What happened at about 5:50 is that it has been found that Kirby's inhale only checks horizontal position, not vertical position. Speedrunners actually use this to re-grab their fire powerup after using the hammer glitch

Hey Failboat try the double Chaos Elfilis glitch. How you do it is you make it to the final battle in the ultimate cup z, Weaken Chaos Elfilis to it's second phase, and then Hammer jump above the arena and fall off the map. When you do all this, something interesting happens

I could theoretically see wandering the enemyless version of EX Bridge then climbing back up to be faster if you've already cleared Winter Horns' Waddle Dee quota by the time you've reached Blizzard Bridge
you'd just need to fight Twin Wild Edge, no need to fight the other midbosses or do any of the siderooms for Waddle Dees
edit: maybe you could just bypass Twin Wild Edge entirely if you can make it down the first stop without running into a bottomless pit hitbox?

It's surprising how much out-of-bounds stuff actually has collision in this game. Like, what purpose does that water having collision serve?
It's automatically applied, so it'd be more work to remove it than just leaving it in.

Yeah that's what got me confused. But it's still really cool cause then we can explore more
the water makes sense actually, as well as collision for geometry close to normal bounds, because projectiles like bombs will actually ignore the invisible walls that block Kirby off.

I imagine the theme would be of a feeling of high amounts of comedic danger, giving the "you could have just played the challenge but you had to find a way around it?" the comedy being the Devs trying to ignore the fact they could just patch it and be done with it.

I find it interesting that some of the areas out of bounds have collision, like they expect you to explore that part of the area but probably didn't have much ideas of what to add there. Goes to show that HAL puts so much effort in their kirby games especially this one, the game may have been glitched many times for speedruns but it still looks amazing imo.
Exactly, the out of bounds looks like actual levels sometimes. And in most other games, out of bound areas usually are ugly, but in this game, it isnt

In the gorimondo fight there’s actually a completely unused entrance to alival mall that you can easily find by using the hammer glitch
It's actually extremely common for games to have navmeshed areas well outside the map boundaries, it's also the opposite of effort because the reason this occurs is due to a method to cut corners in development by mass applying navmeshing to environmental textures directly instead of manually mapping it.

For those of you who either weren’t there for the stream or didn’t see the vod, You can also do it with regular and masked hammers. I don’t think you can do it with wild hammer, but it might just be hard to time.

Tbh, would make sense that Hal doesn't really know what they're doing because its the first (canon) 3D kirby game
@@luckywii8731 you say that but Blowout Blast & Battle Royale were very much experiments to gradually introduce concepts for a 3D Kirby so they could actually know what they were doing. heck, even various articles about Forgotten Land development had them think of minor quality of life things to ease in the 3D experience, so the Hammer/Fire hi-jump glitch is really more of a completely unexpected outlier than an actual "I don't know what I'm doing" thing.

At the very least, this game's glitches require you to go out of your way to pull them off, unlike some games where you can do it by complete fucking accident.
It shows how well it's made, especially as 3D games will always be prone to glitches than 2D ones. Glitches that you have to go out of the way to do are fun to watch providing they don't crash or kill the game. (Going to ignore all Colosseum records for this game for now.)

I'm more than confused why there were water physics out of bounds.
Typically water is a cube with only the top side (The water) being visible, to cover stages with an "ocean" they typically extend that cube so it covers the entire map. Or sometimes the water is just an effect that is applied when the character enters Y height with a texture in the same place.
This is all done to make the water simpler for the game and devs.
There’s a glitch called Mouthful Storage, where if you get hit on the same frame as you start to inhale an object, it may look like nothing happened, but walk away from the object you tried to inhale, press 🅱️, and the object will teleport to you. (Also you acknowledged Commentator Waddle Dee flipping you off with a lack of fingers, yet you didn’t acknowledge the fact he spits on your shoe with the lack of a mouth)
