How the 3 card monte game is played on the streets. The BEST card trick and Card Trick tutorial videos at www.thecardtrickteacher.com CARD TRICKS REVEALED.
I liked how the video explained the topic thoroughly and quickly, in plain language. Also, the sound quality was great. All CZcams videos should be like this. Great job and thanks!
I got hustled for 50 exactly this way. I came and watched this video the same night, went back a few days later, and instead of picking where I think it was, I picked something different. See, if Im following the Ace, and they think im following the ace, and pull this trick, then obviously the card they think im gonna pick, is NOT the ace. So if I choose a card other than what I think the Ace is, that means I had a 50% chance of finding the ace. I found it 4 out of 5 times, earned my 50 back, tripled it and the dude wouldnt let me do it anymore.
apparently my school didn't think this was an appropriate talent for the talent show (personally i consider taking teenagers money a great talent but what do i know)
There are many factors in poker secrets. One plan I discovered which succeeds in merging these is the Card Crusher Fixer (google it if you're interested) definately the most useful resource i've heard of. look at all the awesome information .
Nice! Remember this from the '60's and just caught this from a few years ago. Nice job shuffling, top moves and using ace instead of 'catch the 'lady'. Also, nice job of discussing basics i.e. one shill to communicate/draw. I've read alot about this and would be nice if you could elaborate on full team play and also discuss 'crimp', 'paper paste' moves and history of pea game influence.
I was watching a game in NYC back in the eighties. One of the shills whispered to the betting shill (but made sure me and another guy could hear him) "look he bent the ace! He doesn't see it." I looked and saw a small bend at one corner of the ace, and sure enough the betting shill started winning all the time. Every time the dealer paid off he paid slower, then he looked confused, then he looked upset and finally a little mad at his shill he was paying off, started staring him down. Finally one of the suckers started playing and they let him win a little. I couldn't tell you how much money was passed around (it was 30 years ago) but the performance was masterful! That dealer had a career on Broadway if he wanted it. Also, if by some miracle you get the rhythm of it and actually win real money from these guys you won't be walking very far, and you'd be lucky if you ever walked again. Trust me on this and don't take the chance. Watch for the performance but don't get involved.
true, I noticed they work in groups, the hustler and the one betting, and then theres the lookout people, if you are going to get involved bring a group of people
+UnYin99 I witnessed that same act in the campground at Woodstock '99. Almost identical to what you're describing, except in the one I saw, the shill lost a hand, pretended to get angry, and threw one of the non-ace cards off the table behind the dealer. Then while the dealer was bent over picking it up, the shill grabbed the ace and bent the corner. The dealer pretended not to notice and the shill won a couple hands with big money, like a couple hundered each time.....they made it look so enticing. Haha might have been the same guys that you saw. I was only 16 at the time, and was just watching in amazement as this scene was unfolding in front of me. I had already seen a lifetime worth of crazy things that weekend, but I didn't know about shills or sleight of hand, I just kind of took it at face value and couldn't figure out how the dealer didn't notice the huge crease on the corner of the ace. I did at least know better than to put money down. They took this college frat guy for $200 while I was standing there.
+Andy P He he that's awesome! I'll bet the details of this "show" are passed down father to son and a good show like the we have seen is guarded carefully.
Assuming you had the ability to follow 2 cards, if you followed the ace and the off hand king you would know the position of the "ace" as well as the off-hand king. And since you know they are going to swap it, the position of the "ace" is also incorrect, so you choose the remaining position which is the strong-hand king position, which was swapped to the ace. This is of course assuming you can follow 2 cards, which I know I can't, and yes I know you won't win anyway because they will just beat you or run.
They've already thought of that, if a mark, by chance, selects the correct card, then a shill will often put a bigger bet on a different card, the dealer will announce that only the highest bet is allowed to play.
It takes practice. You simply stack the three cards up in any order you chose, pick up the stack, move you hand somewhat rapidly to the side, and adjust your grip so the card not on the bottom slides out. It appears you dropped the three cards in order, but instead the one from the middle or even the top can fall first, and if you do it up to speed, it looks normal. Vary your grip and you will keep them guessing.
this trick even though how simple it is was the most interesting trick to perform at the school i go to (not making money). i didnt want to do it but i ran out of tricks so i decided to and everyone,no matter what they were doing, came over and watched.
Back around 2007 I was in New York City on Fifth Avenue, west side of the street, between 48th and 49th, saw a crowd of about 20 people around someone with his back against the building with a stand up table doing this, all looking like Puerto Ricans (a big PR population in east Harlem). First, it was odd that people in the densely packed crowd let me get up to the front. A young European guy also had moved up close with me, and we both watched someone else playing, winning and losing big amounts, $200, $600. I had heard this was a scam, and so when the European pulled out a wad of money and said he wanted to try, I said "This is a scam, don't do it." To my amazement, all the people in this crowd started yelling at me and shoving me out of the circle. One tough guy told me to get the hell off the block and followed me down the street. On the corner was a lookout, another tough guy telling me to get the hell away and not come back. I never experienced any violence like that before. I felt bad for the tourist. This is the first time, now in 2021, that I learned how this works. Thanks so much to Mismag822 for this excellently done explanation.
Thanks for showing the trick in this video. A not very known pc game called Urban Runner shows this and I was trying to figure out what i was missing, now i know :)
When you think about it, you have a 50/50 chance to win. Follow the ace the way the hustler wants you to and never pick up that card. He'll eventually pick up on it but it should work in the beginning :)
I'm pretty sure that when the scam is in effect all three cards are a king. It's sleight of hand. The dealer is a magician of sorts. There is no way to win.
They have safeguards against that. If you choose the right card by chance, one of the shills will simply bet more than you on a loser card. At which point the dealer will claim that he "only takes the highest bet" and refuse to accept your wager. Kind of an obvious tip-off that it's a scam, but the worst case scenario for him is that you smell a rat and leave, or he simply picks up his box and runs off if you call him out. A good 3-card hustler never lets his mark win a hand. Not even one. They aren't like other hustlers who may throw a game or two to rope you in, since their whole operation is based around setting up and leaving at a moment's notice. Anyone you witness win at Three-Card Monte is a shill. There is no way to game their system or outsmart them. Just stay away.
Bob Snow What if, after that, you immediately outbid them on the right card as the highest wager? And what if it's something their shills can't cover like 10 grand cash? If they try to run with your money and you're rich like someone who has 10 grand to randomly put down on 3 card montey your body card can fuck them up.
***** In that case, the most intelligent of scam artists will bring in fake police which they employed, and send all the marks away, and pretend to arrest the scam artists, which quickly and effectively separates the marks from their money
@amplifyd63 When the cards are face down, he's holding the bottom card (ace) between his thumb and middle finger, and the top card (king) between his thumb and index finger. As he throws the king he removes his index finger in order to let the top card drop to the table. It's just basic sleight of hand. Simple enough just takes a little practice.
i love how i figured it out after the first time tho.. i realized u kept the ace in ur hands.. i think on the street i would have lost but then won a couple times and left lol XD see often the trick for the victim is to lose once to find out how he wins, and then beat him where he feels advantageous.. i just love how i might be the only one who would have one this game on the street.. am i boss? XD
There are a lot of hustlers playing 3-card Monte on the streets of Las Vegas in the tourist areas. I have seen them on the bridges that cross over the Strip connecting the MGM to the casino across the street. In fact, there is a youtube video entitled "Las Vegas Cheater Part 3.wmv" that shows the same guys that I saw hustling the game.
Nice video - you should also show the Mexican turnover. One could argue that once the "mark" joins the game, he could simply ignore the obvious (sucker) card and still has a 50/50 chance to guess the right card. With the Mexican turnover, they can make the card you pick look like a different card. Although - these guys are all street thugs and thieves, who would probably beat you up before paying you any winnings, so you're right - just don't play!
As soon as I saw he had two cards in his hand I knew I was going to follow the ace every time. I'm not good at reading deceptive people though so if I tried to do it for real I probably wouldn't be able to guess when they were going to throw the trick.
the Punisher brought me here
Same!!! haha
Same lmao but I also remember losing $20 in Mexico like this
Hehe yes
Same lol
Same lmao
you've got some pretty killer sleight of hand, dude.
props.

I seriously think I fell in love with you just over this piece of text.
I was thinking the same… still cant afford to try it lol
You should of laughed in his face like Darth Sidious lol.
👏👏👏Exactly
Pull that on "black" street you'll be fucked, real quick.

Lol wtf ? This was awesome slight of hand work.
sleight

Colaman112 better odds than blackjack
If you know what they are dping you can still follow the real ace. Not that hard, but they do still jave tricks for such a situation.
They've already thought of that, if a mark, by chance, selects the correct card, then a shill will often put a bigger bet on a different card, the dealer will announce that only the highest bet is allowed to play.
Either that or a confederate will yell "Cops!" and the guy doing the cards will grab all the money, including your bet, and run off.
@@DLZeon Nice profile pic. :)
excellent demonstration and outstanding skills...
I've never actually seen people playing that where I live, but that's really cool that now I know how it's done!
Even watching it I’m still amazed. Talented af
wow, that's incredible. i was hustled by this game in time's square in 1984
Really well done, you do it so well it is a pleasure to watch
The coolest part is: I got it wrong everytime except the one when I was supposed to lose.
Hahahahahaq same !!!
You sir a quite skilled in tossing those cards around.
This is everywhere in Toronto. I'm amazed people get sucked in to it.

Even when I know how it works, I still think it's fun watching and tricking myself :D
*clapping*you are a great at card tricks man im defintely subscribing keep up the good work.
That was excellent. Thanks.
I used to do this sleight all the time and amaze everyone in school but then stopped I dont know why lol I'm starting it again
It was quite easy for me to follow red ace. There is slight difference in border margin in red ace.
Omg I got it lol! Had no idea they were doing that
@amplifyd63 When the cards are face down, he's holding the bottom card (ace) between his thumb and middle finger, and the top card (king) between his thumb and index finger.
