      It has been a slog. I kept recording after the show and just did an hour-long muse session where I talk about the Thousand Sons, the Heresy fluff, things I find annoying or cool. It will upload over the next hour or two.

    For the vindicators, I would give them machine spirit.
    Given the amount of ap 2 and 3 weapons in 30k, I would take breachers for thousand sons, as they can get 4+/5+ invulnerable saves. Of course points limits permitting.

    • @TheOuterCircle
      @TheOuterCircle  Před 6 lety +1

      If you have a command tank the machine spirit also allows the split firing of the individual vehicles with no penalties and you always get that 'on the move full BS' shot to boot.

    What's your thoughts on using the Venerable Dreadnought straight out of the box for 30K? Using the less ornate bits I think it wouldn't be a terrible model to use as a MK IV Dread personally

    • @TheOuterCircle
      @TheOuterCircle  Před 6 lety +7

      I used it, the Venerable can be assembled with really nothing 40k about it. I head-swapped it for a Thousand Sons Khenetai helmet and it came up a treat!

    • @benstewart8516
      @benstewart8516 Před 6 lety +1

      Are there any of the weapon options that should be particularly avoided? Sorry for the daft questions, I'm still pretty new to the Heresy and I'm keen to get it right. I'm currently thinking about doing the same as you but with a Death Guard helmet... assuming Death Guard can use them, of course, I really should get the damn book to check first

    Also, what type of helmets should Mk3 Thousand Sons wear? Is just the regular bucket helmet style one alright, with perhaps a special helmet for the sergeant in the unit?

    • @TheOuterCircle
      @TheOuterCircle  Před 6 lety +2

      You could do that, I think they do make more sense with the Achea pattern or their other upgrade pattern.

    • @Jackalos1
      @Jackalos1 Před 6 lety

      The heads in the "Achean Pattern" set are labelled as a Mk2 pattern that is still used by veterans by the time of the Burning of Prosepro, so I would say go with those or the standard heads. The heads in the "Thousand Sons" set are all Mk4.

  • @JudasBrennan
    @JudasBrennan Před 6 lety +1

    You don't get to charge when you levitate.

    • @JudasBrennan
      @JudasBrennan Před 6 lety

      A Cortex Controller doesn't let you join Castellax. In all of 30k the only IC who can join Castellax are Praevians and Magos Dominus.

    • @TheOuterCircle
      @TheOuterCircle  Před 6 lety +1

      It was FAQ'd that you can join a techmarine with cortex controller to Castellax. Also, you can charge when you levitate, it just becomes disordered.

    • @JudasBrennan
      @JudasBrennan Před 6 lety

      Levitation is a blessing that targets the Psyker[...] The Psyker and his unit cannot charge in the same turn that they use this power[...]
      As for the character joining the unit of Castellax, can you please provide a link? I've never seen that in an FAQ by FW, and I don't think Cortex Controllers have ever been in 40k, so it wouldn't be there. There is no FAQ on the FW website, so I am inclined to think you're misremembering. :)

    • @TheOuterCircle
      @TheOuterCircle  Před 6 lety +2

      Sorry, I have misspoken, you don't "join" the unit, you can "heal" the unit, it's mech characters with controllers who can join the unit.

  • @CaptainPlunk

    Looking at the rules, why would anyone take Ahriman? And why wouldn't you take Amon every time?

    • @TheOuterCircle
      @TheOuterCircle  Před 6 lety +1

      Because Ahirman is a battery to fuel other psykers. Also, it's a getting started list, it's not about spending as much money as possible or using special Characters, it's value for money. Ahriman's sculpt is perfectly fine for a range of HQ's in the army.

      @@BaileyBecca man.. this is over 6 months ago, i did go with two twin las cannons, as the resin Assault cannons are just a real pain in the ass to build and arent really straight, as i sadly had to learn with a other contemptor i had.
      But the question was more about TS specific, if one of the weapons work espacially well with them.

    Is there even a good army list builder for TS or SW? Army Builder doesnt seem to have them, battlesctlribe is crap...i realize i can do it by hand but having ur stuff summarized is helpful...but apparently we must old school...which is also keeping tge game from being popular when 40k is totally supported.

      @@feral_7706 Also it mostly felt like the Space wolves got their asses kicked during the BoP.
      Leman Russ almost got his entire legion strike force of over 20-30000 legionaries encircled by a few hundred Ammitara Occult Psi-Infiltrators supported by a few thousand Spireguard Templars (TS Solar Auxilia Veletaris) in Inferno, which fked up the Space Wolves spearhead since the Ammitara Occult and Solar Auxilia kept teleporting around the encircled space wolves, forcing them to engage in ambush and counter-ambush tactics. This royal fk up prompted Valdor to send down the Anathema Psykana (SoS) and Custodes to prevent the TS from stopping the invasion before it even began.
      Not saying they're OP but if a few hundred TS legionaries + Solar auxilia could keep 3 full companies engaged at bay, I just found that statement above hilarious.
