for one, I'm just curious about them. My friend tried telling me they work through sorcery, but I knew different.

      Indeed. 'Easy' maintenance like this makes the old fashioned vented dryer with a lint filter look real nice.

    What kind of cleaning brush did you use there? Any links to source a similar brush? Thanks

    Please help. I am at wits end with my Splendide 7100xc. I recently bought a brand new Motorhome RV about 9 months ago for our ranch waiting for the construction of our home. For the pass 9 months the washer and dryer was working flawlessly until last 2 weeks. Keep in mind the RV has not been move or anything has change. The washer will finished the wash cycle, and rinsing cycle spinning at high speed in that cycle. Than add freshwater again in the rinse cycle and at this point is where I am having the problem. The washer will spin for 3 seconds and you can hear the door latch click a few times really fast and the lock red indicator lights goes off and on when the clicking sound starts. The water pump will purge for 5-6 minutes. Then Low Heat, Extra Rinse, Low Spin, green flashing lights flash at the same time, and the lock red indicator flash faster than all three green lights. I called the company trying to get help. First guy was so rude. He did not let me explain what was wrong with the washer. He keeps cutting me off and try to over talk every time I speak and told me the problem is not the washer is my RV. I called back the next day another technician told me I have a error code F-10 and send out new board. This technician was extremely professional compared to the first guy. I installed the new board and still have the same problem. Called back and another technician told me to use a generator to power the washer and ground the generator and ground the washer. He he informed me that I have a F-13 error code. Keep in mind still the same flashing lights. Truthfully I don’t see why this method will fix anything but I went ahead and try it out. After trying what the technician suggested and still having the same problem. Call back again and another technician told me I have a error code if F-11 instructed me to cut the power plug from the washer and install a Edison plug. He informed me that I don’t have ground and the my pump is not getting power. I told the technician how is that possible if the pump is pumping water out of the washer in the wash cycle and rinse cycle. Again the technician told me to cut the washer power cord and installed the Edison plug and that will fix everything. He get calls like this everyday on the same issue. At this point any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Wow. What a mess. I am afraid that I would have to call the Spledide folks myself if my machine was having the same symptoms. Keep us posted when you find the solution.

      I probably recycled that 3 years ago. You might try contacting Spendide customer support. Pretty sure I called them and they emailed it to me.

    Does this thing dry anywhere near as fast as the vented version?

    • @Rollout001
      @Rollout001  Před 3 lety

      It has been 10+ years since I had the vented type, but I am inclined to believe the vented one might have dried a little better. I imagine you could find a more recent comparison on the interweb that may give you a proper comparison.
