I just bought a new boat, has the Garmin 8612 in it and a B150 transducer. Cant wait to start playing with it. Thinking of adding the Garmin 24" HD radar to it and a autopilot.

Have you had any issues with the 8612xsv and the 18xhd radar not letting you zoom to 48nm?

And, if I only have 2 Marine Network devices, say an 8610 and an 8610xsv, do I need the GMS 10 Network port expander, or can I directly connect the two units with a single cable?

    1. Which series is better unit the 1243xsv or 8610xsv , wanted to know what u think.
    2. Can u show how to connect the J1939 on the engine side to monitor the engine.
3 what the On deck hub doing ?
4 I really wanted to buy live scope with transducer I was told it for rivers and lakes. But not for the ocean. What do u think.

      Hello Jian,
If it is the GPSMAP 8400 series, it will need a separate map purchase. -MR

Don't you ever get tired of this game? DAMN! You guys are like children. THE HDMI OUT can be plugged into a decent 3rd party touch screen for a fraction of the cost of a second chartplotter . Two or 3 if you want. And they can not only behave independently, but they can input controls over the MFD, Smart Screen - the whole shebang. DAMN - is it so hard to say that? GARMIN says it right on their website!!! It's no secret, but you work on commission so you don't want to tell customers. Would you really watch a guy buy 3 MFDS for 36 K when you know he could do it or 15-17. You should be ashamed.

Sean - can you point me to some docs? I want to add a 2nd screen for monitoring cameras… an ipad, or touchscreen would be ideal
