Curious of what the temps were that night. A lot of newer cars come with high performance summer only tires that get very slippery when it’s well below 70 degrees. The Michelin Pilot Sports on my 18 Mustang GT are prime example. 55 degrees at night, I have to drive like the roads are wet. 90 degree sunny day, very hard to break’em loose and the car turns like a roller coaster.
If it's the same Casey Hawthorne I'm thinking about he raced street stocks there in the 80's and was a awesome driver . So he knows NSB track like the back of his hand.
The guy in the corvette probably didn't wanna wreck his car, but that red mustang couldn't get traction or corner very well. Also props to the driver that won
The red vette. How do you save yourself in a spinout like that? I think I'd take my foot off the gas and steer in the direction of the skid. He spun all the way around. I saw him hit the brakes at the end. I dont' know if he was just lucky or knew what he was doing.
just goes to show, ability plays as much a part as engine. that stingray could have beat the stang if he knew how to drive the track better... the new stang should have crossed before t3 and taken inside.
Excessively noisy doesn't win a race... That red mustang would get on my nerves REAL fast... Imagine the noise and drone INSIDE the car ! Glad the other one won.

It's usually around 500 dollars for first. Some tracks give cash for 2nd and 3rd place but not many.
