Thanks for reminding folks to come back down to earth. I like the Radeon VII at least I know where half the cost of the card goes for 16Gb HBM2 memory. I do not find anything compelling in this series from Nvidia. To think people thought the prices were bad before. Now that mining has crashed Nvidia is trying to keep record revenues up while sales are falling. It makes AMD look even better, a few frames different are not worth +40% price increase.
Jerry Watson i wish they stick the price range like previous gtx 970. If the whole 3.5gb doesnt happened, i’m sure it was the best bang per buck for the gpu with that spec in 2014.
Just wanna thank you for reviewing SFF Cases and other ITX stuff so in depth that I actually just ordered an Ncase M1 and im damn excited to build in it!
What cooler? I'm thinking about a Ghost running a Cryorig C7 and Noctua NF-F12x25PWM with a 3d printed adapter. That way you get good cpu and VRM cooling for a decent overclock on something like a 8600k.
Last high end somewhat bang-for-buck card was 1080Ti, which is still relevant today and holds its value compared to the 20 series. I hope Nvidia will learn from its latest financial troubles and falling revenues & share prices to try and come up with more consumer friendly prices for higher end cards. For now, I am glad Nvidia is getting wrecked financially for the poor choices they made in pushing super-expensive RTX cards on consumers.
I WANT ONE! But where the heck are ppl seeing these being sold for 1600 USD? I see them on Ebay for 3,000 and amazon for even more than that. Like I have yet to find any priced at 1600
I have no interest in buying that but if I did I would just water cool it and not mess with air cooling. Either that or I would down clock it to keep it between 55 to 60c. Anything over that I will not run at despite whatever the manufacture states.
If you want equal or even better performance for cheaper, just get the reference card and a custom air or liquid cooler for it. Since Nvidia tends to reserve the best binned chips for their own cards, they have the best overclocking potential. This card really doesn't make any sense value wise and it doesn't help it looks awful compared to the cheaper Aorus Xtreme for example.
@@TheWretchedWorld Hi mate I've got one. Gpu-z says it's Samsung. Most of the reviews I've seen (and I've seen them all) say the same but maybe they are putting micron in some of them, pretty shit move if they are :-(
I'm building a gaming rig with the aim of cramming as much hardware in it as I can while still maintaining functionality. With this card, there's only 6mm of clearance lengthwise for it to fit, so that sounds about right. It's a stupid reason to buy a GPU, but whatever...
My Founders 2080ti can reach 2070 MHz but I stopped because of temperatures reaching 88C. Just need to get a water block later. I spent most of my budget on the graphics card.
The problem about hardware-mods on the 2080ti is the locking mechanisam for power on the pcie side. If you want to know more look at buildzoid who tried to unlock it for one of his patreons.
Might be interesting to compare this to the EVGA 2080ti Kingpin. But, I am willing to bet you would reach the same conclusion...overpriced niche product for LN2 or professional OCers. I love your videos but really disapointed that you are diverting from the SFF PC's. Im not trying to say what you are doing is wrong but it would have been nice for the SFF PC builders out there to gave more content. I know there arent many SFF cases or hardware out there at the moment and maybe thats why. I do have a question though, which 2080Ti watercooled would fit in the NCASE M1 case. I am currently running a delidded and pre-binned 5.2GHz 8700K with a watercooled Titan Pascal GPU and wnated to upgrade it to a 2080Ti. It does not consume much more than a normal 2080Ti ... at most another 5-10% extra power. If you don't OC your CPU heavily you can use a 650W PSU though I'd recommend 750-850W cause I expect people spending this kind of stupid money on a GPU will have an overkill system to match.
