so this is just my guess, but i think the "skin tooth" is a tell that Kirby's closed mouth is just a separate "object" from Kirby's main model, that can be quickly hidden or toggled away whenever Kirby's mouth is opened to give the illusion of a closed model when in fact the mouth is always open behind that "skin tooth" that seems like a fair enough design shortcut to make the model easily switch between sucking and well, existing

I remember that in the Japanese version of the Kirby anime Kirby tried working for the police but instead of God shooting him, Kirby nearly shot EVERYONE around him.
