I was at this game. Literally when the last play happened I was just hugging any random FSU fan around me and they were hugging me back. It was the most unbelievable game!
Why? Putting aside the fact that Auburn is the state rival, wouldn’t you want the team who beat you to go all the way and win it all? The thought process being that you fought a formidable opponent and lost, much more honour in that.

Texas A&M and Vandy were the only two teams in the SEC that year to have worse defenses than Auburn. Yeah they had a fast pace, high speed offense but in the end their inability to defend cost them the big one. Also, Aubie won two of their biggest games that season on last second miracle plays. Exciting?? Yes...most definitely....but dominating??? Not hardly!! Dominating is playing ya bench in the 4th quarter!!
Don’t forget that this game ended a 6 year SEC BCS title streak that was started by Urban Meyer and Florida and only went longer due to the cam Newton Auburn season and the rise of Bama Nick Saban. Auburn had two miracles for wins that season and their luck just ran out in the biggest moment along with the SEC streak luck as well. I’m glad it did end because ESPN just always going crazy obsessing over it in their the college football coverage.
It was actually a 7 year streak by the SEC that ended that night in the BCS era. It didn't let up in the CFP era either with an SEC team winning 5 of those 8 titles. I'll agree with you that ESPN and other media outlets drooling over the SEC is unwarranted...only because it's not always the SEC but rather in the SOUTH where college football is king. Texas, Miami, Clemson and Florida St fit in that category and each won their share of titles in both eras. Ohio St, Southern Cal and Oklahoma being the only non southern programs to win a title in either format since 1998.

In the NHL, players on the 2 Stanley Cup teams don't even want to be in the same room as the Stanley Cup before the deciding game. If any player should touch it, lay eyes on it, that player's teammates would shut him in the locker room! It's sacrilege if the Cup is touched or talked about by players in the finals. Could that Heisman pose have cost Auburn the BCS title in 2013?
Clemson fan here after Auburn beat Bama I thought they were going to win the championship but after the Florida state came out dominating in the second half of this game Auburn had no answer for them but this was a good game that most people don't talk about Auburn won the first half but Florida state won the 2nd half which won them this championship

You can’t lie a majority of the time it’s sec teams though. Every once in a while a team outside will win it but for the most part it’s sec teams that come out on top. Great game though
