Nice box stand! Built one from scratch myself, a 6x8. I think the best part about building things like this is the accomplishment when we bag the deer.
Hey Kirk, great overview of the blind. I can tell you your price is spot on. I just recently figured out our cost for an 8x8 shed and the cost is very similar to your blind. I have 2 blinds I intend to put up this year and will be doing a very similar style to yours. ( since I got the idea from a past video of yours) The shed I am currently building I went with the A frame roof, that will most likely be the last. I think going from 8' to 7' is a much easier roof to build.
I did an A frame type also on my 8x8 I thought that it was to wide for just a shed roof with the amount of snow we get but in the end I don’t think it would have been a real problem. Good luck on yours🤙

Nice job sir, I build 5 deer stand same way your are too. each deer stand cost me around $550 to 700 depend on the size but after got done thing looked so good and I happy with.

The paint scheme and thought process is quite interesting. There are a lot of blinds down here along soybean, corn, and tobacco fields. Very few painted that I've seen. I never hunted a blind but it would be neat to try. Full-watch. Thanks.

You'll have to let us know after a season or two of use if the windows are big enough for you and oriented the best way. (wider than tall or taller than wide?) Taller better if bow hunting, wider provides larger aperture and a rest for gun shots.

Nice build. A guy that can build a solid blind with windows that fit as nice as your so should be able to make a wedge to go into that door handle instead of a stick. Lol. Good video. Looks like you have had a lot of good hunts from that blind based on all the notes on the wall.

I always use 1/4" plywood and frame the walls with 1x2's. Use 2x4's for the floor and roof. I put rubber on the roof like you'd use for an outdoor little pond or waterfall in landscaping. That rubber is thick and guaranteed for twenty years in the sun. But the shaded woods isn't as bad as sunlight on it. Windows I make also with 1x2's, staple in quarter round moulding, lay the plexiglass on the first quarter rounds and staple more on the inside of the plexiglass. I hinge the windows on the bottom so you're opening the window by pulling it inside the blind. Roof is quiet and dry and windows are quiet. The panels are lightweight to lift into place and then secure the to the floor and the adjacent panel. Roof goes on the same way. Don't need a heavy stand. It's a fast one man job to build and install.
Very nice. I am using this design to make my own. Hit Menards and Fleet Farm this past weekend for all my lumber. I am contemplating pre-assembling the walls then pre-assembling the roof before going in the field. Would like to try to drop roof on in one piece
I think next time I will frame walls then after I lift them to the platform in the woods I will then attach the siding that will already be painted. I think that will take most of the back breaking labor out of the equation. Good luck with yours thanks for watching.

Never killed a deer from it, but used it more as an observation stand. I spent many a rainy evening sitting in that thing. I did let several nice younger bucks walk while sitting in it with my muzzleloader though. Also got some really cool pics of bears while sitting in it over the years as well. It was on the ground , next one will be elevated like yours.
I agree on your choice. Unfortunately.....mine, is made of reclaimed roof metal. Which is factory painted black. So, I have the opposite effect that you have.
Your 6' x 6' looks really good. We so far have 3 similar stands on our 100 acres and as we build more, we get better at it. One additional item that we added was Roxul Insulation. This helps to keep things quiet and also helps to hold heat. Plus the mice don't fool much with it.
Your paint job is awesome, like mine, lol. Do you try to keep your blinds on your properties perimeter, so you can leave the inner property unpressured?
No Iam surrounded by public land which probably sounds bad but there is very little pressure during bow season and tens of thousands of acres. I just hunt sparingly on my own property so I don’t burn it out. I would say I hunt it 1/4 of the time which usually ends up being like 8 or ten hunts a year. Thanks for watching

So why so big I think four by six would be a Max for a couple guys Y8 foot to 7 Foot roof seems awfully tall not picking it apart just trying to make it as invisible as possible and talk to me about the scent you're saying you think it just stays Inside the Box? I am asking in a positive fashion I've got the wood in the garage right now to build one just going over some thoughts I strictly hunt bow and I'm going to make a 4 by 4 I'd like a 5 and 1/2 to 4 and 1/2 foot roof shooting sitting down
I have built three 2 6x6 for bowhunting and 8x8 for guys to get together during gun if we want. 8x8 is too big for one guy have to constantly be moving around to see everywhere. 6x6 with a bow I found is just right I personally wouldn’t want anything smaller or your likely to bump something while getting ready for a shot with a bow. I don’t hunt with crossbows otherwise you could go smaller in my opinion.
After all the hours I spend on stand during bow I’m pretty burnt out when gun season comes around. We don’t take gun season very serious just try to enjoy other parts of the hunt. I built that 8x8 stand just for that type of thing we’re everyone can get together and bs.

We can only dream of 3/4” plywood selling for $20. Wow. Even with a small price drop recently it’s still $80 at my local Lowe’s.
