@@olijadu No. We expect a Superpower to run a conventional War properly. To have a well equipped technologically superior Army. To have competent officers and disciplined soldiers. Clearly it has none of this.
Russia pretends it’s a superpower. It’s not. It’s GDP is roughly 1/40th to 1/50th that of NATO. Little Canada with only 35 million people (roughly a Quarter of Russias population) has a bigger economy than Russia’s and Putin’s done nothing to stop Russia’s decline. At the end of the Soviet Union Russia still had an economy larger than China’s. Today it’s one tenth the size. All that makes Russia powerful is 1). It’s geographical size and 2). It has 5000 nuclear weapons. Other than those two things it’s a midget.

That will probably become a standard university undergraduate question one day, but the answer is actually not that simple. You have to think about what would actually happen if Putin was assassinated tomorrow; Who would take over? Lavrov probably, and he is just as bad. If you take Putin out, you have to take the rest of the rotten core with him. Okay, so let's say you strike Putin and his closest followers - what then? How can you be certain the next man will want to end the war? You only need to see what happened in Libya and Iraq to realise that removing a dictator without a workable follow-up plan can lead to a different kind of disaster. It is true of course that Putin needs to go but the safest way would be for some sort of people's revolution in Russia, followed by total political change. That requires tremendous organisation and bravery, not to mention support from at least the bulk of the military. It might happen if he keeps pushing in the current direction. If he is taken out by, for example, an assassin or drone strike working for western governments it will only lead to his replacement by others just as bad, and a possible resentment towards the west among some who would feel we have illegally interfered with the heart of Russian politics (even if they don't support Putin). That is why the west don't take him out, which of course they could if they wanted to do so. Putin knows this and whilst I am sure he is never complacent, he won't expect the west to try and dispose of him directly. As for western agents working in the country trying to organise some sort of coup secretly - well who knows? That must be a distinct possibility.

The Ukrainians had a right to found their own nation at the Maidan. The Budapest Agreement signed by Russia, the U.S., and several NATO and other nations held that Ukraine's sovereignty and borders were to be respected. An agreement that Russia violated. It doesn't make sense to "de-Nazify" Ukraine by obliterating so much of it, cities and villages and infrastructure. Think of the billions in damage this is causing. Were Russia to succeed in taking back Ukraine or even just the Donbas (which they won't) think of the billions they would need to spend rebuilding. It would have been a lot cheaper and non-injurious and non-lethal for Russia to just spend money and build their own naval and commercial ports on the Russian coast of the Black Sea, like in Sochi, near the Winter Olympics complex (they wasted billions there on the most expensive Olympics ever) and just north of Georgia. Then just invite ethnic Russians displeased with Ukrainian (Kyivan) rule to emigrate to there. Am I in the Matrix? First, America doesn't show strength by informing Putin, "WE will use our nuclear deterrent if you do first," (M.A.D. apparently doesn't exist anymore...now I guess it's okay to use tactical nukes, despite "consequences"). NOW we're listening to the great-granddaughter of the man who nearly DID start World War 3 with the Cuban Missile Crisis! What is going on in the world?! Am I having a stroke?

Do Napoleon complex isn’t even a real thing. When you put little powerful man up against tall, powerful man, there is no statistical difference. It’s just that people notice the little powerful guy because they have heard of the Napoleon complex. It’s confirmation bias. Plus in the era, they were either average height or above height. Hitler was 5.10 that is a perfectly reasonable close to above average height for the time he lived. Saddam was over 6 foot, Castro was over 6 foot.
