    Thorough, helpful and almost exhausting discussion of the 8410's capabilities. Very useful and thanks to Bob's diligence with the finger poking!

    Just watched this video run through once again.
    Many thanks Bob and Nicky. Very helpful and gives you an excellent introduction to the using this plotter.
    My boat has, at last, arrived so it won’t be long before I can put all my studying of various CZcams videos into action.
    I sent you a private e mail to come and visit/video my boat if you are ever down this way.
    Like you, I have found Daniel at BHG Marine very helpful and a fountain of knowledge regarding Merry Fishers, equipment and Yamaha Outboards!
    Best regards to you both.

      Fantastic news, and at last John !! You’re right - Daniel is a top man and excellent with all things MF. Many thanks for your invite too - we’ll look out for that :))
      Have a fabulous time getting around your new kingdom :))

    I had the 8410xsv installed on our boat which worked great. The only thing I really didn't like was the auto routing feature, not that it didn't work OK, more that you couldn't set up routes from home. We wanted to do all our planning and then select the route when on the boat but the unit via its GPS kept locating us inland and that no route was possible. It was annoying because we had purchased a slave power lead to use at home. Overall I found the 8410 complicated to use so with the arrival of a new boat I am not sure I would install again.

      That’s frustrating Richard - tech moves so fast they’ll probably fix that in an update or two 🤞👍

    Excellent video. As always. Did you buy the additional SD card through Daniel ? Or did you just transfer in from your MF795? Clearly well worth having. Look forward to part two!

      Many thanks as always John. Hoping to get some more footage this week for Part 2 :) Yes it was in our MF795 which we p/x'd so Daniel transferred it across for us. The plotter in the 795 was the Garmin Echomap Plus 92sv

      True that Mark!! 😁 - I’ve got the two usual diversions saved as waypoints - Turbot Bank and the other one I can’t remember the name of!! Been sent out there before when we had the 795 🌊

    Hi again. Why did you pick Garmin over other products?

    • @PowerboatingAdventures
      @PowerboatingAdventures  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi Andrew, Garmin products were fitted in our 795 and we liked them and Garmin were also offered as the preferred chartplotter by our 895 dealer. Having learnt a bit about Garmin by then we reviewed some of the alternative options to upgrade the Garmin on offer and finally chose the 8410 which was a slight upgrade from the standard fit. Standard fit also offered an 'In Hull' transducer which we changed to the GT54UHD as it offered more sonar options. Just did lots of watching You Tube reviews to finally decide what we wanted :))

      @@PowerboatingAdventures Hi! And thanks again. By the way. My most reluctant partner has come around to getting a boat, for day trips. I am now persuading her that there's no need to run home before dark. She's slowly coming around to the thought of breakfast coffee off a Caribbean coast. Plus midnight views of the sky at sea. She's getting there.😂👏🏿

    Bob what size screen is it ?

    • @PowerboatingAdventures
      @PowerboatingAdventures  Před 3 lety

      Morning 63melvyn,
      The size is generally defined by the second two numbers as it is for this screen. So 10” for this one and it goes up to 8424 - a massive screen (and price!!) 😁
