This is a good instructional video. Very good details. Just replaced struts on an 02 Envoy, 2wheel drive. Had to use propane torch to heat up lower part of strut arm to get it off vehicle. Putting everything back together wasn't that hard. Hell, I'm 67, so this can be done in the driveway by almost anyone. Saved me a bunch of money.
Great tutorial sir. I recently did this job, and had a heck of a time knocking out the strut which was rusted into the pinch knuckle. So I had to cut the old strut in half with an angle saw grinder, which by this point had already leaked out most of the oil. 1 hour job turned into 4 hours lol.
The parts were purchased online from Rockauto. Depending on how easy the parts come apart and if you have the assistance of an impact, it takes about 1 1/2 hours to do both sides. I wish you the best on your repair.
@@bbbjim1fixedit Yes I need to work on shocks, ball joibts, links and what ever come out bad. It's never only what we think. Once we start removing parts you will find more. Maybe brakes, rotors, bearings. That's what every owner fears about when starts taking apart. Thank you

And alignment is probably needed afterwards I imagine, right?
you may wish to have it checked if your tie rod ends and ball joints are in good shape
@@bbbjim1fixedit Thanks so much
Very good straight up that way you did it was from a mechanics way and you showed safety thank you
How much did you pay in parts sir? And how long it takes to do both struts?

How long did you have to hit cause mine isn’t coming off
some times they can get corroded in, you may wish to clamp it in a vice and that may help with pounding it out. I wish you the best on your repair
you know you don't have take the upper control arm lose..
good to know, thanks
Also you didn't need to touch the sway bar link! But thank you so much for the video!
PB blaster
I like that
I jus change everything whole front ends plus CV axles... Even body mounts after it good SUV
Good work
Do you have to remuve the upper arm ,to take out the strut
the upper control arm is disconnected to take the tension off the lower arm mounting to the lower control arm. I wish you the best on your repair
Are you mills?
nope
You don't need me to take off ball joint. Unnecessary!
Thanks, I was replacing the ball joints in addition to the strut
